480Hz OLED M10S: Don't Let Sony DP Your INZONE

- The Sony INZONE M10S brings 480Hz OLED in direct competition to the Asus PG27AQDP and unfortunately, they fall short in quite a few areas while coming in priced at the top of the market. This feels like a lazy effort and Inzone has some work to do. At least the name isn't 23 random characters.

Great stuff!!
Appreciate you, brother!
@@badseedtechthis is just a beginner question but i feel its crucial to know to make content .. How do you record your voiceover where we can hear you with b roll then all of a sudden you are visible with no interrupted audio
@@badseedtech Could they update/upgrade the port via a Firmware if it's not a cable issue?
@@AFGixxeR88great question! It’s never a voiceover. I deliver everything to camera at the same time. Some parts - spec heavy sections - are read off my phone, but 80-90% is recited to camera with broll covering most of it in the edit.
The information about the different displayport 2.1 data protocalls was really insightful, simple and intuitive!

Lmfao bruh I thought the exact same thing
Looking lean and mean, Brian! Keep up the great work, we appreciate all of your hard work!
Thanks man, I appreciate YOU!
Perfectly informative review about this monitor. Would've saved me time searching about it through Sony's misleading claims.
That title is diabolical!😂 But I appreciate you for always keeping it 💯.
Cudos for the honesty man, much appreciated!
I just saw you've been subbed for 4 years, that's crazy. Thanks for being here.
@@badseedtech You deserve it,have a great day!
The callout to Sony over the lower end DP 2.1 earned a Sub from me. Watched a couple videos recently really love all the honesty from this channel!
All that really matters to me is the panel and fps pro+ mode. The stand is also top tier. For those reasons this is basically the best monitor for fast paced games you can buy right now. It’s worth $100 more than the Asus for the stand and fps pro+. The shortcomings of this monitor that were mentioned don’t matter to me at all
Partially agree, although it is kind of annoying that the colors aren't quite accurate and the HDR isn't well made either, on top of the VRR flicker and the BFI not being a feature is pretty bad.
@@eduardomartin8510I haven’t noticed any VRR flicker and I am pretty observant. I also don’t use HDR since I’m always in fps pro+ mode. I don’t get much lower than 240fps in any game, is there flicker at much lower FPS?
That title is down bad...seed.
Hey, great vid!! I think you had a confusion between the model PG27AQDP and the PG27AQDM in the description
Thanks! Good looking out! 🤝

That background 😂You aren't slipping that Sopranos reference past me THAT easily!
Bada BING!!
This channel will blow up with these consistently high videos, you are honestly setting the bar for everyone else. I've watched everyone else's videos and yours are the best in my opinion.
oh wow haven't seen you in a while. welcome back
Really informative video, thanks! Not to mention, revisiting your channel after one year, your editing skills have improved a lot!! Keep it up
The stand is awesome. Just as clean as a monitor arm
This is such a well done video. I’m especially impressed with how you were able to explain very technical terms and make them very easy to understand.
I really wanted to try this..but after seeing all the negatives plus the matte screen Sony needs to get their act together..their Bravia tv's are amazing...Still love my modded 55 X930E with 0 issues
since 2017 but these INZONE monitors have a long way to go...still sticking with the 27 LG GL-850 till next year's model...I'll watch and wait
Respect for the in depth covering of the specs and shortcomings.
You are on a tier of your own when it comes to reviews !
Thank you for calling out the DP 2.1 issue I work in IT and would have likely gotten duped by that just due to not thinking about the looseness of the current spec!
Love to see just the full honest review. Always a GOATED video. I was on the fence on which monitor, but I think my ASUS 240hz OLED should hold me over for a few more years. 👍
Incredible stand, I would love to see more monitors have something so clean with a small footprint. I put all mine on arms anyway, but still.
Glad to have gone with the PG27AQDP at this point, aside from the fact that it's was the first of this panel to be put out
Real talk I’d buy that stand though.
nah fr if i had to use any stand, itd be this one
Man, I have some catching up to do. I haven't seen any of your videos since the 2024 makeover. Thanks algorithm!
Fantastic review!!!! Thanks for doing this one so quickly and so thoroughly. I had high hopes for this monitor, but ultimately, it's a no-go for me. I'm still favoring the Asus PG32UCDM as my Black Friday target buy... if the deal is right. Keep up the great work!
PG32UCDM is still my go-to if you’ve got a beefy GPU. It goes right back on my desk after every monitor review.
Quick tip on Call of Duty: ( don’t limit ur fps from inside the game because it will end up giving u less fps keep it unlimited and if u want to cap it use Nvidia Control panel to cap the wanted fps before lunching the game
A great review as always, Brian. Hoping you can get your hands on the new Schiit Gunnr at some point!
Just arrived this afternoon! 🙌🏼 it looks sick. Im excited to check it out
@@badseedtech Nice one. Looking forward to your thoughts! :)

So glad I got the aqdp. Thanks for your informative Video 🙏
You chose wisely 🤝
Good review man, I just recently have started to prefer OLED after buying a Samsung G9 last year. The color difference is incredible! I wish this monitor had slightly more bang for your buck especially at that $1100 dollar mark. Compared to the less expensive options from other brands, it's hard to justify the price tag with that 1 year warranty like you stated
hows a company as big as Sony giving us 1 yr warranty...
Because they wanna make extra money by selling their 'extended warranty' plan.
Quality review. Thank you!
Is the VRR Flicker an issue on the asus PG27AQDP as well?
I cant remember if I tested it on the pre-release prototype of not, but I just got the final retail version in a few days ago. I’ll test it and put it in a pinned comment on this video.
@@badseedtech Does VRR flicker occurs only when g sync is on?
Excellent review. Talked through everything so well. I’ve ordered the PG32UCDM since I was disappointed in the aggressive AG coating of the PG32UCDP, it was too hazy/grainy for me to do any work on.. text on a white background was way worse than expected.
Are you driving the UCDM as your primary device? I’m looking forward to not having the mirror effect of a gloss WOLED while avoiding the AG matte coating.. in a dim environment should work well.
Man…. Everything else feels inferior to the PG32UCDM.
Has the PG32UCDM the same anti-glare coating as the PG27AQDM?
@@buttergolem8584 No it's a gloss finish so the picture looks nicer
Mate antiglare coating is considered a con generally lmao
Much prefer the 480hz on the asus 27inch 1440p
Completely unrelated but that beard is IMMACULATE
Dude, great review. 480hz oled makes me wish they had a black frame insertion mode.
5:43 This isn't always true. They are some monitor with 400hz+ refresh rate that do have BFI at that same rate. Not to mention some TVs like the LGC1 does have true BFI at the max 120hz/fps.
BFI sucks on OLED, due to limiting brightness even further (50% less) and it is almost pointless as OLED has instant motion response. Motion clarity is vastly better than LCD to begin with.
Nice vid mate
Damn! Thanks man, I was just about to Pre-Order it this morning.
Can you PLEASE do a Review on HP OMEN 32 TRANSCEND.
The one point of display port 2.1 is to reduce how much dsc compression you're getting. With 1.4 you're now getting 3:1 at this level rather than the 2:1 people are used to with lower spec monitors. You're much more likely to be able to notice this even if it's still unlikely. With dp2.1 that drops to 2:1 again
Brother was that a ear for ASMR back there? 😂 drop the new channel link
lmao nah its for headphone measurements. I could never.
As much as I want an OLED monitor, I can wait to get to the price/perf sweet spot. Already nice to see 1440p fast IPS/Mini-Led panels plummeting in price
Love the lighting!
What will happen first...
Permanent burn-in to this monitor or Display port 2.1 becoming relevant?
Props to sony for making a monitor that both looks good in a not OTT way. No crappy RGB, no stupid logos, no hideous behemoth stands.
Great review.
Great review being upfront about DP 2.1. This OLED looks super clean, HDMI 2.1, great refresh rate, good nits but the price is a deal breaker for most people which includes me. I wish they had lower refresh rate and removal of gsync for cheaper price. Also the exclusion of KVM for that prices is disappointing
Thank u. For this.
Great video !
thats right. straight and critical!
One thing no reviewer ever mentions, which I would really like to know, is how big of a clarity difference a 1080p 24-25" monitor has compared to one of these OLED ones scaled down to 25" with 1080p. My 27" IPS looks really blurry running CS2 at 1080p, compared to my 24.5" running 1080p. If it's like that when running these OLED ones at 1080p 25" mode then that would really suck for me :(
The thing most people need to come to terms with, the difference between 240, 360, and 480 hz is minimal for 99% of the players in competitive games. Most people are not good enough where the difference matters.
Bullshit. I am playing battlefield casually with my 45gr 240hz oled and while its good and all, i'm eyeing 480hz models because there is that stutter and tearing with 240hz and more latency. Before anyone says, no, g-sync isn't an option because it adds latency which feels worse than the stutter.
So they made a great stand for an inferior monitor. Can i buy the stand?
I want to try one of these so badly. I already have the 240hz version but I primarily play Val, OW, Aim trainers, Siege so this thing would be godly
I wanted more pixel density than 1440p so I went 4K 240hz QD OLED. I’m just not able to notice a big enough difference with anything above 240hz
Bought the monitor 3hr after the launch and requested for return within a day of receiving it… Can confirm everything in the video is accurate from what I experienced, a true disappointment for a monitor cost almost $1200 with tax🤮
I wonder if thier TV department asked them to nerf it because they viewed it as a future threat to them, that will take away gaming market share.
Would really like to see you do a Schiit Gunnr review....soon. Thanks.
We need more strobing options, like what we had with lg c1. I can choose between 4k120hz bfi on or off, i can do different bfi duty cycles (even as low as 1/3 on, 2/3 off), all while maintaining high brightness (yes, even higher than my 4k240hz monitor without bfi!) because they forgot to kneecap these tvs unlike the monitors brightness wise. I need a 4k240hz oled monitor but with bfi at that 240hz, and then on top it would be nice to have dual modes like 1440p480hz mode scaled and native 1:1 pixel mapping. But ofc why bother giving us any of that when consumers are ignorant and don't even ask for this.
Thanks for posting this video
Can’t thank you enough for always keeping it real😂 Also… what would u call ur “main” monitor for gaming at the moment?
Main would technically be the Asus PG32UCDM 32” 4k OLED, but I’ve been playing FPS on the Asus 480hz 27” a lot lately. If I had to pick one, its the 32” bc its so versatile
@@badseedtechAwesome! Do you ever face any major dsc issues with the ucdm?
@@Cardboardzzalthough I don’t have this specific monitor (I use the MSI 321URX) I don’t think any of the high end 4K 240hz oleds have any DSC problems and if they do have DSC it’s not noticeable in the real world
@@bigman8733 ok thanks so much! I’ve heard so many different takes on dsc so I appreciate the input a lot!
@@Cardboardzz for sure, Badseed has multiple reviews on a bunch of the 4K 240hz OLEDs and always says DSC isn’t a concern or is something he’s worried about right now
It's great that the 24" mode runs at native resolution, I have a 360hz MSI OLED and it runs at the same 1440p resolution when you run the 24" modes... It just downscales the image, absolutely ridiculous.
god dam that beard! first time viewer but DAM THAT BEARD IS CLEAN
I’m getting a PS5 Pro once it comes out. What 27” OLED monitor should I buy? Is the HDMI 2.1 really worth it?
Dang now I'm debating if to get it or not wanted to use with PS5 pro
I have this monitor because the ASUS one was out of stock everywhere, and it was available for pickup at Best Buy. I'm liking it overall and plan to keep it, but probably would have been better off saving some $ and getting a 360 or 240 hz OLED.
Do you write your own scripts? They're so impressive
jesus christ finally a reviewer giving some attention to BFI.... we need bright BFI solutions... motion resolution is why a lot of us fell in love with gaming back when we were on CRT
What monitor do you recommend for PS5 Pro for competitive FPS games ? 27 inch preferably
It’s okay monitor. Just wish you can change the active signal res like the ASUS variants
Never mentioned in these monitor reviews, as fps is the only gaming genre to exist, but I bought the Asus one for rhythm games. Caps out at over 480fps easily, and oled being great for them, dsc is quite a large issue though.
when talking about games not being able to reach 480hz you should really mention the AQDP's ELMB, which upscales motion clarity on a 240hz input to that of a 480hz monitor
Thanks for being honest. Although Sony supplied you the monitor, props for that sir!
I don't know about the monitor but that beard is on point, Sir.
🤜🤛🏼
Thanks a lot for holding these dirty corporate scammers to account!
C-suites destroying products, leeching money and hopping to the next company to destroy more products and leech more money needs to end.
Love and blessings!
Does this monitor suffer from the same alt-tabbing issue as the Asus PG27AQDP?
would you say this monitor is worth it over the asus monitor when you have a 7900xtx which does have dp 2.1?
The real question is the displayport 2.1 actually full bandwidth? 99% of monitors that say they do hdmi 2.1 are running half bandwidth it is so misleading. Regular dp 1.4 is like 32 Gbps while 1/2 hdmi 2.1 is 24 Gbps. I bought aw2725df hoping that the hdmi 2.1 would be full bandwidth but its not.
Disregard my comment i literallly resumed the video and 5 seconds later he mentioned its half bandwidth
Did you ever review MSi MAG 321up or MPG 321?
I was wondering if vrr flicker occurs, thanks for showing it, no written reviews about that. So the flicker is the same in asus model, but asus has additional anti flicker option
Title never misses XD
off topic but do you skate? or maybe used to skate? I see that palace tee lol
Have to give props for a clean looking bezel and stand. But this is obviously a different team that creates firmware compared to TV division. That tracking is horrible, but should be able to be fixed in an update, same with vrr flicker. Somebody in QA isn't doing their job, or they don't think anyone will notice and too lazy to fix.
I wanna just mention that in the EU 2 years warranty are minimum legally, so Sony is bound to offer that which they do. The 1 year warranty is only an issue in countries outside of the EU.
I do absolutely understand the issue with the 2.1 declaration and the HDR issues, but as someone who doesn't mind DSC and doesn't use HDR at all I do actually think this monitor is more or less perfect for me as I really hate the ASUS die-hard gamer-optics that just remind me of 2012.
This monitor was made especially for Valorant/CS/other FPS pros hence why it was designed in collaboration with FNATIC which is most likely the reason why there is not alot of emphasis on HDR for example as the people this monitor was designed for and who it was designed with simply don't care about it. I do absolutely understand that there are people who care about this though.
hi could you also take a look at the samsung G6 G60SD because its about the same price as a 240hz oled in my area and i dont know if i should get it instead. I did not find any informative reviews yet. thx
So Vesa saw how the USB consortium dumpstered their standard and made it impossible to understand USB C spec (USB 3.2 G1, G1x2, G2x1, G2x2, USB4, thunderbolt, PD, ????) and decided they wanted to join in. Why couldn't they go with DP1.5/1.6/1.7? Why do we need sub-delineations with gimped features that all share the same version number, forcing us to trawl through the fine print??
Yeah and its not even affecting a lot of people right now. Its gonna be a real shit show when the next wave of GPUs hit. Gonna have to watch everything really close.
we're talking old games, 2d games, games like osu and stepmania, Minecraft etc. There are many games you can hit 480fps in.
Got my money back for my 48 inch 4k LG OLED from extended warranty due to burn in. Thinking of 27 inch 1440p but having trouble picking. Kind of think I'll want glossy since the tv was and I'm used to that and hear matte makes everything look oily and smudgy.
Glossy is the way. I'm sad the 480Hz monitors weren't glossy.
@@badseedtech kind of hoping something comes out that is.
what pc case are you rocking in the video bro ?
Do you find the SDR brightness of 265 nits sufficient in a room with average lighting? Could you please comment on that as that my biggest fear before ordering this because I can't return the monitor.
Yeah this is incredibly phoned in. I cannot imagine a world where this is worth the price tag in a sea of other options that all seem to be superior. Many at even cheaper prices. Insane.
The 1 year warranty with no burn in talk concerns me greatly as well. That reads to me like it didnt test well and they don't want the return issues later
You can get a 32" 4k240hz for the same price.
Facts
I’m here trying to figure out the beard regiment
got a little heart attack at 1:40 😂
5:42 "BFI essentially splits your Hz in half"
Only on the most recent 240hz+ monitors, every TV that I've ever seen with 60hz/120hz BFI maintains 60fps/120fps with BFI enabled.
It's only the recently that monitor companies started cheating BFI by cutting your refresh in half.
Does turning on or off the latency mode make a difference ?
I'd just like an Affordable 1440p OLED for MMO. Doesn't even have to be higher than 120hz, just good colour and response.
Ignoring everything else, one of the best names of a monitor ive seen in a long time! Less than 5 characters!
The last monitor that they send him!
