Why NOBODY Can Stop Joel Embiid

- Today we're going to be talking about the historic season that Joel Embiid is currently having in 2023-24. After winning the NBA MVP in 2023, Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers suffered a 2nd round loss to the Boston Celtics, leaving fans to believe that his success would never translate to playoff success. This season, Embiid has been having an even better season, averaging more points than minutes, a feat that hasn't been accomplished since Wilt Chamberlain in 1961-62. And after the Sixers agreed to trade James Harden to the LA Clippers, they have taken their team and offense to another level, behind Embiid, and they are looking like one of the favorites to come out of the Eastern Conference in the 2024 playoffs. I’m trying my hardest to remember why I said he’s 6’11 and I have no answer, now its all I’ve been thinking about 😂
Lol...appreciate your honesty. Great video.
Take your time, 🌞:^)
Yeah he’s actually 7’2”
7"2
are we really gonna get 2x Giannis, 2x Joker, 2x Embiid mvps? three back-to-back mvps in a row? insane
A lot of people aren't able to separate the concepts of "League High Scorer" and "Most Valuable Player". They believe the League High Scorer to BE the MVP, by virtue of being high scorer. I (and the NBA) see the awards as separate, and rewarding different goals. I don't see Embiid as MVP, no matter how many points he can score. There's an award for that.
@@wyotriumphrideryet his value doesn’t ONLY come from his scoring. Stat watcher 😂😂😂
@wyotriumphrider don't that matter point, standings and defense? Have a great narrative which his team does. Practically unguardable when healthy
@@edgemaster7610 Yet, his other attributes still do not add up to MVP. League High Scorer is the correct award for Embiid, IF he plays in enough games. lol...No one watches stats more than Joel. NO ONE.
Big man era is back and wemby and Chet will continue it 👌
Until the playoffs of course.........
Or if they have to play Denver is Denver. The high altitude seems to really irritate that knee!
@@willzsportscardsYup, 4 straight seasons is no longer a coincidence.
Damn is it really four in a row? Pathetic.
@@willzsportscards Yup.....I'm a sixers fan but not stupid like the others who chant "mvp"! every year for him when he's at the free throw line like idiots.
Damn Embiid is playing on Rookie Mode rn
Nick Nurse has managed to unlocked an even scarier Embiid, meanwhile the Bucks are signing Glenn lmao.
Nobody is afraid of Embiid. Every year the same story.
Why no one can stop Embiid
Playoff 2nd round: hold my horses
It's not any "body" that's a problem, it's his mind.
Bro theres NO Fing WAY you just said Embiid is 6'11... HAHA hes easily 7'1 maybe 7'2 if you saw him next to Wemby at 7'5
He’s most definitely 7’2 look at him next to Kristaps
He's 7'0 and porzingis is 7'2
@@oreoakalaperoji8314 embiid is 7'1/7'2 bruh dont be a dumb dumb
Imagine being 6'11' 250#, that's huge, you're on Embiid in the paint, you've established position, and he crouches slightly to gather for a jump, incidentally hitting you with his butt, and you go stumbling backward and land in the baseline cameraman's lap while Embiid dunks it uncontested. Been watching him do this to "too small" big guys like Zach Collins. Joel just kinda shunts them off if they make contact. If they play off him at arm's length, he hits a jumper in their face. It's impressive.
That's pretty impressive for a center nowadays
Embiid is such a skilled scorer. What a shame he resorts to such cheap flopping and flailing tactics at times.
The difference in minutes between Embiid and Wilt is important. Keeping the same scoring rate while playing 10 more minutes would be nearly impossible. Fatigue is a big factor when you're playing 48 minutes a game, and it means you don't get to sit.
Why NOBODY Can Stop Joel Embiid.
The Knicks "alright bet"
He was hurt and still put up 30 a game. If he had any help from Tobias they would have won. The point margin was 10
Embiid is not 6’11 😂😅😅😅
if you really think Joel is going to fall apart during the playoffs this year, you arent paying attention. He's different this year and maybe more importantly, the team and coach are different this year.
2nd round exit
hater doesnt watch ball@@visno
@@Gridironwarplans just another delusional philly fan. y’all are just the dallas cowboys of the nba.
As long as he stays healthy he will be great in the playoffs this year
I heard that last year. I really wish him the best.... but we will see in just a couple months
The only person that has stopped Joel is himself.
Jokic is 6'11". Embiid is 7'1.5". Get it right.
Wilt averaged 26 rebounds a game? Wtf 😂😂😂
Actually nobody except the playoffs
somehow denver can stop for 5 years
Yawn, foul merchants stats always goes down in the play-offs.
Bro called embid 6’11.
Only playoffs can stop this guy 😂
In the Regular Season☠️🤣🤦🏻♂️
Lmao the mere fact he gets more freethrows than LeBron is insane.
Not necessarily if you consider style of play and the kinds of players that are actually guarding them. Joel typically (and purposefully) takes other bigs out to the perimeter or the mid range where he knows they don’t want to go out and guard guys one on one, on the other hand he takes players smaller than him down to the block and plays a slower more powerful type of offense. He takes advantage of the big guys being slower and reaching more further from the rim and the smaller guys typically have to foul to avoid giving him easy buckets around the rim
This did not age well🦆🦆🦆
Bro Embiid is 7'1 not 6'11
6'11????
Until the second round 😂
Not a funny joke considering doc is now coaching the sixers
What year is it
That’s going to be a cloud over him for the rest of his career
Nah they're probably gonna face the doc rivers bucks in the second round
Sorry, first round by the Knicks.
Why do some of these so called NBA youtuber and reddit analysts downgrade player's heights? So if you say Embiid is 6'11 then you must say that Shaq who is 1 inch shorter is just 6'10? HAHAH. And that Jokic (who is about 2 inches shorter) is actually just 6'9 and that Durant and Giannis (both are 1 inch shorter than Jokic) are just both 6'8!!! HAHAH! And then you'd have to also say that Lebron (being at least 2 inches shorter than KD) is just 6'6 ?!?!?! That would make MJ and Kobe (who are 3 inches shorter than Lebron) at a measly 6'3? HAHAH. What does that make Steph Curry then, who is 4 inches shorter than MJ and Kobe? Steph Curry is just 5'11? Hahah. And then you'd have to say that Allen Iverson (who is 2 inches shorter than Steph Curry) is just a lowly 5'9? HAHAHAHA. You so called experts are nothing but insecure wanting to believe your height is closer to them as you want to believe.
Dude. Relax.
5'9"? Cool, I could've been Allen Iverson if I'd applied myself!
Until the playoffs
Warriors stopped him🤭
Embiid is 7’1. Not 6’11 sir. Put some respect on his athleticism as a big’s big.
No, The Sixers were one of the FEW honest Teams a few years ago when the NBA wanted the Real Shoeless Heights of Players and Embiid is like 6'11" and 3/4 without shoes. For example the Sun's were lying B* because they still claimed Rishaun Holmes was 6'10" despite being way shorter than Embiid and not even as tall as Ben Simmons who is a legit 6'10" iirc But don't hold me to that as Embiid's height is the only I remember with 100% certainty.
@@UA-camCensorsembiid is 7’2
MVD! MVD! Most valuable ducker! Out again against Denver. NBA has a problem. This is a prime time game on a weekend and your MVP is pulling stuff like this? Silver has no control over this clowns. 'professional' lmfaooooooo
I feel like POP is a blatantly bad coach rn with all due respect.. like “we can’t do anything honestly” then he goes out and gets 70 .. it really should be embarrassing
Not really. It’s not like the game was a blowout and Wemby had 33 🤷🏽♂️the team is just very young and (besides Wemby) not very talented like some other young g teams (OKC, New York, Brooklyn)
first
Lol impossible…….all you gotta do is face him in the playoffs.
