My AirPods Max are the only Lightning Apple product I have left and I wish Apple would update them. I also wish they’d update the cheap feeling case to the Beats Fit Pro.
Agreed on the charging port, but the case is actually quite practical I find. I want something to help keep bugs and dust off of the drivers that’s quick and easy to put on/take off. It works great for that.
We need high bitrate music streaming on Airpods already. Even if "lossless" cant be done yet, it's been too long without an answer to competitors who are all pushing the envelope.

@@RiqMoran human hearing can’t discern between 256kbps MP3 and lossless. High res bitrates are basically the same above redbook. This has been studied. The AirPods Max are expensive, but they’re also really good and durable. Sony’s line of headphones has been plagued with durability issues for years (which has led to them being available on resale websites after being repaired for cheap).

It’s important you understand this while you’re young. Go on Wikipedia and search for: Codec listening test This has a list of numerous tests conducted comparing various codecs.

So I ended up getting something different hoping they would get updated soon. I’m guessing it was due to sweat moisture because I did wear them all day for work calls and listening to music and then into the evening watching my streaming shows. I like the noise canceling and sound much better than what I have but I haven’t run into similar issues with these Sony’s
I’ve had the AirPod pros 1st gen for a while now and was looking to upgrade to the 3rd gen if they release it. I’ve used the 2nd gen of then airpod pros before and they were substantially better sounding than my 1st gen. Hoping they upgrade them again next month for me to grab!
I’m only interested in AirPod pros, putting a screen on it sounds really stupid. Like you said the only thing I would want to see is the battery. They should put a little display that just shows battery charge.
Maybe if Apple actually upgraded the AirPods Max more often they would have better sales. The price is high for what you currently get in particular if you compare them to whats available in the same price range. I'm in the market for new headphones for travel and was hoping to get the Max's but not if they don't have some serious upgrades and or price reduction to align with other headphones in the same category.
My main gripe is that the AirPods Max is severely overpriced. This is a $379 headphone max. I suppose you can justify the $400 they’re going for now on Amazon if you really want a pair, but once the refresh hits that’s gonna get them right back up there at that $550 mark. Even with USB-C, while I love mine, I just can’t recommend them at that price. The “case” if you can even call it that, is poorly designed, begging for scratches and looks like a purse. That’s the only way they go to sleep too. I didn’t have the issue as severely as others, but are we gonna forget about the condensation build up? No wireless charging capabilities. The headband loses tightness over time, the ear cushions are stale and hard as rocks after a month.
Yup, so all the cheapskates can cry about it all they want, Apple is moving forward. Can’t wait to throw away all my lightning cables. Hopefully this year they upgrade the Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad, and the PowerBeats Pro’s to USB C as well.

I think theres a high likelihood that those leaks are wrong bc its common sense that it just makes zero sense. And these guys get things wrong ALL the time. But due to low info sometimes theyre not proven wrong until the product actually comes out so these rumors just get reposted over and over again bc there is no new info leaked.

I am glad you’re excited that they now come in USB-C. The rest of us have about 1000 lightning cables laying around the house. Don’t get me wrong. I’m glad that Apple switch to USB-C. But an update that only changes the plug and offers. No new features just doesn’t get me all excited.
I also am annoyed by the switch to usb c but it’s for good reason. Europe banned lightning which means they have to be usb c in Europe is it’s so much cheaper to just sell it usb everywhere rather then just in Europe. Also, usb c can power other devices and is much faster at uploading and downloading data.

I just think it's funny that the reason the EU gave for standardization was to cut e-waste, and it's definitely not doing so over the short haul. Also, it took them years to approve USB-C as the standard. What happens in 15-20 years when the next great improvement comes along? We'll have to wait for years for Europe to approve of it.
I'm holding out for the next Pros, especially if they will finally give us colors for them. Although the mockup I've seen of the rumored metallic blue Max's I've seen look dope, if they're only refreshing the color ways and turning to USB-C input, I'll hold off on those until the major hardware upgrade comes. Also, ESR makes great products! I have their halo ring that can be put on any case, I have it on my Latercase and it works flawlessly with the MagSafe wireless car charger I also have from ESR. Quickly becoming one of my go to brands for phone accessories.
I wouldn't be surprised if Airpods Max get cancelled. They're just too expensive. I've heard people favourably compared Airpods Pro 2 in terms of ANC and audio quality, and while they're impressive for earbuds, they're not _that_ good. Spending double the price on something that gets annihilated by Bose and Sony is stupid no matter how well it connects to Apple devices. They misread the market entirely. Max's aren't portable, are heavy, have a bad case. This class of headphone is typically desired for commuting. AP Max are designed to sit at home. If they were more comfortable i.e. all day usable, I could see the angle of selling it as a personal surround sound system for your Apple TV, but it doesn't even have spatial audio to begin with. Other than diehard Apple fanboys, who is this product for?
Imma buy a refurbished AirPods pro 2, since the pro 2 r already quite powerful and although it was released in 2022 it still powerful enough to last another 3-4years and having a screen on the new pro models simply look useless and will drain battery
Excited to see what apple does with the air pods 4. Although if they have ear tips I probably won’t be buying them. I tried out the airpods pro 2 with U.S.B.C. And I couldn’t wear them for more than in hour because my ears would hurt after listening to them.
I bought the top tier AirPods last year. Ended up giving them to a friend. Doesn’t matter how great they sound if they don’t stay in your ears. They literally fly out. Tried all the ear pieces. Did all the things cust service suggested. They just don’t work with my ear shape. I use the low end out of necessity. Those stay in and are comfortable for me. I live in fear of them being discontinued.
We need lossless support on airpods or airpods max. I wouldn't buy if they will not include it on the new models. Doesn't make sense when you pay for apple music lossless and you couldn't even get the highest quality. It's time for apple to consider this.
I would like to see Apple come out with a more "bud" style airpod rather than the stem style. I've never used airpods but they seem to be not a good fit for working out. I currently use a pair of Jabra Elite active. Can you comment to the fit of airpods pro for working out?

The problem is that most of what audiophiles demand aren’t audibly superior and just add to costs. Human hearing isn’t that great.

Apple needs to let us control the ANC! They reduce the ANC with updates. I want to decide its intensity myself! And let us decide when to update!
If apple could release an air pod pro with mini led screen it will definitely be pro level.
