Yes! The greatest decade of music EVER! I’m a hair metal fanatic and Warrant are legendary. Check out Cherry Pie, Down Boys, Heaven. RIP Jani Lane a legendary voice gone too soon.
The lore is that Warrant originally wanted to title its album "Uncle Tom's Cabin," but the record label demanded that they come up with a better single that would sell. They quickly came up with the throwaway song "Cherry Pie" and that became what they were known for.

I was in the body bag when it was pulled out of the swamp at the end of the video. I was Uncle Tom's "body bag double". The video was filmed in Stephenville, Louisiana (just north of Morgan City). The bar was called T-man's. It is also the bar in Deja Vu that the ambulance crashed into
In the original video, the sheriff and his deputy are assaulting a woman, her boyfriend shows up, and the couple gets shot. Tom and his nephew go to the local bar, the shileriff is there and they lock eyes. Sheriff sees mud on the boots and knows they know. Tom pulls a gun on the Sherri and gets shot.. it ends with the nephew talking to other law enforcement

Saw Warrant in their prime and they were sure a good band. Under rated with a top tier singer.

Jani was my favorite front man. He gave everything to his audience. I saw the band several times, from big arenas to small dive bars. Jani Lane was an incredible songwriter. It is too bad he couldn't get rid of his demons.
I was at the taping of That Metal Show when Jami was the guest. It was his last interview as he died a week after the taping of the show. RIP Jani.

warrant. this is when butt rockers came about. I kinda spilled over no music in this era. Joined the USMC and kinda went into work for 5-6 years. Nose to the grindstone as it were. I missed out on a lot of this type of music. Thanks for song. I had never heard it before.

I have always liked this song way more than their biggest hits. Dunno how well it charted, but I doubt as good as their big singles. Great storytelling is right. And when it comes to their signature song “Cherry Pie”, Jani Lane himself (lead singer, R.I.P.) said the tune wasn’t even his idea. The record label called him and wanted a totally surefire hit track, so he wrote it. But he had no respect for his own success- he said “I could shoot myself in the head for writing that song” in one of his sad final interviews. But this is a tune I take very seriously.

Great song, and so was the band. It's too bad they struck fame when they did. For a decade, Rock was villainized and it's fans condescended, but 'They' were changing their tactics, and it was the beginning of the end. You know, if you know.
There's a great interview with Lyndsey Parker talking to Gunnar and Matthew Nelson. They talk about how grunge took over. Similar to how disco went away. Very interesting!
