    Hello, I like this upgrade from the fuel tank protection plate / bracket. Because it is screwed to the chassis holders from below. Where do you get this protective plate?

    Just done mine and there was an inspection cover in the back so I didnt have to remove the tank.

    Really helpful video. Just replaced my pump as per the above, not the easiest job as you really do have to wrestle the tank but your pointers greatly helped. My tank was about half full, I'd really recommend doing this with an empty tank. Ended up using a bottle jack to get it back in.

      I had about half a tank too, but once I got the tank out I drained and strained all the remaining fuel into some spare Jerry cans. Put the tank back in and the refuelled.👍

    Great video, but nevertheless I intend to cut out a service-hatch, rather than to take out the complete fuel-tank with bumpers etc.
    The tool to screw the holding-ring of the pump is interesting. Where did you got such a tool or is it DIY ?

    • @intensewalkera
      @intensewalkera 2 роки тому

      It is a generic tool just, I think eBay sellers have them. Tool makes it easy to do, but with hindsight a blunt wide bolster type tool would work too with a degree of care. I agree with the hatch method, just looks a bit caveman style, but if you are in a situation where you carry a spare pump and have dirty fuel issues, then the hatch is the way to go.

      @@intensewalkera Thank you for your feedback !
      Actually, today I found a tool in my garage, which I usually use to mix some cement with sand, and it has roughly the same round shape on the bottom. So now I just have to think of how to screw it with some pressure and the black ring might rotate. I think it´ll do it :)

    Did you clean tank from any crud. If you did what did you use?

    • @intensewalkera
      @intensewalkera 4 роки тому +1

      I strained all the diesel through a fine mesh filter that I had laying around, but there was no dirt of any concern. This was the first time in about 15 years, that the tank had been cleaned too. 👍

    Anti roll bar is normally captive nut aswell and expect alot more rust and mud if your going to attempt this job

    The first really helpful video i seen on the subject, i struggled for hours as i did not place the seal correctly, and they didn'nt explain at all how to place the seal on other video.

    Stupid design. But a German supplier offers an external pump.

    • @intensewalkera
      @intensewalkera 3 роки тому +1

      All it needed was a factory inspection hatch in the floor of the tub. 🤷‍♂️

    I want to buy this fuel pump ring tool, where can I buy it? Didn't see it in Amazon. Ring in my Land Rover is rusted and can't open with chisel and hammer.

    • @intensewalkera
      @intensewalkera 3 роки тому +1

      I would persevere with a hammer and chisel, using the tool is easy to get it off, but I don’t think it is needed or worth the money, I think I got mine off eBay, I am U.K. 🇬🇧 based though.

  • @CrimeanPalais

    Update: Actually I didn´t got it managed to wear the metal-ring on the pump just working alone.
    Again, I watched your video and realized, that for the video you too didn´t got it managed, as the ring flips up again the moment when you lift up the tool.
    So what is your real experience ? Did you ask a friend to come over to help, like me...?!

    • @intensewalkera

      No friend needed, just made sure I did not over tighten it the second time.
