ABOUT TODAYS VIDEO: Antioxidant Foods For Dogs Health
Antioxidants slow the aging process and boost immunity to disease by deactivating free radicals. And free radicals get into your dog every time they are given vaccines and medications or from exposure to pesticides, pollution and processed dog food like kibbles.
Free radicals cause oxidative stress and damage cells, protein and the DNA. The antioxidants will mop up the free radicals, keeping your dogs body healthier. However, problems begin when 'out of control' numbers of free radicals flood the body and it can no longer cope.
Free radicals can quickly overwhelm the body's immune system, leading to chronic health complaints such as arthritis, kidney, heart and liver disease, mental decline and cancer.
The introduction of free radicals can come from toxins in antibiotics, pesticides, kibble, home cleaning products or lawn care products and pharmaceutical medications.
Over time, free radicals introduced by these toxins will build up and the body will not be able to stop the damage. So it's important to avoid these toxins to save your dog’s long term health and vitality.
Reducing your dogs contact with pesticides, vaccines and other toxins is vital to their health. And introducing antioxidants into your dogs diet, helps fight the oxidative damage.
A balanced healthy diet contains lots of antioxidants to help avoid free radical accumulation.
Let's look at some powerful antioxidants that benefit your dogs immunity as well as supporting joint health and the digestive system.
Vitamin C captures free radicals, then deactivates them. Dogs normally manufacture vitamin C naturally.
Vitamin E breaks up free radical accumulation by integrating into cell membranes. Plant derived oils such as hemp seed oil contain large amounts of Vitamin E. and I'll leave a link to this in the description below and at the link above.
Polyphenols are another class of antioxidants found mostly in dark berries and other fruits such as papaya.
Flavonoids are particularly powerful antioxidants, found in many vegetables, fruits and herbs, including large amounts in berries. Green tea is also very high in flavonoids. My absolute favourite freeze dried greens food supplement is packed with antioxidants, probiotics, vitamins, minerals, flavonoids, polyphenols, beta glucans and much more.
This one health supplements covers all your dogs antioxidant food needs and I'll leave a link to it in the description below and at the link above.
Just add a 1/4 scoop to meals for small dogs daily, 1/3rd scoop for medium dogs daily and a 1/2 scoop for large dogs daily.

Hi Dan, Hope all is well. I was wondering if you would give me your thoughts on the disease known as
LUPOID Onychodystrophy? From what I have read, no known cause, probably genetics. Do you think any of the flea, tick, heartworm medicines can trigger it,or any vaccines? Thanks for your input.

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  8 місяців тому +1

It's immune mediated so I'd stop any and all shots,m vet drugs, commercial pet foods, synthetics of any kind and yes, any of them can cause this.
Then I'd start on a fresh food diet concisting of ready made raw meals if the dog is small as it's still economical. Bigger dog, maybe make home prepared meals of meats, eggs, canned sardines, veggies and just 10% carbs. And to this add supplemnents like omega 3's Hemp oil: amzn.to/3vDdtjX which also contains Vit E naturally occuring.
      Also soil based probiotics: amzn.to/3yoURqU
And the antioxidants from this video will help a lot: amzn.to/3cOgzLu
For more on complete diets theres my ebook: healthydogforlife.com/feed-your-dog-better-book-by-dan-scott/
This way, you can break the cycle and hopefully end this condition.

It is an ok anti flea/tick option. My favorite is neem oil as it just works 100%: Neem oil: amzn.to/3iV0Igq
I mix this neat neem oil with olive oil at 1 part neem oil to 5 parts olive oil, mix and dab on the parts of the dog flea/ticks get to. One dab will last all week.

Hi good to hear from you again.
How To Find A Holistic Vet
You can find a holistic vet at these sites. Many will do phone consults if you can’t find one locally.
The Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy theavh.org/ (AVH) : lists homeopathic vets but many practice other holistic modalities too.
Pitcairn Institute of Veterinary Homeopathy pivh.org/sfd/ (PIVH): vets who’ve completed homeopathy training with Dr Richard Pitcairn. Like the AVH list, includes vets who practice other holistic methods.
American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association www.ahvma.org/ (AHVMA): includes all types of holistic veterinarians.

Great videos! I just discovered your videos while searching for someone who can help my dog with Lyme. I don’t see a video on that here. My dog is almost 3. She’s been diagnosed almost 2 months ago. She’s very miserable still. The Doxycycline and Carprofen didn’t help, so I took her off. She’s on CBD, colloidal silver, probiotics, and a fresh Whole Foods diet. I’m making the turmeric paste now. Any other suggestions? I think it would be helpful if you made a video on Lyme in dogs. 🐶☺️

Great idea, I will do that.
      Re Lyme:
I use the Ledum palustre for lyme.Treat with Ledum 1m for 3x a day for 3 days....but I did it for 4 days and again did it 2 weeks later: amzn.to/3gMFQYe
Then re-test for Lyme, should be negative.
re silver: it's only for 7 or 14 days to treat an infection as an antibiotic.
What your doing is good re diet and supplements. Do please let me know how the Ledum works out, it's homeopathy.

The easy fix if you need this product is to change the diet. It's too late for cholesterin. Your dog needs fresh food only, no kibbles or any other dry food.
      Protecting The Kidneys:
It’s crucial to protect and support healthy kidneys to avoid kidney disease in dogs.
Feed a fresh, whole food diet. A balanced raw diet will give your dog the protein, vitamins and nutrients he needs to function well. Adding the following to your dog’s regular diet will also help support his system and protect kidney function:
Eggs - easily digested complete food
Small fish like mackerel, anchovies and sardines (canned is good and convenient)
      Sprouts
Small seeds - flax or sesame are great (crushed)
Herbs - dandelion and parsley (can gets as tincture if not fresh)
Add some fresh chopped herbs to your dog’s food - a pinch per 10 lbs up to 1 Tbsp for a dog 100 lbs or larger. If you buy dried herbs, capsules or a tincture, assume the dose on the label is for a 150 lb human and adjust the dose for your dog’s weight.
Avoid or minimize vaccines - since they’re a major cause of inflammation and the toxic adjuvants and additives can compromise your dog’s system. Since the kidneys flush toxins from the body, vaccines force the kidneys to work overtime anytime there’s a new toxin unreduced. Your dog’s kidneys don’t like those toxins and will work hard to flush them out.
Avoid drugs and toxins - Antibiotics are really hard on the kidneys and drugs that suppress symptoms are not actually doing anythin to heal the real issue. Use silver for antibiotic use: amzn.to/2UXexmC
Give a good quality probiotics to improve digestion overall and help the kidneys process better: amzn.to/3xqa2i0
If your dog has kidney issues, using fresh food as therapy and avoiding the drugs/vaccines the kidneys will suffer through is the way to go for your dogs health long term.
The Best Foods for Kidney Health
Dark leafy greens. Dark leafy green vegetables such as kale, spinach, chard, and collard greens are loaded with vitamins A and C, calcium, and many other important minerals.
      Berries.
      Cranberries.
      Sweet potatoes.
      Olive oil.
      Fatty fish.
      Sardines.
      Cabbage.
For proteins, feed sardines, eggs and meats.

Thank you for a most in formative reply. How do we know if the foods suggested are balanced. Could I ask what a 3kg Dobermain Pincher daily requirements are. For example... Copper, zinc and or oils so I can take each foods nutrient suggested and Google to see the fresh daily diet is balanced.

    • @DanScott1
      @DanScott1  2 роки тому +1

@@doreenhochman8873 I balannce the overall proteins, fats, carbs and then add in by weight the supplements. I'm not even going to pretend I know all the mineral, vitamin values individually, I just add reasonably balanced pre-mixes by weight for something approaching balance.
The truth is it's imposible to balance a canine diet 100% by anyone as no one actually knows what that it, so we approximate given the data we have. The canine diet (not the fake canned/packet stuff) has developed over 2 million years, so we pretty much guess with fair accuracy.
6oz food daily total. So for a 7lb pup i'd give two thirds of the meal as protein, 10-20% as fats, some from the fats of the meats, some from extra omega 3 oils: Hemp Seed oil: amzn.to/3vDdtjX
1/2tsp per meal. To this i'd add eggs/sardines/part cooked and blended veggies. Also can use freeze dried greens in the meal for all the micro nutrients needed, plus beta glucans (immunity), probiotics, (digestion) and tones of antioxidants crucial to dog health: Green Vibrance: amzn.to/3cOgzLu
That to me is pretty balanced. I'd add that it's also wise to stop vaccinations going forward to avoid the auto imuune diseases they cause (huge issue), vet drugs, vet diets, OTC drugs for flea/tick/worms etc as there are good natural alternatives.
Today, canine kidneys are simply being pickled by pet food, drugs and vaccines. It MUST stop for any hope of seeing the teenage years.

Hi Dan, good day to you! First of all thanks a lot for all of your videos and I got your book, they are all very great. Regarding Green Vibrance, the composition is amazing, we have the plain one and thinking of giving this to my dogs. There is just a question with regards to the natural flavoring (Vanifolia and Rhovanil, amounting to 30 to 35mg in Green Vibrance). These are all natural and non-GMO vanillin but I've read that vanillin, in general, has 30% alcohol content and from what I've read, dogs cannot metabolize alcohol. I would just like to get your opinion on this. Thanks a lot! - Kathleen

Hi Dan!! I wrote you from the website and email about an EMERGENCY SITUATION and VET VISIT I had with my boxer dog (he's the one that suffered anaphylaxis 1yr ago, and I have started him on raw the past month). Long story short he got into our cabinets, ate 2 boxes of Jell-O, took him to vet, his blood work shows elevated pancreas enzymes, they sent us home with 3 pills (Cerenia 24mg) for stomach upset, we haven't given it to him yet, but he just now vomited phlegm at 3am and is in obvious pain, licking his tummy, and is laying down carefully cuz it hurts him to sit down or lay down. Do you suggest I give him the meds? Do I fast him? Or have him on bone broth a couple days with the enzymes and probiotic supplements you suggested? I wrote a longer email, can you please get back with me as soon as possible, I know you're a busy man, I appreciate any advise for helping my dog heal and recover the next few days. Thanks so much for your help and your awesomeness. ~ A very worried fur Mama here, ~Jackie
