How Smoking 30 PACKS of Cigarettes Wrecks Your Lungs ● You Must See This !

- This shows smoking a pack of Tobacco cigarettes a day for 30 days! That's 600 Tobacco cigarettes! The average American smoker smokes a pack a day. This is what could be going in your lungs.

● same experiment SMOKING vs VAPING for a Month .... • How Smoking vs Vaping ...
EXPLANATION of the test
This was not a scientific test.
The average American smoker smokes one pack a day = 30 packs a month (Google)
30 packs x 20 per pack = 600 cigarettes.
The simplicity of the white cotton balls visually shows what is possibly going in your lungs and what your body has to deal with.
Many commenter said this was in-accurate and I should have used real lungs. Real lungs are not live tissue. They are dead and would not have made it accurate. Cotton balls are cheap, easily attainable and pure white to visually see what they capture.
The smoke was not held. Exhale hose clearly shown at 0:15
The chamber was cleared of smoke between each and every cigarette allowing air to enter.
The smoke was drawn through and around the cotton, catching some and not all of the junk and tar. This is evident by the accumulation in the hoses.
the machine did not blow the smoke back through the cotton. If all of the smoke had been blown back through, like real smoking, the results would have been even worse.
The machine smoked each cigarette at the same pace.
Each cigarette was smoked 3/4 of the way to reflect real world smoking allowing a quarter of it to just burn away while talking or thinking.
It took 3 days for me to video the machine smoking all of the cigarettes.
Scenes were sped up and time lapsed to be able to see the visual change in colour occur.
The black stuff is called tar. Accumulation of tar in the hoses showed up after only 10 packs. Tar from the next 20 packs got sucked into the pump. It eventually ruined the pump.
Lungs do self clean to take care of dust and debris from normal breathing in the environment. They weren't meant to be overwhelmed on an hourly basis by smoke from a burning object for life.
The smell inside the dome at the end was vile. After shooting 3 days of video I felt quite ill afterwards. Can't imagine how a smoker feels on a daily basis.
I think everyone agrees we must do our part to give kids a good healthy start in life and do our best to prevent youngsters from taking up these very poor habits. If you smoke tobacco, cannabis or you vape, never let children or kids see you doing it. If kids see an adult doing it, they think it's ok. They look up to you! If you must smoke, make sure you are out of sight at home, that you're not near a school or around arenas or in a parks. Do your part to help everyone raise wise healthy kids! Like they say "it takes a village".
just remember this one simple rule and you can't go wrong....".your lungs were only meant for one thing and that's air"

CORRECT CORRECT CORRECT.
Fun Fact:
Lungs are self healing. So when a smoker decides to quit smoking for good, their lungs will start to heal. When a person breathes in the smoke and gets away from it, their lungs start to heal when the smoke is gone.
Lungs may heal to some extent. However, once someone gets emphysema or COPD the damage is permanent. That's why you see a lot of older people dragging oxygen tanks around.
@@twmccoy100 You are correct. Just want to clarify though that emphysema is a type of COPD. The other is chronic bronchitis. But your point still stands.
Source: I’m a PA student
@@twmccoy100 My mom's COPD (~chronic bronchitis) reversed and her Emphysema vanished, and she still smokes. Got an xray showing it just disappeared. Spent the last couple of years trying to figure out how this happened as I also started to get COPD symptoms myself and I've been away from anyone who smokes for more than 10 years. take a look at the gut-lung axis and how gut dysbiosis seems to impact COPD. If you restore the gut by eating better, it can regenerate the respiratory epithelium by acting on apoptosis and inflammation and potentially even regenerate the fibrosis entirely. My lungs healed after an FMT. I can cite tons of studies on this.
Yes......and no. We just lost a friend to lung cancer. He quit, but only after years of smoking. it was too late. Another friend quit smoking over twenty years ago but now has COPD. A third friend, a close friend of my wife's, quit ten years ago but just recently died of lung cancer. Her doctors told her the cancer probably got its start at about the time she quit. But I'll agree that quitting NOW is the best hope for a healthy (or fairly healthy) future.
@@paulmaxwell8851 There's a strange phenomena that occurs among people with Sjogren's Syndrome where quitting smoking actually makes symptoms worse. This seems to be due to sudden changes in how mucus membranes respond after cessation. (ref DOI: 10.1136/rmdopen-2020-001402 ). In rat studies of mucus membranes, TRPV4 is an important receptor for stimulating mucus release. My family has primary Sjogren's Syndrome and makes quitting smoking very troublesome because it actually makes symptoms worse. Trying to find out why has been a passion of mine for a number of years.
From what I can tell, long term smoking is acting to reduce the sensitivity and expression of TRPV4 receptors in lung tissue (and mucus membranes thru the entire body), but this is compensated for by the smoking itself acting as an irritant. Upon cessation, these receptors are still under expressed, but now you are not getting the immune system activity nearly as much in that space to handle the smoke damage. This may be leading to increased cancer rates because now you have a situation where there are fewer immune cells patrolling for damaged tissue, and the apoptosis of the cancer cells itself is also downregulated.
We are currently exploring this phenomena and it's believed that targeting these TRPV4 receptors may be a potential pharmaceutical target for aiding in lung cancer treatment (ref DOI: 10.1590/1414-431X2021e10867 ).
This may also explain consistent findings where Wasabi/Mustard and Garlic are seemingly reducing the rates of cancer in people who consume it regularly. Aside from other nutrients in these foods, the main active ingredients help regulate and maintain a number of TRP receptors, in including TRPV4.
If we can figure out how to deal with this phenomena, we may also be able to leverage it to treat Crohn's disease and other stomach disorders that are similarly plagued by strange TRPV4 expression. I'm hopeful we'll discover more about this in the next couple of years and be able find ways to treat it and compensate for this this weird cessation phenomena.

That doesn't work for everyone. Everyone is different. The heart and lung association doesn't always recommend same tactics. It has been proven that there are cases when it did more harm than good to quit out right. Some people have to slow their way down. There has been a few people who quit cold turkey and it caused them to have a stroke or heart attack because their body was so used to the habit that when they quit, their body went into attack mode.
I smoked for 13 years and quit when I was 31. I did it with chewing gum and keeping my hands busy. For me not smoking all day was fine until my first cigarette, after my first I had to keep smoking. So it was pretty smooth for me. I woke up and said I don't need one, and just kept busy. At work I chewed gum.. at home I started cooking every day. And I enjoyed cooking. Honestly, quitting coffee was harder then cigarettes. And every now and then I still enjoy a cup of good coffee, but I don't miss the cigarettes at all.

Here's a story for you: Last year, at age 51, I had a stroke. Half my body was paralyzed. (I'm recovered now and doing great.) A lot of factors, but smoking was obviously the biggest. I had smoked since I was a 16 year old rocker kid back in the 80s. You really shouldn't be having strokes when you're only 51, unless you have some kind of congenital condition or other factor. I don't. Basically smoked too much. Ended up between a pack and a half to two packs a day. If you want to risk dying early, keep smoking. Otherwise, quit, and quit all the way. No half-measures, no patches, no vaping, no "mitigating smoking cessations" blah blah. Quit right now. You think you can't quit? I quit instantly, and if I quit, you can too. Just pretend you're putting a gun to your head. Because that's what you're actually doing, anyway. Good luck, and try to stick around for those that love you.

Why do people even get addicted to smoking in the first place. It's not like crack

What's ever more amazing is that the body is capable of healing and cleaning 99% of this up after an extended period of time if you quit...
Correct.
Really? That’s really impressive for the body to do
Able to patch almost all sorts of injuries, external or internal like this one, has a complicated set of reactions just to produce energy for daily life, a big ol facility to extract nutrients from chewed food, an active double circulatory system rhat guarantees no backflow or mixing of blood, and on top of all of this, an instant-response security team that patrols the body for every waking moment (and sleeping moment!) to fight off intruders; the body is more amazing than it looks at the surface.

I smoked for about 10 years, I felt the "hand writing on the wall" about how unhealthy it was, and quit, going on 35 years now. One thing that is for sure. There is absolutely NOTHING positive that can come from smoking or about smoking. But people keep doing it because they are hooked on the drug, nicotine. It's a real shame people are willing to die over it, and it doesn't even get you high.
I smoked for about 4 years and quit about 26 year ago. I smoked very strong cigarettes without filter. I guess this brought me to the edge much more quickly and i realized how bad it is more quickly. Basically i was done after 4 year of strong filterless tabacco. I can support your statement.

Our body has its own cleaning mechanism and healing mechanism. So, 600 cigarettes will not have the same affect in our body.
BUT, that's not to say that it won't have any affect at all to our body, because it does. The body will eventually get tired of cleaning this shit and eventually give up, depending on the immunity of the smoker, which is also affected by his genes and other aspects of is lifestyle. And sooner or later the smoker will die.
