The whole being able to see sound as different colors. Is a real thing. It's just extremely rare. He's probably the third person in history and who I've heard of having this condition. And normally they are very musical people. That does really good things with music.
I don’t believe him. He’s never mentioned it ever until now and we all know how celebrities love being victims.
@@jool4867 hes mentioned it for years he literally had an album called seeing sounds back in 2008
@@jool4867you sound incredibly stupid buddy
synesthesia is uncommon but actually far from rare! it’s about having more connections in the brain between different senses. aka sounds to visuals. but that’s not the only type-and tens of thousands of ppl experience it everyday!
@@ZeopoZero it’s not “extremely rare” at all and he’s not “the third person in history”, actually it’s pretty common. Around 4% of the global population have synesthesia, and of those around 40% have sound to colour.
I have it myself. It’s interesting because I really thought everyone saw music this way until recently.
Sounds like a very niche film that is going to confuse a lot of parents who think its like previous Lego films but its actually ment for an adult audience.
What kind of idiot parents surround you?
In no way shape or form was it marketed as part of that franchise.
Like yes it's a new entry but it's not the same guys running the show and it's been 5 years since that last Lego Flop.
@@jstmarton Won't matter, it's using Legos so it will get that mark by default.
9:32 I'm glad you mentioned Chad. I was wondering if Chad Hugo, one half of their super-producer duo, The Neptunes, as well as music group, N✭E✭R✭D, was involved in this, considering just recently I learned that, sadly, he and Pharrell are not on speaking terms. Maybe their drama occurred sometime within the 5 years it took to make this doc, but it would be criminal if he wasn't mentioned at all. I just hope eventually they reconcile ’cos the world's a lesser place without their music.
I believe it has to do with Pharrell quietly taking predominant control of the “Neptunes” name. Even though Pharrell has clearly become the bigger name with likely the bigger leverage, I hope that it was enough of an honest mistake from which the two can reconcile.
Chad Hugo almost reminds me of how John Deacon of Queen entered into a reclusive retirement following Freddie Mercury’s death, yet Deacon keeps up with bandmates Brian May and Roger Taylor (touring to this day) regarding the band’s finances. Of course, Hugo isn’t that extreme, but compared to Pharrell, he comes across like a timid yet more average family dude who still deserves a piece of the “Neptunes” name that made his and Pharrell’s careers.
Such a fun movie and a really great use of the medium of Legos to enhance what would be a pretty run of the mil Biopic/Doc. I can really see this movie building an audience over time if its given a chance to stay in theaters. Everyone at my showing was having a great time.
Sounds really cool!
Hey.. somebody with a new idea!
I really enjoyed this one. Besides the gorgeous animation and great story, I came away with the fact that Pharell Williams is present in our day-to-day lives. He literally made modern pop culture, fashion, and the McDonald's jingle.
This is also a GREAT formula for future documentaries. I really hope Universal uses the Focus label to make some more of these. I would love to see one for Snoop, Dre...even David Bowie would work fantastically!
There’s actually a couple of mistruths in the movie. He didn’t write the McDonald’s jingle. That already existed. He just turned the “I’m lovin it” jingle into a full song with Justin timberlake. Though weirdly in the movie they misrepresented that.
I was pleasantly pleased with this movie. Beautifully done in Lego!😂😂😂
Another winner from Hollywood!
Not a documentary! Biopic makes sense...
Any explanation in the film why Legos are so ridiculously expensive?
Sounds like he has synesthesia, seeing colors/shapes when music is heard. Interesting concept re: legos for sure...
Yes, he does
Music Biopics involving the actual artist are getting quite interesting. Along with this, there's the upcoming Robbie Williams one, Better Man, in which Williams voices himself...as a chimpanzee.
Not gonna lie... Did not see this strong recommendation coming. When I heard about the movie, my 1st thought was, "who is this even for? Kids who would go for the Legos are going to be bored if the Legos aren't going Legos thing & are just sitting around being interviewed. And adults who are going wanting to see a documentary are going to think the Legos are distracting or stupid." Who knew...?
Sounds like a fun watch. I might check it out if I get a chance.
Who was this movie made for?????
@@coreywigent7693 me, I’m a big fan of the music that Pharrell has been apart of over the past 20 years. I’m curious to see who’s in the film, and what it’s all about… I do agree it is a niche audience, but there is an audience!
Sorry for this complaint, but it's like nails down a chalk board.
LEGO!!! not Legos, no S on the end.
Morgan Neville Ain’t Nuthing ta F’ Wit, dude's got his name on some of the best modern docs that aren't Alex Gibney's.
So many grinches in the comment section upset that legos are involved...
Great review. Was never really interested in this one because ... Legos.
You should rethink it. The Lego medium certainly adds something to it and its just such a fun time.
I couldn't care less about this piece of crap film.
@@remixandkaraoke yet here u are you
@@remixandkaraoke probably because your a mindless 12 year old
I give this movie one "Ah, jeeze" and one "Fiddle dee dee". I don't understand who this is for. I love Madonna----LOVE her---but I would not watch a lego movie about her.
