Black cloud has more recoil likely from use of faster burning powder vs slower in the other, or a harder wad material, both of which cause a sharper pressure curve, and more felt recoil. Muzzle velocity only tells you how fast that payload is moving at the 28" mark. It doesnt say any info on how fast it gets there. If you go 100mph in an 1/8th of a mile in 2 seperate cars, youre going the same speeds at the fiish line. One could launch off to 100mph in the first 300ft while the other just barely gets to 100mph at the finish line. The faster one slams you into the seat at launch. The slower one just accelerates smoothly and comfortably. Same with a shotgun.
I run Muller from an a400 with the steelium plus and I love them honestly brother keep up the good work and keep bringing the good news
I’ve got great patterns with the Carlsons Bismuth Bone Buster chokes and Boss shells. Shooting SX4 20 gauge.
I mean you sold me. Going to go with that choke and BOSS shells. Like your shirt also
That my combo. And I get over 80% in my groups all the time. Boss #3/5's and passing. Patterning at 25 and 45yrds. Boss just suits these chokes so well
Thanks man I appreciate it
I use them for clay targets and really love them! About to buy a few for waterfowl!
Well I'm sure you'll like the Waterfowl chokes. Use code CASEL10 to save you some $$$
And I'm not sure what shells your planning on shooting this season, but I definitely would recommend getting some Salt Creek Custom Ammunition.
I just finished testing some custom shells I had him make and boy they pattern amazing at 20/30yds. They are a 2 3/4" 1 1/2oz #5 bismuth traveling 1250fps. Would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND. They pattern great out of the Muller Decoy choke.
I'm actually going to post a video of me patterning them later tonight. So make sure you have the notifications on so you can watch it!
Kent faststeel has a 1 3/8 Oz 3 inch shells at 1300 fps they pattern great out of my muller passing and decoy choke.
Ok
Kent patterns just fine out of stock chokes too.
Not as good as muller though
What your max range
With that setup in the video, about 40-45
How about some patterns with 2 shot an BB 3 in, in different shells.
If you go watch my new steel vs TSS video, I patterned the passing choke with 3in #2 Rio shells. And they patterned phenomenally
do they make chokes for the Stevens 301 slingshot 12g shotgun ??
What choke thread pattern does it take?
@@coocspursuits honestly don't know but am researching to find out . I bought it a month ago I'm searching to find info on the choke threads
@@robert4027 if you want to talk to Devon witch is the guy who works for muller he should be able to answer your questions. This is his phone number he said you can text him or call him. 9048054354
Can you shoot lead out of these chokes?
Yes you can shoot any shot type
Lower velocity always patterns better for longer ranges. 1200fps or less winchester makes. Hard to find but if you xan get them they absolutely fuck
So what gun where you using
My Winchester SX4 12ga
Keep Goin!!!☺
Thanks, subscribe. I have another Muller video coming out in the next week
Yes, you want better patterns, slow down the velocity.
Steel shot never patterns real well out of any choke... Muller chokes are very popular on clay Shooting ranges...
I’m only commenting because you don’t have any comments and you’re complaining about it so here’s your comment
That’s awfully white of you …..
Dang i just ordered my choke 2 days ago. Missed my chance to use the code .. maybe ill have to order a ufo now
The UFO is a really good choke I like it, and you can shoot any type of shot out of it, but it has to be smaller than slugs and buck shot. But if you go watch one of my newest videos I patterned it with Apex ammunition waterfowl TSS. at 80yds and it did amazing. It is a extra full also
Dang, I went for decoy. Maybe I should have gone for passing.
Wouldn't hurt to buy another lol
The decoy is a light modified, the passing is a improved modified
Passing is terrible too
Pattern the UFO soon. Thanks
Go watch my newest video, I patterned the UFO with Apex TSS
You are pulling your shotgun left when patterning.
Jeb’s are the best of all I have ever used.
If you go watch surviving duck season he does Muller vs jebs and Muller did better
@@coocspursuits Please don’t take this comment as being negative towards you or him. I have watched that video and really disagree with his assumption of Jeb’s. They make high quality choke tubes. I do agree with most of what he says. Non ported almost always performs better than ported. He only tried one Jebs choke tube and it was a ported choke and it was a .690 constriction choke. I have been pattern testing shotguns, ammo, barrels, and tubes very extensively for over 25 years. The video he made is only a fraction of the number of guns, tubes, barrels, and shells I’ve tested on paper and game. Carlson and Briley non ported chokes are usually reliable, but have seen more Ported Carlson choke tubes that were poor quality. There are some wads that do not separate from shot constantly causing erratic patterns and Most of the time a ported choke tubes designed to separate the wad from shot will improve patterns with those loads. There’s an enormous amount of factors to everything in the shotgun world.
Jeb’s are the worst choke tubes I have ever tried
80 yards? Really?
Yes really, I've seen it, and I'm going to make a video of me patterning it at 80 yards in the next few weeks so subscribe and ring the notification bell so you know when I post it
Sky Blasting
We shoot a lot of meet shoots, some call them chippers or back fence, most are 80 to 120 yards. My oldest coast to coast 660c does better than the krieghoff kx-5. But the stoger 3200 20 gauge gets them out there too.
Nice vid.
Thanks
I've not seen what I call a good, evenly distributed pattern yet out of these things to be so hyped up. Including the ones I just bought. I shot 4 different loads thru my passing choke so far and the only one that did decent at 40 yds was a nitro express long range lead 2..which u can't use on waterfowl..the rest had big gaping holes, uninformed and I shot them side by side with my old Angle-port chokes I've used since the 90s when Rob Roberts ran the place, and it was better than all the muller patterns in uniformity and number of pellets...I'm pissed to say the least after buying into the hype..my patterns look like yours..like garbage. And BTW my benelli also has the forcing cone lengthened..I'm sending my mullers back asap and btw.."they pattern best" with a load that isnt avaliable. 1200fps or less 😂 wtf
They pattern better with low fps loads, 1300fps works best, boss make a 3" #3/5 bismuth and they pattern really good out of the choke at 80 yards even. Go watch some of my newest videos with the Muller Chokes, I got deadly patterns out to 80 yards
Sounds like you need to use the UFO muller choke if you want tighter patterns. If you get it let me know how it performs
Anything faster than 1300 it blows your pattern out but everyone believes the high velocity steel marketing
Exactly
The pain I had reading this. Shotgun ballistics do not work the same as rifles. And realistically 95% of duck hunters don’t shoot past 35 yards. Insert “oh I killed one of them there spotted leopard hybrid mallard Canada gooses at 75 with my Jebs ultra tight bun hole choke”. If you are patterning and want optimal pattern at 35 or more you HAVE to step down your shot size to atleast 2 shot and even then you ONLY have 121 pellets in a 3” shell. Muller himself tells you, you need 90-100 in a 30” circle to be lethal. Lightweight pellets do not hold energy no matter how fast you throw them patterns just blow up. Surviving duck season did a video and showed that 200fps slower only moves the shot string a few inches at range on ducks so AKA negligible.
Carlson are just as good and cheaper
Video comes out this weekend
@@coocspursuits I'm going on a 2 week high desert chukar hunt. Or ide watch I think Ile be out of service in eastern Oregon
Ah well you can always watch it when you get back!!
like to see the UFO choke pattern.
I have a video where I patterned it with TSS on my channel
Carlsons are better and the owner of carlsons isn't a lying tool
Well I patterned both with the same shell and Muller did better, but carlson is still a good choke
Everybody has their favorite chokes. I shoot a lot of sporting clays, Continental, and meet shoots. There is a number of people shoot the Miller's and they all love them. Talked to buy who had them over 10 years. One was cracked and they sent a brand new one free of cost.
Only saw one guy shooting carlsons, other than the ones I shoot in my 20 guage for competition.
That's muller, not miller
Everything in life is a compromise. Even lead 1145 fps target loads pattern better than 1300 fps target loads.
You compromise pattern for energy. Whether the difference is worth it is debatable. By the time you get out to 40 yards the gap between a 1400 fps and a 1550 fps tightens up a lot.
Carlson is usually better than OEM and Muller is usually better than Carlson for me when I try all three. That could just be an artifact because I usually pattern OEM, then Carlson and then Muller, but I don't change unless the pattern is bad to start with. Honestly I've fixed a gun a lot of times with just switching OEM chokes as they can be pretty inconsistent from one to another.
Hello,I've been doing research on Muller chokes and thinking of buying one . What is mullers a lying tool about ? I try to be informed before I buy
Dude you need some work on these videos
Yeah lol that was almost a year ago. My videos are definitely a lot better now.
