    Thanks guys. I have an sX4 so this was cool. I'd like to see some bismuth patterns with 4 or 5 shot. Maybe some steel 3 shot too? It would also be sweet to compare the Carlson Cremator to the Carlson Delta choke. Thanks gentlemen

    After sighting in at 60 feet, I could easily cover 5 shots with a nickel ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxQt2uORDRfFOVSrO4idv4B90ThT6EOnEL ! Truly a pleasure to shoot! Scope was easy to adjust for eye relief. Only problem the varmints must have seen it delivered lol!Update: So impressed with shot groups at 30 yards I purchased a Hammers 3×9 with adjustable Objective scope! Now a true nail driver!

    Do this test with Carlson and kicks mid range. My experience shows the long range chokes are a waste of money. I get better long range patterns with the mid ranges. Good video!

    I have a question, I have a SBE3 12 gauge and I have always used modified or improved cylinder for geese. This might sound like a dumb question, but how does the choke not blow up a barrel? Especially the long range chokes? And also which choke tube would you recommend for a SBE3 12 gauge?

    • @WhisperingWild
      @WhisperingWild  2 роки тому +2

      Hey Mike, each choke manufacture has different requirements for shot size on their chokes. However, I shoot a Carlson Ported Cremator choke either mid range or long range for geese and ducks. That specific choke for my gun has no shot size requirements I believe. That means in that specific choke I can shoot whatever I want through it without any issues. That would be the choke I recommend looking into. Their are many different options out their to choose from though. I know Will likes his Kicks highflyer choke which is a very popular choke for waterfowl loads as well. Hope this helps!

    Hey buddy, you shouldn't shoot a wad controlling shell with the cremator it has a TST technology that gradually constrict the passage on 3 steps, that's what tge manufacturer says.

    • @galaxys7650
      @galaxys7650 2 роки тому +2

      Meaning don't shoot black cloud out of this choke. Manufacturers design their Black Cloud chokes to accommodate the flite control wad. Carlson makes a specific choke for Black Cloud. Other manufacturers do too, and most of them say the exit hole is a slightly smaller constriction on their Black Cloud specific chokes. Do your research to avoid wasting your cash, folks.

    • @zackt19k88
      @zackt19k88 2 роки тому +5

      That’s false. They changed the wads. The old black clouds yes. There is literally a video of federal employees doing a review shooting them outta kicks HF Full, Mod, and IC.

      @@WhisperingWild 30 inch circle with a aiming point in the middle. Shoot your target at any given range you want. Count the total number of hits within the circle and divide the total into the total of pellets that are in the shell. 75 to 80% is really good. You are also looking for about 2.5 lbs of energy per pellet at least for the range you are shooting. You should shoot off a rest to help with accuracy. Each load should be shot 3 times at the range you want to pattern it with. Above all you are looking for uniform patterns in the circle with little or no blank spots. There you have it.

    Pattering at 50 yards is stupid looks like you are trying to promote sky busting if you can’t call a duck within 30 yards you don’t need to out there . If you want shoot at 50 yards go to a sporting clays range then you will find out how good you really are.

    • @WhisperingWild
      @WhisperingWild  3 роки тому +12

      Haha not at all buddy. Just trying to pattern our guns and understand how they operate at those distances. No difference than practicing shooting your bow at 65 yards when in a real hunting situation shooting under 35 yard at an animal.

    • @doncherry2541
      @doncherry2541 3 роки тому +7

      Buddy 50 yards is pushing it but it’s still reasonable if your running a good tight choke… i feel like your just mad because you can only hit ducks 20 yards or closer😂

    • @bobgordon1754
      @bobgordon1754 3 роки тому +4

      I would not go to the river with a shotgun that wouldn't kill a duck at fifty yards. It's too easy to misjudge range over open water and if your gun is up to the task it's no big deal. If you don't shoot past 35 yards patterning your shotgun is a waste of ammo. With very few exceptions any choke will do at those ranges. Just because someone don't hunt like you do don't make them stupid. I've been shooting ducks for more than fifty years and I've seen many days that if I had limited my shots to thirty yards I would go home empty handed. As far as cripples go that's why I bring a dog. My dogs are good enough that if I put the duck down they're in the bag unless they crawl into a beaver hole. As far as shooting at fifty yards often people hit ducks over the decoys that hit the water crippled at fifty or even sixty yards. If you want to finish them off you better not be shooting imp cyl. Shooting is supposed to be fun,even if you learn something you don't plan on using.
