In Brazil we want so bad to own one of this but is IMPOSSIBLE!!! We could buy one only from europe, price+shipping+taxes costs some ~2k brazilian real, its the price of one good water pump for a ea888, or 2 good tyres 235/45 r17 fron conti or an miche primacy 4. Thats a huge expense!!! In US this costs 199? or 149? in europe some 200 euros? thats 10% of an low tier salary, in brazil 2k is about 2 months of low income work just for an scanner!!! You are LOSING tons of money here, the people just buy an chinese crap copy for 150 brazilian real (~30 bucks) and replace it when they break!!!
I want the original rosstech vcds but for a not ridiculous price! Please, we need a local dealer for your products right away! WV sells a lot here since forever!

Selling a digital online product like this means it transcends international boarders. Volkswagen exist in almost every market and have the distribution network to sell the vehicles at lower prices in lower regions. Software cannot do the same. If it is sold cheap in one nation because the cost of living is lower, then everybody buys at the lowest price. Sadly this means regions like Brazil are the losers.
I would encourage VCDS to look at locking cheaper versions of software by physical postal address, not only VIN. It can be done.
@@omardude39 i concour, price is an problem but its ok for what offers, the real problem is price PLUS expensive shipping plus taxes cause by this expensive shipping they use. 400 us dolars its fine, not cheap but fine, but here this will cost almost 800 us dolars, thats a real problem... local distribution its a MUST!
have a tool that has most of ODIS systems shouldnt be allowed, all security options have to be used through ODIS and ODIS REQUIRES the user to sign up and have a CLEAR, i repeat CLEAR police record. this tool would allow thieves to break in and adapt new keys very easily.
Just received mine yesterday. Have a 2003 TT with a few issues . . ABS, and Lambda sond. ABS is caused mainly by the car being dormant for 8 months of the year. . and the VCDS pointed me to Lambda oxygen sensor 2. Thanks for your video.
I have owned a VCDS since the VAG-COM days, and it has saved me a ton of money, time, and grief on my 2001 Passat wagon.

I just received my VCDS Cable i ordered from Ross Tech which is located out in Pa. They process each order as they are received. Plus they ship exactly as you request them to ship your VCDS Cable. Now i have to get the software which if i fully understood the representative i have to contact them back for the software to be sent i think. It has the update info as well support info attached to the Hex-V2 dual -k & CAN interface device they send you that you order. I strongly advise anyone to verify with Ross-Tech which specific cable actually is required for your needs. So your not placing order for wrong item ..

i bought mine around 2015 £250ish from gendam in the uk ...used it first time today to do my rear pads on my mk7 golf to wind the parking brake back and then back on....worked great but my car was uds...i was thinking it would be can...so was a bit different to do but youtube helped me sort it....all done and test drove..100% now..well happy

So my 2012 Audi has been sitting for 3 weeks at Audi as it was towed in due to my car not starting at all or any lights coming on. When Audi noticed it had an aftermarket remote start they said technician don’t want to diagnose or touch the car until the remote start comes out completely. Is this VCDS something that I could have used to pin point what the issue was without removing the remote start or? Please any info is greatly appreciated. I’m also still waiting to get the remote start pulled out, so car is still currently just sitting at dealership

Great video, thank you for posting. I just ordered at VCDS - 10 vin unit. I have had Audis for 25 years, mostly always under warranty so , never needed one. I now have an out of warranty 2017 Q3 and in the US , Audi dealers near me cannot find technicians , so it is 4-56 weeks to get an oil change and service reminders reset. So I did my own oil change 6 months ago and found they had not tightened and never replaced the drain plug ( I don't believe judging by the paint on the drain plug ) , I had lost a quart of oil , belly pan was wet under oil pan.... So, I am DONE with Audi dealerships, I am mechanical but never owned a code scanner. So, anyway, I appreciate being able to see what I am getting into.

I find dealers give such things as oil changes to their junior technicians, while the high-paid technicians work on higher value and more difficult repairs.
So your more likely to get someone who doesn't know, or care, what torque to tighten your drain plug and filter at, and who may even grab an air impact gun to tighten it.
I got my previous Volvo S60 back after dealer oil change with the aluminum oil drain crush washer tightened so tight the washer had been squished paper thin, and was actually pushed out around the base of the drain plug.
Another time I had my TDI Jetta in for service, and the technician screwed up the installation of the replacement fuel filter, which caused it to gush fuel all over the inside of the engine compartment, before I checked for the strong smell of diesel fuel. Fortunately diesel fuel has a low flash point, but still, there was a significant fire risk. At least they repaired the leak and gave me an engine compartment flush.
As a result I try to do as many of the service items myself. I can ensure fasteners are torqued properly and can inspect for potential problems before they become big problems.

VCDS actually has more options than ODIS. Also doesn’t require yearly fees. But yes I agree you should have VCDS if you own a VAG-COM vehicle.

A quick question, can the VCDS turn on the front side light without a switch physically turned on? I am using the VW Scirocco 2011 and that has no DRL like in R model. I just want to set the front side light on after I changed the bulb to LED.

I have an questions about my Nrs510, the security code came up, I went to the dealer to get payed $79 for the code and said he can't put it in. The screen is not responding to put the code in. I took the battery off overnight, reboot the radio working and welcome sign up radio turns off. I turn radio on again radio station coming up for second no sound and security screen appear again and can't put any number in nevermind the right one. I'm exhausted. Some people might have an answer.

Yes you can mate I fitted cruise to my 2009 tdi a3 then coded with vcds. Hope this helps 😊👍

Hi it won't update itself you have to click on update. Ideally use with no internet connection when connected to the vehicle.

You can do that without vcds.
To perfrom the DSG gearbox perfrom the following steps. Be aware that it does not give you any visual feedback on the dash.
1. Put the key in the ignition and turn on - Do not start the car
2. Hold down the accelerator pedal fully for at least 10 seconds (many suggest 20 seconds). You will feel a little click under your foot at you push down the pedal fully.
3. Release the pedal - turn the key in the ignition. You can now start the car normally
If the DSG reset is successful you may hear some shifting mechanical sounds from the gearbox.

The garage who serviced the unit should have done the adaptations as part of the service. If you search on YT for your specific unit there are lots of vids on how to use VCDS to relearn/adapt.
@@robberhd3218 The DSG adaptations need to be done properly via VCDS or ODIS as part of the service, usually every 38k miles. The procedure needs to be done with the box up at a specific minimum temp so not sure where you got the idea that it can be done using the ignition/throttle alone?
Help! I have a red alert on my 2012 VW Caravelle for low oil pressure. But the engine has had a full overhaul done and the mechanic can find zero mechanical issues. The engine runs very smoothly and is quiet (I cannot run through all the parts changed and things checked in this post - it's comprehensive). We are assuming it is an intermittent electrical issue at this stage. The alert comes on periodically but only briefly. It will go out before I could come to a stop. I'm now thinking I could be running my VCDS live whilst I'd driving in the hope of capturing the issue (it isn't showing up in the scans after a drive). Does anyone know what I should be monitoring? Any other advice or tests I could be running using VCDS? I know how bad low oil pressure is to an engine, by the way. Like I alluded to, I'm a long, long way down that road already.

@@MegaWingnut12 Yes. By replacing the engine! The Bi-Turbo CFCA engines in my van get knackered by a faulty DPF. The early model disintegrated and scored the pistons. My engine started smoking just after this post. Unfortunately I spend thousands trying to get it fixed and then even more thousands replacing the whole thing. The van is still a money pit but finally ok (but it’s only been 2 days out of the garage lol).
