    Longest camera review video that I have ever seen. Impressive!

    Nice review, relaxing too. Interesting Gopro comparison.There is a solution to the battery thing. Well, a Panasonic is a crazy £59 but two batteries which work fine including charger and cable £19!! So I carry three batteries and change when needed.

    The color profile and clarity of the LX10 is very good actually. You could totally use it as a stationery camera no probs. Just the focus hunting can be quite distracting especially when you took it for a short walk.

      I do like the look of the video quality. It's certainly a lot more dramatic than the video one normally gets from a GoPro. The stabilization is good enough for just holding the camera in your hands. And, of course, the camera would work fine on a tripod. I've already developed the habit of mounting this camera on a tripod and locking focus when I use it. It's best suited for that.
      Now, all I have to figure out is why Kinemaster and my Galaxy Note 10+ can't keep the audio in sync with the video from this camera. 😁
      Another technical mystery to solve. I worked on that all last night, but I wasn't able to fix it.

    Very helpful for camera enthusiasts! Interesting building/house at 52' 35" ....rooftop canopy (sun shelter or rooftop garden I wonder)?

    Focus going in&out would have paired well with AV sync issue.. I was thinking 🤔 '2 cameras' could be a sequel to Zappa's '200 motels'!

    Seems to be delayed audiio in 25mins plus of the video buddy. Can't be the Rode Wireless issue can it?

      No, it's not a problem with the microphone. I didn't realize the audio was out of sync. So I just did some investigating, and it turns out that the exported final video file has the audio and video out of sync in a few different places. It's fine in the editing program. Something went wrong I guess as the video was being exported.
      I'll have to do it again and see if it does better a second time and then re-upload it.

    • @PlanetDoug
      @PlanetDoug  3 роки тому +1

      I lowered the resolution of the final output, and re-exported the file, but it didn't help. The audio and video are out of sync even worse than before. I guess such a long video and with so many 4K clips, it's just too much for the editing program and my phone to handle.
      I'm going to cut it into shorter pieces and do another export and see if that changes anything.

      @@PlanetDoug could it possibly be due to the large file size you think?

    • @PlanetDoug
      @PlanetDoug  3 роки тому +1

      @@WanderEats I think it must be. The video project and the final output video is just way too big for my system to handle it.
      I already shortened the video by a lot and removed a lot of content, and then I'm going to export it again and see if it works this time.
      One trick I can use is to extract the audio from a video track and then delete the original video. I don't know for sure that this would help but it makes sense that it would make the file size much smaller.

    Sound and vision quite out of synchronization today I think.

    • @PlanetDoug
      @PlanetDoug  3 роки тому +1

      It turns out that the file export is the problem. The original video is fine in the editing program, but when I exported it, the audio and video went out of sync. But I didn't realize it at the time and I uploaded the whole video. I'm currently re exporting the original video and I guess I will re-upload the video if the new copy is in sync and delete the old one.

    @25:23 video out of sync ( audio )

    • @PlanetDoug
      @PlanetDoug  3 роки тому

      Thanks for the heads up. Yes, it does seem to go out of sync. It seemed fine before I posted the video, but maybe I made a mistake and missed this problem. It is an unusually long video, so maybe something went wrong when I exported it.
      I'll look into it, and maybe I'll have to delete the video and re-export and re-upload it.

    • @PlanetDoug
      @PlanetDoug  3 роки тому +1

      The audio appears to be out of sync from about 16:44 to 31:31. I checked, and the video in my editing program is fine. But the exported final video file is out of sync. So something went wrong while exporting. Perhaps the large size of the file was just too much for my phone to handle.
      I will export it a second time and upload it again as soon as I can.

    My ex vlog cam...

      I didn't know you used to have this camera. Did you use the audio from the LX10's built-in microphones? Or did you record audio separately?
      Based on my experience with the LX10 over the last week or so, I don't think it would work well for me as a vlog camera. I would use either my GoPro or my Panasonic G85 for that (just because of the microphone jack and stabilization). But I like that the LX10 is so relatively small and light and produces some nice video quality. Takes nice pictures, too.
      I've enjoyed having it in my pocket all the time. I can take some pictures and shoot some casual video when I don't have my G85 with me.

      @@PlanetDoug it was a hassle I used external recorder then had to sync in post so gave up much easier I just shoot with Osmo Action with 3 inbuilt noise canceling mics or wireless mic to USB C

    • @PlanetDoug
      @PlanetDoug  3 роки тому

      @@RichartAsia Okay, thanks. That is what I was wondering about, whether you used an external audio recorder and then synced the audio in the editing program.
      That's what I've been doing. It is a big hassle. 🙂
      But the real problem is that when I export the file, the audio is now out of sync. It is in sync in the editing program and everything looks perfect. But after I export the final file, the audio and video are out of sync. And I don't know why.
      I've used the same technique with two GoPros and with one GoPro and my Panasonic G85. I never had a problem with the audio being out of sync. But with the LX10, everything changed. The audio is often out of sync and I can't figure out why.
      I've done a whole bunch of tests, and nothing fixes the problem no matter what I change.
