Hands down the absolute best/detailed arrow-building video series I have seen on UA-cam!

Its great that you show so many options on each step of the process! from Hobbiest stage up to full arrowsmith tooling and jigs!

I love that you kept the blade down until the brake stopped it. That’s a good thing to point out for someone using a miter saw. I’ve sent projectiles flying all over because I was in a hurry and brought the blade back up.

    Excellent video but one thing.
I don’t understand why you tapered a shaft and stuck it back into a bundle of shafts only to cut it off like that..
now none of them are 30 7/8 nor 30 inches. Please explain?

Would a regular arrow saw that I use for carbon arrows be okay to cut wood arrows with? Weston arrow saw for example?

It will cut the shaft, but will create heat and smoke a lot. I would recommend a blade made for cutting wood. You can also use a fine-tooth hand saw.

Is bare shaft/paper tuning practical with wood shafts or does the variance between individual shafts make it more trouble than it's worth? I've just ordered shafts and accessories to make my own after watching your series, well done.

How do you determine how long your arrow should be cut in regards to actual draw length to front of bow?
I know it can be a range, any suggestions?

Justin Robertson it’s personal preference. Minimum suggested length for broad head tipped arrows is one inch past for safety.

Another great video, love how the kids watched with interest when you where cutting the arrow with the box cutter or as we in the U.K. Call it a Stanley knife ( Stanley make the blades and holder ) thanks for sharing 👍👍👍. Have a Happy Christmas and all the best for the New Year to you and your family 🏹
