Yeah, Lars was a beast back then no doubt. A lot of people always say he plays like shit now. I would not say that. Look at the fact that Lars Ulrich is one of the founding members of one of the biggest metal bands in the world. We all get older. There will come a time when we won’t be as good as we once were in our youth. There are still times when Lars shows he’s still got it after all these years. After all, he’s been playing metal since the early 80’s. Cut Lars some slack people.
He's incredible at it...singing while playing at all is challenging, but those chunky, staccato riffs he does while singing a completely different tune is spectacular. The only guy that comes close is Deron Miller from cKy, who basically idolized Hetfield.
