Clay you’re a beast I got a question that’s been bugging me though, so I’m a concrete guy have been for 5 years and I want to get my gc but when I start I want to get all excavations and cement for myself and the rest I can contract out but how would you put that out to the customers like would you just have a plain company name with construction at the end of it or what would you suggest?

Thanks for the kind words Terrance. You should market yourself as a general contractor. Reason is, concrete will fall under your main roll as a GC. Also, make it clear to you current customers (mainly the GC’s you work for) that you intention will never include competing against them. This is important because you will still need their jobs while you make this transition. Again, market yourself strictly as a GC because that is the main goal. If you are know as EX: Terrance General Contracting And Foundain. The foundain part will discount you as a GC to a potential client. Hope this helps!
