That reverse head tele-bass is undoubtedly a tribute to Dusty Hill of ZZ Top who passed away last year. He had a lot of those basses with reverse headstocks, and some with even reverse body too. Really cool!
Gotta love when people don't read in on the homework..
Exactly!
You beat me to it! Definitely a Dusty influence…
Trogly's in the HOUSE!!!
GREG is in the HOUSE
Greg in the house
Yaaay Greg
I used to think multi neck guitars were a joke, until I inherited a 1970's p-bass/strat fender double neck. It became my go to instrument for song writing. Very convenient for coming up with bass lines to compliment the chord pattern. Unfortunately it was stolen from my car trunk after a gig. So it goes.
I realized the same thing with a Rickbacker one. Great for song writing especially when jamming with another writer.
Trogly’s in the house!!!!!

Yay!!
So close Adam. Enjoy your Silver Medal brother.
@@sgt.grinch3299 Lmao, y’all can stop. Idgaf if I’m first or last
i dig the figured walnut top, hardly ever seen a walnut top like that.
And yesssss!!! Those carved top teles. I love those!! That's what my mind goes to when I think of what a telecaster should look like.
The esquire is superb
Saw the 9 neck... Just why....
LOVE the look of that stained glass tele
Great video too
Wow
Ditto
Well done you made the podium again and earned a Bronze Medal.
Rumor has that Nigel Tufnel has commissioned an 11 neck in response.
I am in love with that 9 neck
I would love to see you be able to do a demo on that violin Telecaster as well as the green 3 pickup Telecaster with the unusual vibrato arm on it and the switches, very unusual but cool!
Great Video Trogly!!
The “custom shop queue” quote had me rolling.
The custom made RSD Jazzmaster bridges used on those La Paloma Telecasters are impossible to find.
If you can find one they typically cost $400+ as they are only available on Custom Shop guitars.
Who’s this guitar for? Doctor Octopus?
“The power of guitar… in the palm of my hand”
Definitely some wild fenders you found there Austin!
Cool episode 😎
FWIW John 5 now owns (or did own) that stained glass Esquire. There are videos out there of him playing it live.
Also, they did build a custom roadcase for the 9 neck. It was about the size of a coffee table.
Please do more of these fender custom shop :)
Please do more Fender Content!
Les Pauls are my favorite guitar, an 80's or 90's wine red to be precise. But after all the exposure I've had to tele's on your channel over the years and finally playing one, I'v really come around to a buying a tele.
FBI.Dean congrats which one did you buy and how do you like it?
Me too a bought a Esquire squier 60's vibe butterscotch and it sound amazing !!!!👍
R.J. Dean wow that is quite a changeup from a Les Paul! Does your telecaster have the standard two single coil pickups? I'm not a big Telecaster fan but I appreciate their sound intone an impact in music. I do kind of like that Troublemaker tele in the parallel universe series as well as the Jazz tele
@@jonathanhudak2059 Havent bought one yet but I played a troublemaker tele with the 2 humbuckers & it was awesome. What little time I had with it seemed very versatile.
I'd like to see the output jack and wiring in that 9 neck fender..... Switching could be a nightmare!
In all fairness, I assume this is primarily intended as a novelty collector's piece. I doubt it's really intended to be played.

That Thinline tele, reminds me of jack white’s guitar he calls the three wheel motion, it has the wide range, p-90 and a lace sensor pickups. And lots of other interesting things, I wish he would do a signature model.
Fender has rarely used ebony for fretboards so the 9-neck not having it makes sense from Fender's perspective
I have a custom shop tele in sonic blue, mint green pick guard with ebony. One of my favorites!
On that Telecaster - shaped bass, the bridge pickup is from a Jazz Bass, but the neck pickup is specifically from the 1951 - 1956 Precision Bass, which was reprised from 1968 - 1971 as.... the Telecaster Bass. So it makes sense why that small, 4-pole single coil pickup is mounted there.
This is madness!
I liked that green quilted the best.
That 9 neck is meant to be shaped like a surfboard. And the pre-CBS fretboard wood missing is Pau Ferro.
the Rick Nielson model... 9 necker
The blue tele bass actually reminds me of a discontinued Squier tele bass.
awesome video dude
You've never seen those bridges? They are common on custom shop jazzmasters and jaguars.
Coolest vid yet, Trog. 🤟🏼✌️🐲✊
I'm surprised you didn't include the video of the 9 neck playing "99 red balloons" that's floating around
That thin line tele with the offset vibrato 😍
The chrome Strat looks like tribute to the chrome Boss 302 available to club members
The California special is nice. :)
The 1st and last are my favorites odd but true
I seen that 9 neck earlier on instagram today pretty interesting guitar
There was a guitar-centric show here in St. Louis a few years ago. I went the last day and saw that freak nine neck! They also had a video of all nine necks being played at once!
Is it on YT ?
I kind of dig the California Special
I think Jimmy Page used a Fender 12 string for Stairway to Heaven. I do know for sure it wasnt a Gibson.
"A nice pair." 5:27

Funny as it seems, I just saw a picture of Rick Nielsen with the 9-neck-beast JUST prior to seeing your icon for this video. These Teles are just marvelous...all of 'em.
Austin, based on your gravitation toward Les Pauls and Telecasters, I wonder if you would dig the Tom Anderson Cobra T. They’re Tele shaped, but with Gibson scale, mahogany body/maple top, and humbuckers.
The 9 necker guitar reminds me of the 8 necked Rock-Ock, designed by legendary AC/DC and BÖC Logo designer Gerard Huerta.
Somebody needs to compose an instrumental for the nine string!
I have it on good authority that the nine-neck guitar body was made of 8 or 9 pieces, and it was sold to an Indonesian guy that buys a lot of their specialty stuff like the fancy Yuri guitars
I saw an Octopus in an old cartoon playing the 9 necka🐙
There’s a photo of Steve Harwell (ex lead singer of Smash Mouth) holding a hot wheels jag that I’ve jokingly called my holy grail guitar
And that Katana is one of the very rare Fenders to get a Seymour Duncan Invader pickup
Telecaster Bass
The original P-Bass had a more regular single coil, then Leo invented the split coil. The more regular single coil bass pick-up eventually came back in the Fender Telecaster Bass, that was closer to the original P-Bass.
Like the Mustang Bass has a split coil, that looks different to a P-Bass split coil, the Bronco Bass also has a more regular single coil.
That's actually pretty cool! Now they just need to teach Shaq to play guitar and they can make a custom shop signature model.
We need to see the 9 neck on the Trogly workbench!
it would take a week to unstring and check out all those individually......and lets see how it sounds.
I just got the new Strat Ultra, very cool guitar. I got the Texas Tea one. I have a little hookup at Fender and we go way back. He's a great guy.
Ok
Hey man I know you've already reviewed the Player Plus Strats, but I'm curious if you've seen the Olympic pearl player plus strat with the tortoiseshell pickguard in person. I've got one, and the paint job is much more striking in person than online. That Olympic pearl color is a lot more sparkly than you can tell from the photos online, but not too sparkly, where it's ridiculous. It looks like it's actually made of pearl lol. And the pickguard is a very, very dark red tortoise shell, so it looks black in certain lighting conditions. I also gotta say, the rolled fretboard edges are fantastic. I've got a maple neck, and it's very comfortable. It matches the pickguard, and off white color very well. Might replace the bridge pickup with a small humbucker though.
Strap buttons?!? made me laugh out loud!
Rick Nielsen is quaking right now
When you're allowed to take only one guitar to the gig
You missed the El Mocambo Telly that Fender Custom shop has just released; unless you already bought one and are going to feature it!
I would buy that blue Tele bass if it was for sale. Should be a production run model.
I really like the look of the stained glass Esquire. What a great looking guitar. The only thing I didn't care for was there's no front pickup. Some of the Telecasters on here were great, too. I'm not a fan of multiple neck guitar's, so I thought that was a waste of lumber and part's. Why not nine different gold guitar's in a series? The only other model's I'm not big on are the acoustisonics. For that kind of money, I would prefer a nice Taylor. I love Stratocasters and Telecasters, but most of their acoustics are not that good. Anyway, great episode, I enjoyed it.
"He took the 9 most famous pre-cbs instruments"
He took all the instrument.
3 minute string change? I’ve got locking tuners and an electric string winder and I sill can’t manage 3 min?! 🤣
Luthier Nightmare;
My frets are buzzing, the intonation seems out and a couple of the pickups and pots are not working, could you take a quick look at it?
Inspect and repair quote, $2900
Trogly makes me wanna party
The california special is just a cooler looking strat and I want one
I deeply regret not having Parker make me a 6/12 back when I had spare change...
I'd love to be the repair guy when a customer calls to say he needs a setup on his guitar, and he shows up with the gold 9-neck!
I was absolutely confused as to why the 9 neck was made xD
it’s absolutely impractical
That was unique... Just when you think you've seen it all; lol! 😊
Bass VI is 30 inch scale, like a Mustang Bass. P and Jazz are 34 inch scale. Squier Bass VI is a great guitar… er bass. Definitely invest in the La Bella Flatwounds for it though.
A lot of "wow" guitars on this episode!!!!!!!!!
2:03 Has anybody ever played this 9 necked guitar???
THis guitar has exhausted me!
Chromeo has been using chrome guitars for years!
The Multi neck fender body is Intentionally shaped like a surf board…
Guess he didn’t know that
😂😂😂😂😂
ever since the David G auction ive wanted a strat mandolin.
After spending years trying to find one, I actually bought one a few months after David Gilmour’s auction. Mine is a 1957 the same year as the one in the auction, but mine is a first generation slab body (without the Strat style body contours) that was only produced in 1956 and early 1957. Mine is blonde instead of sunburst.
Uuuu daaauuumm. I thought that the Hydra was overkill. Nine necks? I would literally have to set that thing on the floor somehow to be able to play at least on a few of the necks.
Nine neck guitar.... Mother of god...
Haha the 9neck is wild
When are you gonna document a late 70s early 80s Schecter guitar guitar. I am talking about the original customshop that Tom Anderson worked for before starting his own company later on. And dont confuse them with the newer Schecter van nuys models as they are not the same.
Im trying that violin master at cosmo music in ontario in june... how come we can import that but not Brazilian rosewood. I feel like ive asked this a thousand times to at least 100 people
The reverse head stock peacock is to make the bass look like a peacock itself
Three minutes to change strings? Are you the flash?
It doesn't matter how much time goes by, I still don't get the 'relic' look on a new guitar. Whenever I was lucky enough to get a new instrument I want it to look new. Not like someone dug up out of their granny's attic, and then dragged it behind their car on the way home. To me 'relic' looks like bad QC and shipping damage rolled into one.
Yes. It's also sto!en valor.
Would you buy a car at pik n pull?
@@216trixie That would be a hard 'no' on the pick and pull. I have a few guitars and they're all old now, but they still look damn good because I've taken care of them. My oldest is a 2000 Epiphone Les Paul that I bought brand new when I was a teenager. The only way you can tell it's age is the serial number really. It's originally creme-colored plastics and binding have aged, but given the color of the guitar you would never know it unless I told you. The only other indicator of it's age is fretwear. I played a Gibson Les Paul custom before I bought my very unique Epiphone Les P, and even if I had the money for the Gibson, I still would've bought the Epiphone. The main difference between them was the Gibson's obscene price tag. The Epiphone has a factory crackle paint job, along with other cool factory mods, very hot and versatile pickups, a clear pickguard, custom inlay and it's built like a tank. To this day it stays in tune and it's never needed any adjustments. The factory setup was perfect. I consider myself lucky to have such an instrument.
@@samoz6865 Yes. I love my Epiphones. And I've been playing for decades, gigging regularly for many years. I take care of all of my instruments. Even the most heavily played ones that I've been using for 20 to 25 years, look in great condition. Maybe a chip or a ding here and there were a couple of accidents. But that's all. Nothing like any of the relicing that the people are paying money for.
"More stronger "? Lol
Wow, three minutes per neck for strings? I’m pretty fast and it’s almost (almost) 3 minutes per string! ✌️😎🎸🎶🎵🎶
Has nobody called this the Teleglasster yet ?
Get that Stradivari. Someone will buy it. It is legitimate art and such an incredible display of craftmanship. Everything is hand carved and the wood is sourced from the same forest Stradivari got his wood. Incredibly rare and unique
Devastatingly fascinating.
Imagine having to buff that 9 neck guitar
Yeah get Steve Vai on the phone Trogly!! Lol
#14 Wooo WHooo
Good evening HK
But they LITERALLY made this 3 years ago…..I remember it as a HUUUGE Namm special pre-Covid of course
Heavy iron stand with a turntable from an excavator! I wouldn't want to turn the thing towards cameras.
No 12 string on the 9 neck guitar? How could they forgot that?
