I have been using oatmeal to wash my face with, it leaves it very soft and is very calming to the skin. I just put old fashioned oats into my blender and process until it is very fine and powdery, I also add 1 chamomile and 1 green tea teabag and process it a little bit more. To use you just make a paste using a little water and apply to your wet skin, then rinse if off. Love your videos.

I just found your channel and love it! Im also a soap maker and have a small business selling natural skincare. It is so nice to see others like myself that seek to educate folks on how to be healthier and more sustainable. Another great mask to make with bentonite clay is to mix it with yogurt and apply to face, especially acne prone areas. It makes the skin so soft afterwards.

I know this video is older but, OMG 😲 😭 you poor thing, thats horrible to deal with! Especially just after child birth, and then not wanting to have another child because of the issues and pain afterwards from the skin issue. Thats so sad. Im so happy you found something that works well for you and are shareing it now! Ive never had to many issue when i was pregnant but i did have some weird small rashes here and there, or my immune system would crash and id get super sick, and i was very anemic, my iron was so low. But that was it. But i couldnt imagine dealing with all that you went through. Then trying to care for a baby! But, i love that you share all these things with us. And to possibly help someone else that might be going through what you went through is so considerate of you! God bless! I love your videos!

I do not have oily skin and breakouts... but that's what got me into natural products. Because I DEFINITELY break out, itch, and have allergic reactions to almost all make up, especially foundations. Nothing makes me breakout like foundation! Bare Minerals was a product that I could use, but sometime in their history they switched up their formula and now it bothers my skin as well. :/ Glad to find these videos. I have eczema all over, and I'm looking for ways to calm it and rosacea down.

I keep manuka honey on hand. You have to be careful to get good quality with a high enough UMF factor to get the antibacterial benefits. It is awesome. If I feel a sore throat coming on, it usually stops it and I don’t wind up getting sick. The brand I have is Summer Glow. Great video! Thank you!

Ive had acne my whole life & always try natural diy recipes, ive tried manuka honey & bentonite clay, and on other occasions raw honey, my skin is to sensitive to just let the clay dry. My friend used the manuka honey and oregano oil to heal a staph infection that turned into MRSA!!

Just thought I would add something to the above comment. I am 55 and have had acne all my life until the age of about 50. The acne I had was not just small pimples but deep, hard pimples that when they finally came to the surface left scars. At around the age of 50, I started educating myself about food and all the additives in it. One of the first things I did was cut out all processed foods. And I mean ALL processed foods! The next thing I did was start reading labels and cutting out anything that had carrageenan as an ingredient. Carrageenan is a carcinogen and a gut disruptor among other things. It causes inflammation in your body and therefore I decided I was not ingesting it anymore. About four months after cutting out carrageenan, I was looking in the mirror putting my makeup on and realized I had not had any deep acne for the last couple months and overall I had no acne really to speak of. I'm not sure why it took me this long to notice it! I realized that the time frame corresponded to the same timeframe I had no longer been ingesting carrageenan-added products. I now know that it was my body trying to get rid this toxin. I might add that I also used to have lots of acne on my back and my shoulders and all of that has disappeared too! I kid you not, in the last 4.5 - 5 years, I have had maybe a dozen pimples and they have been basically the small little surface type. I have not had one deep boil-like pimple in all that time. So I think treating the surface of your skin with things like bentonite clay and essential oils is awesome but I think we have to look deeper to the cause and eliminate that if we truly want clear skin. Hopefully this will help someone else! Sorry for the book!

I use the oil cleansing method (which not everyone loves). I use castor (always) mixed with whatever oil is best for the season. Jojoba and sunflower are my favs. I infuse the oils with various things (like red clover, burdock, rose... and chamomile, coffee, elder leaf for dark eye circles) but always include calendula for eczema/dryness. I wash my face with that, then use a dab again to moisturize afterwards if it needs it. Once a week I do a plain honey mask. My 13-year old is getting acne, and my husband has it sometimes (my oil method works well but I'm always looking for mask ideas or something to dab on a problem spot). I love the info and will definitely use it. Thank you Heidi!

Have you looked into food allergies regarding acne & eczema? Think either Dr Wallach or Dr Mercola ... especially if acne is on cheeks. I have "Lichten" eczema on my cuticles from dairy & wheat/ gluten ... doctors for 6 weeks b4 a biopsy ID'd it. The only other issue was itchy skin around my hip bone area every winter. Wish I'd found this info a long time ago! Cosmetic peeps want to treat my skin as oily but that only makes it worse. Treating as normal to dry was way better!

Bentonite. I have used it on clients for a detox body wrap, this method is useful when trying to lose weight too. Very popular.
    Also use for Acne.
For a facial for sensitive skin, add honey, or an egg yolk to the bentonite, or use calamine powder instead of bentonite

Yes, a lot of people buy my skin cream but there are also quite a few that have made it for themselves using my recipe. It is not that hard and the good thing about making your own is you can tailor it to suit YOUR needs. Such as the person that recently contacted me about my skin cream asking if I sold any without lavender, which I do not, since the infused oil I make has lavender and other herbs but they could simply make their own by leaving out the lavender when they infuse the oil (which is super easy to do).

Skin issues: generally staying out of dairy (ice cream! ) & corn & wheat products helped the most with eczema & itching.
HOWEVER my first summer here n Ohio was my first experience with Chiggers.
I added some tea tree, clove, frankensence, myrrh & ylang ylang EO to avocado & coconut oil. It really helped plus repelled bugs. Amazingly my chiro said to rub some iodine (supplement) on skin. Wow did that ever knock out the redness!

I use my homemade skin cream on my heals when they start to crack. I try to keep up on it too so it prevents them from cracking again. It has worked wonders. When they are really dry and cracked, the first thing I do is use 60 grit sand paper to sand my heels. This is more gentle than scrapers. You can also use a pumas stone but sand paper is often easier to find. Then I apply the skin cream and put my socks on over. If they are real bad, repeat the application again in the evening and put clean socks on before going to bed but do not sand again, you do not want to sand or scrape too often or one can remove too much skin and then make the problem worse

I hate pesticides. I quit using them and heavy commercial fertalizers. When I did this I got frogs and toads that eat my bugs right off my roses and small beneficial garden variety snakes that take care of rodents like rats & mice. Of course, nothing works better than cats for mice. Without cat's we'd be over run with mice.
Don't use poisons because people's pets can invariably get into it. Neighbors dog in his own fenced yard got a hold of mice that the other neighbor had baited for and the dog nearly died twice. It cost them as much as a new car to save their precious pets life. So, please people do not put poison down you never know who's child's pet your killing. Save our bee population; no pesticides.
Use natural remedies or what God intended. He put controls in place and I love seeing all the wildlife and dragonflies. I have a frog bog and no mosquitos. Have cute ferocious little frogs and garden toads for nice plants and roses; no or very few bugs.

As stated in this video, I stopped using that toxic slug bait years ago (which was the only non organic thing I ever used in my garden) and even when I did, I used it very sparingly. . I have always tried to use natural as much as possible but most people just have no idea the amount of slugs a place that gets 120" of rain can get. Natural methods (other than chickens, ducks, or picking the slugs off by hand) simply do not work on them. Sluggo is totally safe and I was glad to find that out but even then I only use it when I really have to around plants I really need to save from the slugs. Most of the time I just grow enough to feed the slugs and us too because beer, DE, coffee, egg shells, copper, you name it, do not work here.

What’s a frog bog? Sounds neat?

@@irenecostigan3623 A frog bog is a small 20 gallon plastic garden pond sunk into one of my gardens with medium/large pieces of slate rock around it. I have gravel and water plants in it in the spring and summer and always have frogs which plunk loudly in the water if I get too close to that garden. If I get just close enough, I can see their heads sticking out of the water.
I had it in a year and got frogs the following year. We live not too far from a natural boggy stream, so, it took them a while to find it. Now that they have and the bugs my garden can attract; they have a place to rest, breed, and eat. A soup and salad bar for frogs.
I have moss frogs also known as grass frog and several species of tree frogs the green and the lacey types.
At times I see varmints taking a quick drink before moving on and a neighborhood kitty or two. All are welcome to my small patch of joy.

@@edieboudreau9637 Still not sure what you mean by "Cold cure". I simply allow them to dry on racks for at least four weeks

Rain Country I think that may be it. I react to a lot of soaps allergically. A former friend (that I thought was still one) called it that & said it took 6 weeks. All I know is it worked.
