Very much so. It should be enough that he's a stage actor with a solid reel and literally agent 47 in the flesh and voice. But studio producers and executives want actors that have a "name".
So this guy is the voice of 47 for 19 years he even looks like 47 he's connected with the character and yet they go hire some other actors to play 47 in movies.....
I think he was probably offered the role to play Agent 47 in the movies because why wouldn't they try to get the man himself. David Bateson probably realized that the movies were going to be terrible and would be unfaithful to the character of Agent 47. Just listen to what he said in this interview: "Agent 47 doesn't talk this much" and "this isn't what 47 is like". He *knows* who agent 47 is and is a bit protective of him and because of that he probably won't take on any roles as him in movies because he just knows they will butcher it, and that's what every single Hitman movie has done. Every single Hitman movie utterly failed to stay true to the original. Playing those roles would have been a stain on his name.
He seems to mostly do voice work, just because you're a voice actor doesn't mean you'll do great on film. Just speculation, but there's a lot more that goes into it, why do you think they get people like Tara Strong and Tom Kenny to do so many characters but get famous actors to play the roles in live action movies?
idk. Hitman is a mostly estoic and quiet character, it would be pretty dificult to make a show about a guy that is almost mude. But if they manage to do it well. im happy with it
Anthony Ortiz Thats’d be so cool! It could be an eight-part, hour long series where each episode is a different contract and it gives flashes of his past throughout each one. Like, we see him knocking people out and stealing outfits and doing accident assassinations. I’d love that!
Yeah but I don’t give a shit about how good he was; nobody should be working for free. To imply he did this voice acting for peanuts is pretty stupid, especially when he’s so established and in demand.
I'm willing to bet he's paid handsomely. No only that but the fact they never wanted to deviate from his voice talents and he never walking away from the role goes to show that they have a good relationship
