      To be honest, I don’t know how much meat is inside the Pteranodon, because it looks more bone than flesh. And given how Mosasaurus was either not fed or it was her feeding time during the Pteranodon attack, it plus Zara are probably not enough to fixate her stomach.

    When I first saw the mosasaur in the JW trailer, I lost my mind, I love that it's joined the pteranodons and dimorphodons as a nondinosaur in the films. But I'm surprised it was almost in the films before then, JP3 went through A LOT.

      I didn't really even think much of the mosasaurus before. But when the trailers showed that massive monstrous animal come out of the water and snap its amazing jaws eating a great white shark whole, it was pretty awesome. Also a metaphor for how some of the kings of beadts of today are but snacks to the mighty dinosaurs. Like Rexy and the lion in Fallen Kingdom. Although Rexy doesn't eat the lion, but the comparison is still there.

    • @melvinshine9841
      @melvinshine9841 6 років тому +13

      It does seem to be inconsistent size-wise. I don't know as much about mosasaurs as I'd like but as far as I know, real ones got around the 45-50 ft range. There are some shots were the JW mosasaur's head alone looks 12+ feet long. Comparing shots from JW when the mosasaur snatches the Indo, and bits from Fallen Kingdom they look like different animals.

      @JJ That's the same thing I thought. If I'm not wrong,it's said that some extra proteins were added to the Indominus to make him growing faster and don't wait too much before the public could see him. Mosasaur could have obtained these proteins by eating him.

      I somehow get the feeling that at the end of Fallen Kingdom, the directors only wanted us to think about how humans would cope with the existence of dinosaurs on the mainland, but not how the ecosystems would be impacted.
      Anyways, coastal tourism and Gulf/Atlantic fisheries in the JW universe are probably going to tank if the public knows that thing is swimming around.

    • @gregorymckenzie7511
      @gregorymckenzie7511 6 років тому +1

      That would actually be a pretty nice and respectable ending if done right. Heck, I'll make a speech supporting it.
      "With genetically altered, prehistoric animals causing havoc in the world, and unscrupulous corporate entities repeatedly wanting to use them as weapons (for some reason); the threat that the dinosaurs present should be very well acknowledged by now. Yet something more must be done; as humans are just as much apart of nature as they see themselves separate from it. We have a place in this world, alongside all the other life we evolved around, and the life that has evolved around us. With chaos looming more heavily upon human society and the natural ecosystems of this planet, it can no longer be said that the fates of these creatures -brought into the world through the abuse of scientific advancements for unethical endeavors- cannot be left to nature. It is time for humanity to apply its intuitive and thoughtful nature to remove these creatures from this world. To remain complacent about this travesty upon our world would be a great error that will scar humanity for ages to come. Human error felled the island that brought these creatures into existence. They broke the walls of their home, and now they are here at our walls; ready to tear them down. We are supposed to learn from our errors and mistakes... but we're also supposed to clean up after them, and not let them continue to endanger ourselves and others; for that would be an even more grave mistake. These creatures must be eliminated to avoid harming any ecosystems and civilizations that they may interact with."

    I actually didn't know the Mosasaur was originally supposed to be in Jurassic Park 3, though I find it interesting since years before Jurassic World 1 was released, there were fanmade ideas of it being about underwater prehistoric animals like Mosasaur exclusively. I even remember a fanamde trailer on UA-cam showing clips of Sam Neil from various films and it strictly having underwater creatures instead of dinosaurs. I remember being obsessed with it, and when I said the Mosasaur for in the REAL Jurassic World trailer I remember getting so excited, I was like a kid even though I'm 25 XD Great video!

    As someone who loves JP/JW movies, I also love Shark and crocodile/alligator movies. So, for me by adding the mosasaurus it creates this dinosaur movie with an edge. Because land dinosaurs are stuck on the island unless a human moves them, whilst an aquatic animal can escape, then swim in the vast oceans and essential disappear. It’s why shark movies are rather popular 🦈

    What about in "Jurassic Park the Game" which takes place right after the events of the first movie. The Mosasaur features very prominently in that game where the characters need to swim across the tank and evade it and where there is a battle with one of the park's scientists who wants to release it into the wild. The whole scene takes place in an aquarium like enclosure on Isla Nublar which is not featured in the original movie but naturally leads us to believe underwater dinosaurs were being bred at the original park in 1993 meaning the Mosasaur's history with InGen begins much earlier.

    I always wanted it to be revealed that a pod of freshwater Plesiosaurs inhabit Island Sorna's interconnected rivers. And, despite InGen's stripping of the island's eco system, they're still there. Subsisting off large, cloned prehistoric fish which share the rivers with them.

    I'm pretty sure that if a Mosasaur appeared in Jurassic Park 3 the movie would have been a little bit better, at least I think it would have been awesome to just see a mosa in JP 3. Just imagine seeing one in that movie! JP 3 is my least favorite of the franchise (and I'm pretty sure it is everyone else's least favorite). But if a mosa appeared in it, than I would have liked the movie a lot more!
    And btw, had no idea the mosa was this "old" in the franchise, I thought the only time it ever appeared was in Jurassic World!
    This is a pretty big comment so if there is any grammar errors in it please forgive me.

    A personal theory of mine is that the mosasaurus is a hybrid between actual mosasaurus DNA and megalodon DNA and my reasons are that one the mosasaurus is heavily scaled up compared to evidence in the fossil record which was obviously so to the seen with the indominus rex but in universe could be accounted for due to the massive size of megalodon, another thing I notice is the fact that our evidence implies that the mosasaurus preferred to hunt in shallow waters and would because of that likely been a bit uncomfortable in the very deep tank we see in the mosasaurus show scene and we also still see evidence that It does prefer more shallow waters because in the scene sited earlier during the show it mentions that "she's a little shy" and also in fallen kingdom is seen hanging out around a beach which would have more shallow waters than the open ocean however it does still seem very comfortable with deep waters which would have more likely been the environment of the megalodon but what i think is the best evidence of the mosasaurus being part megalodon is in camp cretaceous when the kids are in the mosasaurus lagoon sammy well observing the creatures behavior notes that "it's acting like a shark" I also think it's possible that the mosasaurus might also have a bit of icthiasaurus DNA because of its behavior of jumping out of the water which is something that sharks do but I think that part maybe accounted for by icthiasaurus do to its dolphin like body which implies it likely behaved similar to dolphins.

    Has the fandom decided upon a name for the Mosasaurus yet? If not, I think it's time for this dino character that's become so beloved to have one. It's well earned it. :)

    I didn't know it was in the draft JPIII script, but it had always been my assumption that a mosasaur or some species of plesiosaur was responsible for killing the people on the boat at the beginning (yes I know it was actually pteranodon; just what I'd thought for about 15 years!)
