From 6 minutes in to 10 minutes you have the part that I needed to see covered up with a tool box (or something). For someone who is just replacing their handle your video is probably fine. And that is the title of your video. But, I wanted to first determine whether mine needed replacing, or if it could just be repaired. My apologies for being short in my comment but I'm not even sure why you were replacing the one in the video. I don't see what was even broken. Anyway, I'm sure your video helps people who have already bought a replacement and just want to see the replacement sequence.
@@scottymac734 I had just recently bought the truck, the handle was broken, i would pull up on the handle to open the tailgate and it would just go up and down. It felt like it was loose and wasn't attached to anything. There is a little lever on the back side of the handle and it was broken, the mechanism on the each side of the tailgate were never oiled or sprayed with WD40 so it got corrosion or rust, don't remember but anyways when I pulled on the two rods to open the tailgate, the rods were hard to pull in together to open the tailgate, so my Tought is that the lever on the back of the handle broke from being pulled hard over and over as the rods got harder to pull in because it was never oiled and put to much tension on the lever on the back of the handle which caused the lever to break. That little lever that broke pushes down on a another lever that is attached to the mechanism which when pushed down, it pulls both rods in releasing the tailgate. The lever was unfixable so I bought a new one. That reminds me, I'm gonna go spray them with wd40, I haven't oiled them since I put them on and I go to beach alot.
Torx size is T-30, I went back and watched the video and just like you commented, no torx size was mentioned, thanks for the heads up, I have now put the torx size in the description for others to see.
I came here to see how the top of the handle connects to the metal and you have it covered up. Wasted my time.
