Smoked Rack of Pork -- One of my favorite cuts

- Rack of pork is one of my favorite cuts of meat, because it’s inexpensive and you get a few different types of pork in one! And this smoked rack of pork on the pellet grill was fantastic! We used the Pit Boss Navigator pellet grill for this smoked rack of pork, because I wanted to be able to take advantage of the open flame and sear the pork at the end of the cook time. The result was a perfectly smoked, juicy, and tender rack of pork with a nice char and incredible flavor! And at only about $3.29 per pound, this smoker pork recipe was a great budget dinner, too!

I don’t think 🤔 I’ve ever seen that cut of meat in my grocery stores? I’m definitely going to start looking harder, nice job!
It's so good! I have only found at my Costco....maybe a local grocer can cut this for you
Looks great!
Awesome job Neal! That Rack looked 🔥👍 super cook as always! Really need to pick up a pellet grill soon. Cheers brother 🍻
Perfect timing as well...the spring all the news ones are released...I know of a few...should be a fun few months
Looks delicious, can’t wait to try this. Appreciate y’all
Hope you enjoy
Easy to see why it's one of your favorites👍😊
Yes....so versatile...
One of my favorite cuts, For my 60th birthday I smoked 10 of these for my guest at my party..they we’re definitely a hit. Usually buy from Costco but for that occasion I ordered them from a restaurant meat supplier.
Hey thats awesome...thats really cool about the 10 for your birthday..cheers and obviously happy b day
Perfectly done, Neal! I did the same cut for Christmas Day, and it certainly involved your Shake That rub! Excellent work as always!
Awesome! Thank you!
Like the background music ! And love that cut of pork -yeah hard to find but stock up when you see it
1000 absolutely
I’ve never seen that cut in my stores either, but that looks so juicy and delicious! The dripping juices is the BEST!
It really is!
Phenomenal crust on that. I’ve never seen that cut locally but I’ll definitely be looking for it.
so dang versatile...buy two..cook one whole..other cut two bones thick...perfect for same approach...big enough to smoke...then sear
Neither sleet nor snow nor cold can keep Neal down. That looks awesome brother. GBO.
haahhaha GBO...
That’s just money Neal! I’ll have to see if I can find that cut of pork. Thanks brother!
Thanks Jay...
That was awesome how you prepared the Rack of Pork and it looked so good and juicy and paired with a baked sweet potato . Wow. Thanks for sharing Neil and Amy. We enjoyed the recipe. Fred.
Hope you enjoy
That looks really good. I bought one at Costco as well but still hasn't yet to cook it
I honestly absolutely love this cut...smoke long enough to create a fantastic flavor, finnish on open flame for that crispness, can handle any flavor..cooked right its amazingly juicy
always pushing the envelope SIR ... great job to your team !
TY
Man that meat looks good Neil ! Looks cold down there in Tennessee ! Like in the movie grumpy old men . We're having a heat wave a tropical heat wave !! It's 45 degrees up here in Montana.. ever see that movie ?? THANK you FRANK FROM MONTANA......
hahaha yeah thats getting up there this time of year...absolutely...great movie
One of my favorite cuts of meat. In the Tidewater Va area it is called a “Bone In Center Cut Porkloin”. Can be found at Harris Teeter or Military Comissary’s.
Just stumbled on your website the other day. Getting ready to pull the trigger on a a Lonestar Pellet Grill or MAK 2**. Wife greenlighted it so I best get skippy.
Forgot to mention if you ever get a chance to rotis that cut of meat you will be in for a treat. If you have a larding needle have at it with that also with some small sliced veggies.
I know my opinion doesn’t matter...after looking closely at the MAk 2**...compared to the LSG 42in model...the size alone with a cheaper based price is something that stood out...if you wanted my opinion about me honest experience with mine..just reach out..
@Pelletsand Pits
- Your opinion does matter! I would glady listen to your thoughts.
- All the points that you brought up have been bouncing around my head since I have narrowed my choice down to the Lonestar and Mak.
- I am very familiar with Fireboard. I have quite a few PID controllers too include the Fireboard 2 and their initial offering the FBX11. Both solid controllers but their fan offerings are pretty large for Kamado cooking, but props to Fireboard on giving you the option to throttle down your fan output.
- I feel lucky to have stumbled upon your channel. You easily connect with the audience. Keep up the great work.
Is this cut the same as a "frenched rib rack"? Thank you! Looks fantastic!
Yes...i could be wrong..but the wording of frenched just means the meat cut from bones...like a rack of lamb...etc
😋
i so need to get a pellet grill.
To be honest...they have to be right up there with a must have...the right one of course is important...but in todays world...its incredible user friendly, versatile and more importantly the lack of time it takes....more time for other things
Looking delish, bro. Trader Joe's makes a good coffee rub, too. Hopefully you warm up soon.
You and me both...ahahhah been in the 40s this week...thank goodness
When I saw the thumbnail I thought, "finally". Folks who haven't paid attention to the anatomy of a pig might not understand the rib/loin connection and the comparison of this to a standing prime rib in beef. Nice job. The only thing that could make this better is to move up from commodity pork to heritage pork, such as Duroc or Berkshire, for added flavor, juiciness and color.
Thats definitely on the bucket list...im looking for sure...just a heads up...I have made a family reservation at my house for Feb 25th for the whole hog idea...
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Lookin' forward to that.....
A crown roast
I love smoking in my Weber with a smoke tube but you're making me think I need to invest in a smoker. 🥩
Yeah....with the right one...its a game changer....
I bet you have a lot of friends coming over for dinner 😂
hahaha Family that night...few nights a week...seems like more lately with the amount of food i have been cooking
Are all your pits pellet grills.
I have charcoal and wood burner as well....
Like the music! DIrect heat ribs. Subliminal
Its definitely on the list...thanks
How is your hand doing?
Good news I still have my thumb and feeling...last night was the first time I have not had a bandage on the whole time..shower etc...bad news its the cut didnt set like I wanted and now the skin will made an indention in my thumb when the skin dies...Hope it grows back...thanks for asking
@@PelletsandPits l will definitely be praying 🙏 for you. Love your channels you and the wife please don't stop.
So is your Texas rub going to end up being "Rub That"?
Wait...that name may not be the best idea....
ahhahha I honestly dont know....its so simple to make...but people just want to buy because its easier...mentally I would hate to charge for something so cheap...By the time they produced, packaged, labeled, and shipped its not so cheap anymore...im truly stuck
@@PelletsandPits Here is one I struggle with. A good taco seasoning! all of them seem WAY too salty. But maybe it's just me..
@@mikerogers1984I agree. A taco, fajita, Mexican style blend is top three for us.
Why not cut that fat off the loin, ya its lean but I think it could take the smoke.
Because fat is flavor...we love the fat...100 percent...plus the fat protects the loin...you can absolutely do it...but not for me...I love it...
sorry, but turning a knob isnt bbq.
hahahaha OK....cheers
I like my own comments
When will you get some more burger presses in? I went to buy one and discovered they were sold out! Good for you!
Probably late spring...they are custom made and only had 100 made...I wanted to get feelers before we actually went big...I do have some bacon presses left
