Great informational video. I do mostly aerial work and always trying different frame rates and what is the best cinematic look I am looking for. A new fan.
Zdenka Darula lol! You need to take the time and shoot from above, the perspective adds to any movie. In my car, I am all aerial. I shoot in 30 FPS. Going to try 24.
Zdenka Darula l think that your voice quality, the tempo you choose, the appropriate pause & it’s duration & also the way you strongly emphasis certain words by stretchiiiing them, is creating the impact. One should also watch your videos to know how to talk effectively.
Thank you so much.... that comes from my past. I used to work as radio announcer in Czech... and also acting lessons I took in Toronto.... thank you again... it means a lot.
Zdenka I finally got it, I recorded at 60fps for slow motion scenes and then on Adobe Premiere Pro imported clips @60fps, then I selected all right click and use the option "Modify-Interpret footage-Assume this frame rate: 23.976fps" and voalá all my sequence is now 23.976 and can do slow motion without jittering. Thanks for all your videos.
well, not totally sure what I'm doing yet but my god isnt this the best vid I've seen relating to this in a language people can understand, Zdenka very well done, thank you, your tutorials for me are way better than anything else on YT. Stay safe.
Thanks so much Zdenka. Last year on holiday through Europe I somehow switched my camera settings from 24 to 60 fps halfway through the holiday without realizing. This presents an issue in post when trying to join all the clips into a full movie. Your advice will be a tremendous help with my editing. You're a gem.
The best video I have ever watched, this has helped me soooo much to understand how tackle new project I’m working on. Well done on your channel, love your work.
Thank you for your support and kind words. I kind of made the video for myself as well... to conclude what I learned myself. It helps all of us. 😁 have a great weekend
Another wonderful, fully explained video. Every time I begin to watch one of your videos, I know I will be learning something and that is will be fully explained with easily understood examples. Most importantly, you provide the "whys". This is the missing element in so many other UA-cam presenters. Thank you again for your quality work.
This is the perfect video for beginners who do not understand the intricacies of photography. I could not understand, until now, why some of the other youtube experts were pushing 24fps. With all of your knowledge, you should produce a paid video/photography class. New to your channel but learning a lot. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind words.. I am planning on making classes... just at pre-planning stage... once I reach 100K subscribers then it will be worth publishing.. 😉🎥📽📸📹
Canon plans to introduce 24p mode (23.98)fps for movie recording via a series of future firmware updates for select models. And for the EOS M6 Mark II during the first half of 2020 😁
I shoot in PAL these days, then there's also no problem with flickering lights which are 50Hz in Europe. And I don't usually worry about jitter in shots with people talking - it only matters with panning shots which as you said can be slowed down from 30 to 25 or 24.
Great tutorial video!!!! You have explained it well and easy enough for me to understand that concept a whole lot better!!!! Definitely a keeper and I will come back to this video. THANK YOU!!!!
Regards from Stockholm! A most helpful video! I'm stepping into more serious filming after using a camcorder for all these years. I see that you're using Canon. I'll be purchasing a GH5 this spring. I've rented on and really liked it as well as the challenges that using that camera presents. Thanks so much for this clip, well done. There's so much to learn.
This video earned my sub. Thank you. I literally just recorded a rant about how the famous UA-camrs constantly tell people to shoot in 24p, but leave out how to do that effectively. There will always be a little jitter (or jank as I call it. lol), but you've done a fantastic job explaining. People need to see this. Also thank you for not rushing through the content. Again GREAT JOB !
Love your videos .. they have been a great help as I now shoot with Canon M50, it is a fantastic camera for the amount of money I had to spend .. keep up the great work ..
Great video and awesome teachings. I will be using these techniques on my future projects and I know it will make my videos look more professional. Thank you.
I've recently found your channel and finding your content very useful and love the way you present your videos. I'm currently using an old Lumix bridge camera and a GoPro Hero 7 for my new running channel but I want to upgrade the Lumix to the Canon M50 when finances allow, hopefully in the first 1/4 of 2020. I'm still on a huge learning curve but gradually getting there. Keep up the good work and content.
This is Very Useful Video, as i was suffering for jerky video sometimes on my m50, this will help me out to do right thing in my next videos, Thanks a TON. From India
Great and easy explanation. thank you. Another tip could be if someone wants to bring back for example a 30fps shot modified to 24fps on a 24fps timeline to normal speed. It can be done by calculation 30 / 24 * 100 which equals to 125% speed duration in order to bring it to normal speed.
Thank you Violet. I am glad you liked it... to be honest I was having butterflies publishing this video as I wasn't sure if it was good and didn't make mistakes there.. 😁😁 have s nice day!

Really useful video, but will need to watch it again. Dropping 2.5 frames stuff went over the top of my head. Could I venture a suggestion that the studio light should be a little further away from you; at times the facial shadows are too pronounced?
Thank you.... the light is usually further... sometimes it is hard to manage it all.it is not easy to do... this video was hard. I had to really concentrate on what I am saying and forgot all else .. lol . next time will be better.
Zdenka, you talk about needing an ND filter, sometimes referring to stronger or lesser filters, but you do not tell us what strength filters you use. Great videos.

First time here and I love the way you explained things that I had questions on. Well Done my Friend, thanks for sharing your knowledge. New Sub. Here!!
Thank you for watching. What frame rate they usually record at? What camera are you using and what editing program are you using?
Zdenka Darula great tutorial Zdenka ! I use 60 frames per seconds most of the time 😄
Thank you Celine.... so you do film at 60fps.... interesting....
Great informational video. I do mostly aerial work and always trying different frame rates and what is the best cinematic look I am looking for. A new fan.
If you are using drone that k don't know... I haven't really tested mine... flew it only 1x lol...
Zdenka Darula lol! You need to take the time and shoot from above, the perspective adds to any movie. In my car, I am all aerial. I shoot in 30 FPS. Going to try 24.
The way you explain, everything becomes very simple, clear, easy.
Thank you for your support and kind words. I hear it lots... I guess it came from my Mom which is teacher... lol

You're an excellent teacher. Thank you for the lesson.
You're very welcome!
I tried understanding the frame rate and watched many videos. This one is the best. I now completely understand frame rates. Thank you, Zdenka.

FYI, in FCPX you can slow the footage down 80% and select "preserve pitch" so that the voice does not sound odd.
Great tip... didn't know that one...thank you!!!!
I like how clear, concise and helpful your videos are !!
Thank you for your support and kind words 📱📷📽
Thanks so much. Just what I was looking for. Ordered my Dji Om 5 yesterday. First time user. Cannot wait to get it on Saturday.

This was a well-explained video. Thank you! But one thing...at 8:23 you put 80% instead of 40.
Thank you for noticing... funny... watched it over and over and still missed something... cheers
Great lesson on frame rates! Thank you!

Dear mam intro in this video is awesome plz use it in all videos of yours in beginning
The best video about fps!!! Thks!!! Youre great
You are very welcome
Great video. Thank you. I never even thought what would happen if mixing videos with different fps, but this was great explanation...
Thank you. I am glad this video helped.
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts
Hello Z, awesome video. Thanks for sharing and making it so easy to understand. Welldone.
Thank you Violet. I am glad you liked it... to be honest I was having butterflies publishing this video as I wasn't sure if it was good and didn't make mistakes there.. 😁😁 have s nice day!
Thank you for your Very helpful videos. On this video I do wish that your examples were of more familiar activities like walking or humans interacting. The strength of the wind on the flowers and leaves influences how much they appear to be moving as much, if not more, than the fps settings. In other words, I had difficulty knowing the effect of the fps setting because I did not know what effect the wind was playing. Thanks again. I very much enjoy your teaching style.
Very good tut Zdenka :-)
Exactly the demo I was looking for!
I will be using my old (and only DSLR) camera for advancing my photography and learning videography.
Unfortunately, it only shoots at 24 and 30 fps. I refuse to upgrade it yet, and will only do it when I have gained sufficient knowledge and practice in both.
My disappointment today was actually funding out that my camera can't shoot at least 60 fps for the effect of slow motion.
However, it sounds like i can still achieve that dreamy looking motion when convert 30 fps to 80%?
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts
This is a great tutorial...What frame rate do I shoot and edit in no slow motion just natural look if im inside a car filming out the window at houses doing at least 60 mph?
For natural look at its always 24fps
Very informative.. Thanks
You are very welcome
Best explanation I've seen so far. I always shoot in 60fps. Most video is shot on my GoPro Hero 7 and I reduce in post if I want slow motion. Seems to work fine and I don't have to worry about switching frame rates as I'm hiking around.
🐼✌️👍🏽🧟♂️
Thank you for sharing.... that seems like a good strategy.
Awesome tutorial video. Thanks
You are very welcome. I am glad this video is well received 📷📱📽📹
Not sure if I missed it - what soft ware are you using in post ? Thanks !
It is adobe Premiere pro... all the way... 📷📹📱📽
Thanks for exampling this will you be making any videos showing the M6
You are very welcome. Yes videos about M6 mark ii will be coming up.
Thanks so much for this. It really filled in a lot of blanks for me.👍👍

Hi Zdenka hope you are well😀. It is jonathan again. My questions might sound very amature as I am a total beginner. I am currently using Samsung Galaxy S8 to take videos. 1. There are 5 video size settings of 16:9 of my phone's natural camera : HD, FHD, FHD(60fps), QHD, UHD. I would like to know which one I should use when it comes to shooting a B Roll? Do these options correspond to different frame rates as 24fps, 30, 60, 120 and 250?
2. I am using Viamaker to edit my videos. Do different video editing apps's timeline have different frame rates or is this something you can set within the editing app?
Thank you so much for your time and patience. 💗💗 J
Hello.... FHD is size 1080p, QHD or UHD is 4K.... for frame rates I suggest watching this video to understand it a bit
ua-cam.com/video/Bx1V6PqJZso/v-deo.html frame rates
"Halloween is coming up!" 😂😂😂 Thanks for always being so much fun to watch while you're educating me in all things film! 🙂
Brilliant tutorial. I am using entry level dslr for shooting videos. May i ask how do we select 30, 60 or different fps settings within dslr ?
Thank you very much. I wish I could answer that. I would have to see menu on your camera though....
Serious info here. Thank you!
You are very welcome
