Every gun patterns different even if it's same brand, same shell brand, same choke, same load etc. It's a general over view so don't think to deep into it
@@nwesternoutdoors3830 Not thinking to deep, just saying ya can't pattern 2 different guns with different chokes and find the "Best aftermarket choke for waterfowl" You yourself said every gun patterns different. A better evaluation would be to run 3-5 guns, with the same MFR choke, for each gun, and then see which MfR choke, had consistent results. Then you would have the "Best aftermarket choke for waterfowl." I've had consistent Patterns with Rob Roberts chokes.

Good practice to pattern at longer distance, i don't shoot at healthy birds past 50 or so usually but it's good to know what's happening at extended ranges when trying to finish wounded birds
I wish you included the factory extended choke tubes that are included with the SBE3 in this comparison. Any idea how these 3rd party tubes compare to the factory choke tubes? Would love to see a comparison on that and it's very difficult to find information where people to comparisons to what Benelli provides with the gun.
There were no extended choke tubes provided just standard cylinder, improved cylinder, modified, and full. Modified is the tightest choke to safely shoot steel out of. That's why aftermarket chokes for steelshot were made. Modified is good to about 35 yards

If you go Benelli's official website for the SBE3, it even states "extended Crio choke tubes." Additionally, here is a whole discussion on it. I have the patternmaster code black goose on my 30” barrel 1187 and it’s deadly.. too deadly. I’ve completely ruined black ducks out past 50 yards with it
There are some full chokes that you can shoot steel through, but do not shoot steel through an extra full choke. These chokes he’s using have very minimal constriction, if any (the Pattern Master Code Black Goose strips the wad from the shot and doesn’t constrict at all). An extra full choke constricts lots…too much for steel shot to safely pass through.

Why in the world are you shooting past 50 with steel let alone #4s that have little energy past 40? It’s informative but could be incredibly misleading to those that don’t have experience or knowledge in the ballistics/penetration tables associated with steel shot.
I am not directly encouraging long shots, just a comparison of chokes. In theory, the tighter pattern at long range the tighter they'll pattern at short range
@@nwesternoutdoors3830 that is understandable. But without that sort of clarification, there are going to be new/uneducated hunters that will be encouraged to take these sort of shots on waterfowl after seeing these results.
Shooting beyond 40 yards, or even 30 yards with #4 steel is sketchy. I wouldn't shoot at anything beyond 40 -50 yards with any size of steel. Just doesn't have the knock down power.

These chokes will preform differently with different brands, guages, and lengths of guns. The goal of this video was to put out a general overview that will give the viewer a broad idea of how the chokes preform against other top brands. Also it is assumed the viewers have done their own research on these chokes and how they work. Goal of the video was to be short, a full overview could take an hour on each choke
Hate to say it but your test won’t be accurate different guns patter different with different brands of shells your sx3 might not like Kent’s but your nova does

Should pattern the same gun, with different chokes to get an accurate assessment. Lots of Variables with different barrels, cones etc.

Definitely takes away some not a lot, but in turn, it makes the gun louder, unfortunately.

If you can't hit ducks it does not matter what they use. give them a single shot with a fixed bore.

There are some full chokes that you can shoot steel through, but do not shoot steel through an extra full choke. Patterenmaster you should be using code black duck not goose is made for 3.1/2 shells duck is for 3 inch shells give you full patteren
Patternmaster advertises that code black goose works EQUALLY as well with 2 ¾ as well as 3 inch shells, still delivering a full pattern

Muller choke is better than my kicks
Plan on making a part two including muller passing choke, factory choke and some other brands I’ve heard about

It’s a baseline test, not everyone’s going to be shooting the same guns as me or shells
