      Father...
Ten years into my first marriage, I lacked the spiritual maturity and authority to overcome my wife's will to continue living in a very specific neighborhood we could no longer afford as our number of children increased. Eventually, my weakness led to the destruction of a 20yr marriage and children who became materially successful adults, but lacking a thirst for Christ's Truth.
What you teach is 100% TRUE.
Men can't just "lay down the law". First, we must humble ourselves confess our sins, and pray the Matins and Vespers at home every day, follow the fasts, practice the Jesus Prayer daily.
      That's the first step.

    Sociological reasons:
    1. Secular, individualist-based, competitive society based on ungrounded classical liberal values.
    2. Materialist presuppositions for human "value" as the roots of the modern attitude of the social sciences to persons, such like the 'homo-economicus.'
    3. Lack of community due to modern utilitarianism, self-interest, and egalitarianism. No emphasis of necessary spiritual hierarchy or objective Orthodox spiritual quotas to be filled by denizens.
    4. Lack of social-based architectural planning reflects the competitiveness of a community and the idea of "making it to the top" at the cost of organic unity.
    5. Lack of shared spiritual values. America is relativistic and utilitarian to the question regarding faith, folk, or fatherland.
    6. The rise of liberal femenism in corporate America. Now, even women compete against men. The liberal market knows no morals. Usury, greed, pride, and envy, are all technically "good" for the market game.
    7. The privatization and capitalistic subversion of the traditional Christian extended family system, and its transformation into the modern 'nuclear-family' innovation of the mid-twentieth century.

Father, i have witnessed many marriages crumble because the man tries to exert his authority for the better of the family (things like enforcing modest dress, healthy eating, extra prayer time, giving tough lessons to the kids, etc...). But the wives don't like it so they just divorce them. Idk how these men i know are supposed to handle that. I know them personally and they are Godly men. Lord have mercy

I think this goes into what father is saying. He’s making having children heavier no lighter. He’s not just supposed to dictate what someone should do but help in that process if that’s what they need. Healthy eating is fine but cooking that can be harder depending on what. Modest dressing is great but if she doesn’t like his personal style it can feel controlling because it isn’t her style of modesty.

Marty you're absolutely right. Whenever I'd try to steer my family, and gave my help trying to trying to get the kids to behave my ex wife would run off with the kids and eventually cheated on me too. We're fighting against a whole spirit of the age here and Father is overlooking quite a bit. The courts are more than happy to grant women a no-contest divorce and make money off of child support. They get their fair share with administrative fees. The women today are far beyond just wanting a shiny fruit. I've actually had to help counsel priests whose wives left them in the same manner. Our best recourse as men is to draw closer to God. This is why so many men commit $uicide or turn to drinking, and hete in America we get priests who talk big talk but don't stand up against this injustice for the sake of the families.

Not only that. The system is made to support women in every sense. Family laws are biased against men. In some countries men have only a 25% chance to get custody over children. The standard post divorce development is that as a man you have to finance your (previous) family but have the possibility to see your kids once a week or biweekly. Taking authority and responsibility in such a context is hard. Women can always escape.

This is how we were brought up to be in this culture. We are expected to do it all; work a full-time job, be keepers of the home, take care of children, look perfect, be sexy but modest, be lighthearted, submissive, but also bosses. Society expects everything out of women, we are expected to be perfect. It's exhausting, I feel like my husband doesn't understand the pressure I experience every single day to be perfect.

@@daisylavenderloveQuite the opposite. Society doesn't expect women to be submissive, to be perfect or to be sexy. Hell, society doesn't expect women to get married or have children. Women face very little expectations from society. However, women who follow God face the expectations that He ordained upon them. In contrast men handle the vast burden of the expectations of society.

    • @daisylavenderlove
      @daisylavenderlove 28 днів тому

@@captainvanisher988 I guess it depends on who you ask. Society definitely places expectations on men but I do not understand why you believe that society doesn't expect anything of of women. You are a man so you have your own experience & I am a woman who was raised to be masculine & highly self-sufficient & independent but also learned through my romantic relationships that not only am I expected to work full-time, but I'm also expected to clean the whole house, cook, watch my figure, & always be happy & peaceful. If I do not, society thinks it's ok for my man to cheat on me because if I don't work, especially full-time, I'm lazy, if I don't watch my figure, he has free liberty to act on attractions to others because I don't respect him enough to care for my body, if I don't clean the house & neither does my husband, I will be judged as lazy, not him. You are entitled to your views but you do not understand what it is like to be a woman in this Era. A long, long time ago women didn't have any expectations placed upon them except to get married, have children, keep house, be obedient to their husbands, & be completely provided for & taken care of. Since several decades ago when women's presence in the workforce grew, & since then has grown more & more, women are now expected to work outside the home. If you ask many men if women should work, their answer is yes, because we are expected to be equals to men now. So yes, we are expected to do a lot.

In the end, we got rid of our authority but we still bear all the responsibility and we're paying for this. I don't think our unwillingness to take on responsibility is what led to this, though - on the contrary, it's that we didn't understand the immense responsibility which comes with authority, so we thought that hogging all of the authority for ourselves is somehow "oppressive" towards the ones we lead. Or maybe I'm just projecting because this is how I used to think before I understood what authority really was.

I thought this was a good video fr Moses a couple points I would add:
    - I'd be cautious blaming men today for mistakes in past history. Though, yes my tendencies to sin may be shared with Adam, I also did not help pass the 19th amendment or take a seat at the 1848 Seneca falls convention or enact VAWA or the Duluth model etc.
    - Additionally, while I think for sure God's punishments for Adam in toil were just, so were His punishments for Eve via increased subjection & birthing pains. How could this possibly not be the case?
    - Systemic factors are a greater impediment towards strong men, stable marriages, husband led-single bread winner 2 parent households than you'd probably like to admit or maybe understand. Factors such as:
    - No fault divorce w/ women gaining sole or majority custody over children
    - Media women are consuming which stirs up womens fallen tendencies to rebel & usurp
    - Other women in her family, social circle, & within her social media community actively looking to sabotage her good, godly marriage
    - Single mothers (rates skyrocketing) & female majority public school teachers will never be able to raise & develop a young boy into becoming a man
    - The absolute elimination of all male spaces such as gyms, bars, gentleman's clubs, police/fire dpt/military etc.
    - Not just DEI actively discriminating against men but various other female quotas in academia & complete garbage from ditzes in the HR department. These clueless young women often wholly indoctrinated by pseudo-sciences in the humanities like psychology
Every behavior of men is deemed as toxic including by many cowardly pastors & priests entrusted by the Lord to assist in shepherding his flock. Not calling you out here specifically but it's a common issue that I've seen

You should talk to your personal spiritual father about this but both are a option.
The orthodox church allows for a the innocent party a divorce and can get a 2nd marriage, but the offending party can never get remarried in the orthodox church if your church follows the canons. However, the Lord is loving and merciful to those who repent and we are to follow our master. So if your spouse is repenting then I would say help carry the cross together. But what do I know I'm just some dude online so please talk to your spiritual father.

I had to walk away from a relationship recently. I asked a woman(early 30s) if she could take no for an answer and she told me that she feels no is too harsh.
There was no particular context. It was just simply if she could take no for an answer and she told me no.
I’m a little scarred after this, not in the sense that I’m hurt, but in the sense that I’m discouraged with the idea of marriage if women today can’t handle any sense of assertiveness and or firmness when a man truly has the best interest of the family in mind.

The experience I have of leadership is at work. I have had situations where I was leading a team of a couple of people and with only one exception it was fine, the relationships were fine, there was good communication, they did the tasks I delegated them etc. But with one person right from the beginning it did not work and it lead me to wonder sometimes "what did I do wrong?". After reflecting a lot I could not find a particular thing I did and my conclusion was that the person was not in the mood or was irritated with something else or just plain deranged, because with all of the other persons it was fine.
So my conclusion was that there is just so much that you can do as a leader, the subordinates must also be willing to play their role. Unless you are in a situation like you are an army officer at a war that can execute a soldier that refuses to attack the enemy, there is just so much you can do, the person you are leading has to be willing to play their role too.

How are men supposed to lead? A man's wife is on the phone continuously posting photos of herself on instagram. Does he have the right to physically take her phone? A man's wife is constantly getting drunk with her friends. Does he have the right to lock her in the house?
Authority requires force. Is this what you are advocating? I'm not saying the use of force is morally wrong. I believe the use of physical force is a moral good when it is used in service to God's moral laws. Physical force is transformed into violence when not in service to God because it is in violation of the moral laws. However, I think we all know what is going to happen to a man who uses physical force to maintain moral leadership.
The question is would men abdicate responsibility to the degree they have if men actually had authority for what that which they were responsible? You might say that men can still lead without the authority to create consequences. However, that is not what God did to Adam and Eve. God created physical moral consequences for Adam and Eve's actions. Men have absolutely no way to do that with their wives in our society. It is wives who can inflict consequences upon their husbands for cause or for no cause.

A relationship where the woman puts a ring in the man’s nose and leads him passively around is one of the ugliest things I’ve ever seen. I agree with the replies, the unspoken fear of every married man who wants to change the dynamic is that she’ll reject correction and headship and leave with the kids. I can only say I’m sorry.
If you’re an unmarried man, learn to be as picky as a woman about the important qualities of your spouse. Feel out whether she can take correction and defer to your leadership when you disagree about something; if not, drop her like a hot potato. Do *not* expect to “fix” fundamental disobedience and disrespect. You’ll eventually find a woman who will respect you - I know I have.

There are 2 types of marriages: secular and biblical. Most all marriages are secular even when they are consummated in a church, because they are built upon secular principles. Thats why the divorce rate is reported (75%, which is actually much higher but reported low, yes its that bad). Marriages built upon biblical principles are made to endure. We have completely lost our way. At some point All secular marriages will fail. Its just like a house built upon sand. Look at the ratio: Secular 6 days a week, holy 1 day a week if you're lucky. You do the math.

7:50 - This gets to the problem with modern women. They're told constantly they need to be in charge, "I am woman hear me roar". So they do this, they demand to take charge, but naturally they don't want to be in charge. This contradiction, in addition to men permitting this to happen, is why so many modern women are so unhappy. They make war on their nature instead of accepting who they are. I've known a few women like this, they won't allow the man to have authority over them to begin with.
Then there's also the fact that modern men have been lied to our whole lives by women about what women really want. We were told constantly when growing up women want someone who is sensitive, not so masculine, etc. This is what we grew up with, is it any wonder things turned out the way they did?

Adam and Eve were simply the template for the basic issues that husbands and wives would encounter if they did not self correct themselves. The only thing you needed to emphasize was that husbands need to love their wife SACRIFICIALLY. That includes that a husband must NOT cheat on his wife. They use "emotionally unavailable" as an excuse. He can work all day and still come home and be properly intimate. His sacrifice of long work hours itself is a manifestation of his emotions towards her. Many of them gladly go for casual relationships with emotionally unavailable people despite what they may claim. It's the degradation of people's values and ideals which has led to this - no one treats their body as a temple and no one treats their family as a castle. Everyone looks for flings and tingles to distract themselves from their empty existence. It's almost impossible to find someone serious and by the time you do, it's likely that they themselves have been betrayed many times by others and have become disillusioned or cynical.
