In this interview Joe spoke of how some commenters criticize his performances with nasty remarks. Please don’t let it get to you, Joe. You have nothing to apologize for. . Regarding comments that say Joe plays without feeling or that his performances are cr*p and worse or that he is a d**b*g.....one particular commenter did actually provide me with the reason for his rude commentary…and surprisingly it didn’t have anything to do with Joe’s musicianship, his musical interpretations, his voice, or his performances. . I had occasionally and politely spoken with this commenter on previous videos and considered him to be a person with a reasoned opinion, though I didn’t know what that reason was. I never did, and do not, share his opinions. So about 3 months ago, I politely and seriously asked him why his short remarks were always the same and why he chose to be rude. I wrote to him respectfully and, likewise, he replied in a respectful manner. . He pointed out that he thinks Joe is capitalizing (implying getting rich) off the hard work of musicians who came before. I felt, though I don’t actually know, that he was speaking of those who had originated the blues and of those musicians who followed…and who had lived in poverty and dire circumstances. . So, when he told me that, I realized that his agenda in commenting was very different from those of us who normally comment. He is guided by a moral perspective about a separate issue. Yet, in his attempt to make a point, he is trying to hurt Joe. . I wrote a long comment in reply, expressing empathy toward his perspective…but disagreeing and explaining why. Surprisingly, within a couple minutes of my posting, someone immediately “liked” my comment, and I always assumed it was him. I have respect for his opinion, as he has always replied to me politely and respectfully, but I do not agree with him. Nor do I agree with his posting rude comments. . The commenter and comments I am referring to appear on the “Newest” page (about 3 months ago) of “I’ll Play The Blues For You” at the Greek Theatre, but do not appear on the “Top Comments” page. . EDITED: And I see that the same thing has happened to my comment here...does not appear on the "Top Comments" page. LOL, what am I to think!!!
@@M._Lou wow! Been posting and lobbying about it for a bit. Kim, Stan Webb, Mick Taylor, and Jeff Beck are the only survivors from the British Blues Boom and would be awesome for JB to get them on record.
Jazz player…and a guitar geek, but in a different way than Joe?…we’ll see! Enjoyed the Zane Carney Quartet, ua-cam.com/video/djttILFiuRA/v-deo.html Looking forward to the interview!
