For the ignorants, check out on wikipedia and you're going astonished when you know how important is Leland in sooooooooooooo many concerts and contributions! Really a underrated Legend!!
SoDerpy i heard him live with Phil Collins. fantastic player, also we were younger back than, we called him Gandalf the Grey...so the nickname stayed for legendary Lee Sklar
Worked on a gig with Lee a few years back...incredible pro, player and extremely nice guy. Thats no joke, he truly is a kind gentleman. He is on more hits than you would believe.
I had the honor & pleasure of meeting Leland after a show he did with Toto in 2016 in Lancaster, PA at the American Music Theater, and I must say, he is the most laid back, down to earth musician I have ever meant, and I have meant a lot of players. I've been a drummer for 35+ plus years and wanted to expand my musicianship, and started taking lessons playing the bass. I told Leland, "I've just started out, and I'm a student of the bass, not yet a bass player." He said, "Are we not all the student of the bass? Never give, practice practice practice, you'll get it." His words of encouragment meant the world to me, and it seems as though I have made another friend. Thank you Leland for your music, your humor, your encouragment, and for just being a great human being.
Beautiful bass. Total master musician!! Y'all could make fun of the way he looks but you'll never work and be on as many legendary albums as Lee Sklar!!
Out of all the basses I've seen online and there have been many, Warwick seems to have this special style and sound. I've never seen one or touched one and I've played bass for 25 years on and off, mostly on. I had a roll over car accident that took my right hand a long time to get better, the roof of my car collapsed on top of my head compressing my cervical spine and its been a living hell here on earth dealing with chronic pain. Living with chronic pain is a psychological thing and I have to keep my hands busy to keep the pain off my mind. So bass playing is very important to me, it helps a great deal to learn more and more each day. I would really like to play a Warwick bass that's fretted. Most beautiful basses hand crafted in Germany. I'm alcohol , tobacco and drug free, all I drink is spring water and a lot of it. Mark S Beretta
The tiger stripe ebony is nice. Both my fretless Rockbasses have that. The sustain is great. I've had two for gigging for about 7-8 years now and they've held up quite well. I also have a bubinga corvette fretless but that thing weighs a lot. The Rockbasses are a bit brighter but have basically the same sound at about 1/3 the weight. A great gig bass. Just did a Rams Head Live gig in MD and the monitor guy was asking about it.
Anyone knows...hum..Billy Cobham band?and some of you have ever heard in your local radio station Stratus? the bass line of this track it was played by the man you're watching right now😉
hello like to know about the regulation of bass arm warwick corvette basic 5 strings made in China. some people say they have problems with the tensioner to adjust the strings. thank you!
Leland Sklar is AMAZING. Who has his discography? Maybe 10 people, if that. We didn't talk about that at all in our interview though: ua-cam.com/video/zauqHSTEIuA/v-deo.html
I came to this video after subscribing to Leland Sklar’s channel, on which he’s shared this bass. I’ve got to know, how come the Framus name is attached to the Warwick name here? I know Framus folded in 1968. Were they eventually absorbed into Warwick?
Hans-Peter Wilfer, who is the son of Framus founder Fred Wilfer, founded Warwick as a bass manufacturer in 1984. To honor the legacy he revived the Framus brand as a guitar only counterpart to Warwick in 1994. Both brands produce in the same factory under the same "made in Germany" quality standards. Since 2020 Framus & Warwick also produces licensed basses for the Sadowsky brand.
Armand Michael Dajab Ehh..yes and no.... Plays just like a regular fretted bass, a little bit different technique though. There are "lined" fretless basses, but instead of having your finger right before the fret, it goes on the fret line directly to play the note correctly. If not, you're either a tad sharp or a tad lower.
well, it's a nice bass, no doubt. But,...Epiphone make one that sounds and looks like this. One of the things that makes Warwick unique is their signature tone. Not really apphearant here. Very nice bass.
For the ignorants, check out on wikipedia and you're going astonished when you know how important is Leland in sooooooooooooo many concerts and contributions! Really a underrated Legend!!
You got that right!!!!! OMG he's likely THE most recorded bassist in modern history in a multitude of genres.
Came for the beard, stayed for the bass.
Never even heard of this guy, but I could just tell from the thumbnail hes a legend
He is a legend. He's one of the most prominent session musicians. Over 2000 albums and countless of sound tracks to tv shows and films.
never heard of this guy?! what?!
SoDerpy i heard him live with Phil Collins. fantastic player, also we were younger back than, we called him Gandalf the Grey...so the nickname stayed for legendary Lee Sklar
Hey guys, don't bag SoDerpy for not knowing Sklar. They do now, and the world is better for this.
Enjoy finding masters of the past in music... Their work is all around us and they can be found in the most interesting places.
dumbledore is my favourite bass player
Worked on a gig with Lee a few years back...incredible pro, player and extremely nice guy. Thats no joke, he truly is a kind gentleman. He is on more hits than you would believe.
Such a nice sounding bass, almost sounds like an upright

Mark S Beretta
Beautiful tone...
Very musical! Love the playing slyle.
Lee Sklar, Nathan East, and Steve Lukather. Granted, the last person is a guitarist, but check out their resumes...BEYOND astonishing.
it's funny, both Nathan and Leland have played in Toto with steve, but yes amazing players at their craft.
beautiful sound!
the ending to that video was the best thing ever haha
"Yeah this is really fabulous" 😂 Loool best part of the vid I say! He's such a legend

Well, when I get a fretless, this is on my radar. Great sound.
I knew that Gandalf was a bassist, he has the attitude. ;)
Keep it on Gandalf! Rock on! \m/
This is the genius who gave birth to _Your Smiling Face_.
The basis of my relationship with my bass is basically based around the bass produced from this terrific instrument.
The tiger stripe ebony is nice. Both my fretless Rockbasses have that. The sustain is great. I've had two for gigging for about 7-8 years now and they've held up quite well. Producers are loving it too! LOL!
"oh yeah, you dialed the right number this time, baby!" You bet I did! Lee Sklar and Warwick? Doesn't get any better than this!
+JamTrackWorld what is that song called? funky af
Anyone knows...hum..Billy Cobham

awesome at 0:42. Sick ass move..very deceptive.. awesome...
One of my fave bass moments of all is his fretless playing on Vince Gill's "Pretty Little Adriana".
+saintofconsequence listen to Pino Paladino on Paul Young's Everytime You Go Away.
Oh, I love Pino too. My kind of fretless playing.
I wanna be Leland when I grow up
from the moment i started playing fret less i couldn't stop
It seems to have this lag to the attack. Which gives it that nice Mr. Crowley key board intro, Effect kinda sound.
Well, I didn't know that Dumbledore quit magic to play bass, pretty cool tho.
you see this and understand why slapping is moslty over-used. pure class.
I want to be this guy when I grow up 🙏
I need a bass too, Hans Peter!
Leland Sklar is such an awesome guy :)
Legend.

Did you get my list of toys?
which of the bass is preferably. the fretless bass or the one with the fret. Lee Sklar, please help0 me out, i'm confused
Gandalf?
Dumbledore.
Santa!
Jasper Perater billy gibbons
Combine this bass with the Guy Pratt pick-up system and a Kahler style whammy bar, and that would be the coolest bass in existence.
Leland Sklar is AMAZING. Who has his discography? Maybe 10 people, if that. We didn't talk about that at all in our interview though: ua-cam.com/video/zauqHSTEIuA/v-deo.html

Thank you very much sir or ma’am.
Did I hear that correct 75 albums in the last six months, damn
Ynse Schaap 'I've been using it on 75% of the albums i've been working on in the past six months'.
75 albums in 6 months would be impressive.
Ynse Schaap Nope! I think it was emotion! Greetings from Brazil!
World's Top 3- Leland Sklar, Tony Levin and Percy Jones!!!
You said it!
also the whole bass is tuned a semitone don, Eb, Ab, Db, Gb. interesting...
In England, where Warwick is located, it is pronounced Worrick. Not WarWick.
The Warwick bass company is located in Germany.
Jack Dolan I believe he's referring to the English county town in this instance, not the bass company.
Jack Dolan Does that mean it's pronounced Varvick?
hey, thats the goth monk who popped out a tree and put a hex on me when i was hiking around Scotland!

Armand Michael Dajab Ehh..yes and no....
