    Its all in the head. I've smoked for 15 year's and stoped smoking 8 months ago. 1st month of quitting my brain was struggling after that no problem. Its not easy to quit you just have to want it. Find a person in your life that's worth quitting for. it gives you strength and a motive.

      Honestly I quit alcohol, when I saw a close relative getting pancreatic cancer. Luckily, everythings fine now and it wasnt the deadly one, but I feel like that alcohol abuse may have cause it. Fear is really the best way to stop you from doing certain things. They should actively show smokers videos of conditions that are caused by smoking. The little pictures on every package help sometimes, but when you show a smoker a video of something horrible Im certain he will rethink. Is inducing fear of something aleady a methode used by psychologists?

    • @FormerHumanX

      Not just their time consulting with the patient but the screening and other tests involved in a proper exam. The insurance company won't cover it because they classify it as preventative. Either the patient has to pay out of pocket or the doctor/hospital has to do it for free. Either way it's a stupid system.

    I'm not sure any doctor anywhere, or any one else, has ever talked a patient into quitting smoking. It has to come from the smoker him/her self.

    I am at a loss here. I recall as a kid in the 1950's and '60's hearing people say they were told by their doctor to stop smoking. Did something happen in the meantime that I missed. Maybe it was health insurance. Back then, health insurance was not a major issue. Doctors took the time to care about the health of their patients. Today if a doctor is not reimbursed for something s/he is not going to do whatever that "something" is. OH! Maybe that is what happened in the meantime. Doctors and medical specialists of all kinds are wallowing in greed and hubris. And that (assessment) summarizes this video. Doctors are bitching they want money for caring about their patients.

      I never found it that difficult - however, since I ‘quit’ I’ve smoked the odd cigarette from time to time for nostalgia (hopefully now, tho, never again) and the habitual imprint in my brain will never go away. A friend of my grandma hasn’t smoked for 40+ years but still thinks about it.
      You’ll only really quit if your genuinely want to, or your body (like in my case) just says stop.
      It’s totally psychological. You only ‘think’ you enjoy it. But it literally does nothing for you. Good luck.

    I’m 25, been smoking since the week I turned 18, usually a pack every day or every other day. I come from a family with a long history of heart disease. My father survived 3 heart attacks. I finally stopped smoking 3 months ago, after getting back on antidepressants, but now I feel that urge for them again. I don’t even enjoy it now, it’s the sense of feeling like I’m getting out of bed to do something which I look for. Addiction and depression are a deadly combination.

I don’t use any illegal drugs now that I see how much I have to lose. It's true smoking is a major health hazard. It's also true is that doctors get major funding from pharmacutical companies for prescribing their medicines. This is fact. With smokers, they'll get chest infections more times in a year than a non-smoker would over a 5 year period. We don't need to be mathematicians to work out how much a doctor would get paid each time he prescribed an anti-biotic from any particular pharmacutical. This is fact. I know people working in a pharmactucial company.

    I am a smoker and many times over the years I have thought to myself that I wish I had never started smoking. Many doctors did counsel and encourage me to stop. I have cut back on the number of cigarettes I smoke per day and I am pleased with myself for doing so. The problem for me is that I still enjoy smoking tobacco and despite the fact that it is not good for me, I will probably continue to do so, if or, until I absolutely reach the point, for whatever reason, that I no longer enjoy it. I think that it is easy to quit smoking once you have reached the point where you say to yourself, " I don't enjoy anything about smoking cigarettes anymore and I am going to quit for good." 99.9 % of ex- smokers that I have talked with have told me that's how they were finally able to stop smoking.

If you're going to take time with preventative care, teach people about diet modifications, probiotics, things they have less of a chance to be fully aware of. Now random people I meet think I'm a meth-head because of my teeth, but I've NEVER done meth, EVER!

      same can be said for any addiction. But we have known for over half a century how dangerous smoking is, but people get addicted, and addiction overpowers the logic part of the brain, because that's part of being addicted to something. I'm talking about the type of restrictions imposed on things like murder and rape. The same kind of restrictions should be placed on smoking because it is very much like murder and rape. Smokers are forcing others to inhale second hand smoke against their will which affects their health negatively. But this won't happen to smoking.

    There's a plant called Artemesia Vulgaris, aka Mugwort, which you can buy cheap on the internet. It was used to brew beer before the discovery of hops, it was also called "sailor's tobacco" and used for thousands of years. It's non-addictive, mellow-tasting, and gives you very vivid and cool dreams.
    It's far safer than tobacco, and makes a good alternative. It's only unsafe to pregnant women, because it's an "abortificant" and causes miscarriage. Other than that it's totally safe.

    @caniolle I believe smoking represents a social dilemma more than an individual problem. Smoking will always be a problem because it is socially acceptable. Sure I can give advice to my patients and spend an hour talking to them, then what? I let them go back to an environment where they are constantly bombarded by smoking advertisements, smoking peers, and second hand smoke. A social redesign is needed, the doctors are just treating the symptoms, not the illness.

    @FieldMarshalRommel23 well why is the USA "where their Doctor is"..if they live 3000 miles away? My point was that other countries bash the united states for no national health care but when they get really sick they come to the USA for treatment. Thats because we have the best health care facilities in the world. And as far as "nicer to die in an exotic country".......most people would rather die in their own bed

    11 years nicotine free and am not going back to that dark place with the hackin and coughing and getting colds all the time . It makes people weak and sweaty and costs alot of money . It ruins your taste and smell and gives men "wet noodles !" I am now smoking a gram of pot per week instead to stave off nicotine cravings and it is working . I am not going back to that dark nicotine place ever and I also gave alcohol the old heave ho out of my life about 30 years ago but I will do shrooms once in a while if I could only get my hands on those slimy little treats .

    It seems the doctors are only willing to talk to their patients about quitting smoking if they get paid for it. They're squaking about the problem but won't say anything unless they get paid. Unless they're willing to talk to their patients about quitting smoking for a few mins. without getting reimbursed, they just need to shut up! Because their part of the problem by not doing anything. Money rules

The doctors are shit, they don't wanna help you unless they're making money, in the EU they think of your health. That's hardly a good doctor if you ask me!

    @FieldMarshalRommel23 first of all a number of things in michal moores film "sicko" have been shown to be not true. Health care in the EU is not "better"......it is just that it is "free" (and not really free because they tax you to death to pay for it).....yeah, its better in the respect that it's free but not better in the respect from quality of care.

    • @goldenhospitality8521
      @goldenhospitality8521 5 років тому +1

      And how is that gonna help? If people wanna smoke they will, the fact that the majority of people started smoking Underage, when they aren't even legally allowed to buy cigs or related products just proves this. What making it illegal would do is heavily increase the black market for tobacco and killing any chance of regulation. The tobacco sold illegally will probably be even more dangerous and of worse quality and there will be no age control. Teens will have an even easier time buying cigarettes, because news flash, dealers don't ask for ID.
      If alcohol prohibition failed horribly a couple hundred years ago how do you think will a tobacco prohibition help anyone?

    • @panscentralexpresspresents4733
      @panscentralexpresspresents4733 5 років тому

      let me rephrase that.. make it illegal to sell tobacco commercially. make it illegal to profit off addictive substances.
      not Illegal to do illegal to sell illegal to buy. if you wanna grow it do it. but I doubt very many people would.
      my concern is the people offering it to the public not those using. sure people will still do it. but the issue is its every where. you can buy it at your local market... if you could by heroin at your local market with out a script you can damn well bet I'd buy and probably use it with reckless abandon. much like I did tobacoo. I rolled my own and smoke terrible amounts. I finally quit two weeks ago. hope that I can resist the urge infinitely. but it'd be easier if it wasn't at most stores. ps it's killing the people who use it.

    • @goldenhospitality8521
      @goldenhospitality8521 5 років тому

      @@panscentralexpresspresents4733 seems a lot more reasonable but im afraid that there will be a lot of people who will want to smoke but aren't willing to home grow, once again creating a black market.
      Im aware that store cigarettes are altered with shit ton of chemicals but people homegrowers can also be greedy and/or unprofessional and lace their tobacco and/or use dangerous pesticides. Of course this doesn't apply to people growing for themselves but as you said yourself those will probably be the minority. What I can agree on is that we should ban the dangerous and addictive additives and maybe change how tobacco is sold, so it isn't sold in every store like candy. Im afraid however that the tobacco lobby will prevent that from ever happening.
