Speaking personally, I would judge a play by taking both the raw impressiveness of what the players did alongside simultaneously taking into consideration how much that play affected the current state of the game/the outcome of the game, if that made sense One play that comes to mind is going back to the Pats v Seahawks super bowl, Jermaine Kearse had one of the most electric and insane catches in SB history to get the Hawks to the 1 yard line before the infamous Malcom Butler pick happened. But even though they lost, I can still value that play because: 1. Even in a vacuum, that play was insane just from an athletic standpoint AND 2. The play had incredible implications on the game. Even tho the Hawks didn’t win, the play put them into a _winning position._ It impacted the game incredibly strongly, and in 9/10 universes that gives the Seahawks a 2nd consecutive ring. That’s my only problem w the Saquon hurdle hype. It was a very athletic and impressive moment, I don’t argue against that, but he didn’t score off it or really gain anything off it at all, thats my thing. It doesn’t hit that 2nd point i mentioned just above this of impacting the game. I feel like he does way cooler stuff regularly but everyone focuses on that play instead. That last 2-1 minutes of the game was insane especially the kick return touchdown, this game started off bad but in the last minutes of the game was good.
The last 3 minutes looked somewhat similar to that Chiefs-Bills scoring Classic back in January of 2022, as four touchdowns and a field goal were all scored in the last 183 seconds of the game. 3-3 at the Half and with a little over 5 minutes & 17 seconds remaining & a score of 13-9, who had a combined 36 points [on anyone's bingo card] was still yet to be captured on the overall box score? 🤔
I knew this one was going to be up fast, fast, fast. And I looked even before it was. Short bus Special teams today! Wasn't the Heidi game (which I watched back in the day) but it was a crazy last three minutes.
