The engine of the Spruce Goose is an overdrive circuit renowned for its natural breakup and amp-like response. This circuit is then elevated to new heights by the LIFT switch which selects between 3 levels of input gain. LIFT effectively works as an input boost, goosing the front end of the drive circuit hitting harder and producing a more compressed, saturated tone while still retaining its dynamic feel and transparent tone. GAIN and VOL knobs adjust for exact drive and output levels. EQ of the pedal consists of a TREBLE knob for taming topping and an active BASS knob to cut or boost bass frequencies. BASS is especially helpful for adding girth to single coil guitars or tightening the low end on warmer humbucker guitars.
The Spruce Goose also features mechanical relay true bypass switching with latching and momentary action. Tap the footswitch for a normal latching toggle or press and hold the footswitch for a momentary blast of gain and boost! Great for stepping out in front of the mix for pulling quick lick or moment of sonic chaos.

This pedal sounds great.Electro Harmonix very rarely miss their mark and this is about the only overdrive I’ve heard in years that gets me excited. It sounds beautifully fat and smooth especially on lead single note playing, very nice. 3:42 😊

I’ve got a DLSMk2, EHX Crayon, running into a EHX canyon as my go to rig. As well as a damage control ‘Womanizer’. But after hearing the Mrs. Spruce Im determined to work my A$$ off to get one these “Gooses” for my session work. The reason? Japan has trains everywhere. Carrying an amp on the trains and buses to my live gig or studio session literally means possibly ruining a 3k$ investment. This ‘goose’ can probably go clean DI’d into a recording rig and basically come close to that 3k$ amp only for a fraction of a real bluesy sounding amp like this pedal. Thanks again EHX. You guys are bringing the top tier sound for a fraction of the cost for us struggling musicians.

Glove is fantastic but a completely different beast. The Glove is a Fulltone OCD clone, this OD is a Bluesbreaker clone.
Pairs excellently with the Glove! Almost made the video but Tom really dug the ERD and Octavix examples he had worked out. We could honestly make another full video of all of the wonderful sounds this thing gets stacked with all of our other OD pedals. Glove? YEA! Hot Tubes? YEA! That's part of the beauty of this kind of circuit, it's ability to stack is great.

Great player, I like how he threw in the Steve Stevens top gun theme because pedal has a plane on it. But, it sounds more like a fuzz/fizzy type pedal, & not really a bluesy tone.
I've actually been on the Spruce Goose when it was parked in LA many years ago, next to the Queen Mary.

It's been a few years ago that I've fought my GAS addiction and playing guitars all the tone making awesome creative tones and ignoring silly human relationships. Lately, there have been some very cool pedals to get back in the home studio. The Spruce Goose would be on the pedalboard, no doubt. RAT players should buy this pedal ASAP unless you are in GAS AA like me.

1993 after seeing an American band on tour in Brisbane 1991, I bought a EHX "Sovtek" Big Muff Pi. Blue and Silver. I have never seen another except for the Green Sovtek one. Built like a tank except for the jacks that were only attached to the circuit board. Everytime the guitar lead reached the Muff it broke. 😢 But the best Muff ever. Was it different?

I like it .!. Sounds great in all modes 👍☺️👍 The only complaint I have about any of these pedals with mini toggles is you have to crawl around on the stage floor in the dark to switch in the middle of a song. kinda inconvenient. I'd prefer a second push button. Nice pedal though, I will be adding one to my collection 👏👏
Understand but it's a very dynamic pedal and the LIFT switch is input gain. So you can set you maxed gain level and roll off your volume to achieve the lower LIFT levels. OR boost the front end with a clean boost. It works GREAT stacked with other boosts and drives.
Since my back problem makes leaning down with a guitar around my neck I decided to buy a 12 channel loop switcher for about $350. The cables alone cost around $400! Smartest move ever. Now I can effects stomp on and off as per usual (sometimes two at once as I've got mine set up) but all of the pedals are now propped about 4' off the ground so that I can access the controls with ease. Very reminiscent of David Gilmour's setup but without all of the rack mount devices underneath.

I like the sound of the high lift setting and I like the sound of it as a clean boost, trouble is I'd want to toggle between the two which essentially you can't do.

Can't wait to give this one a try. I was let down by the Lizard Queen BUT just blown away by the Satisfaction Plus. Absolutely amazing pedal. I'm hoping they knocked it out of the park agsin with this one.👍
