Did you already do the Interdictor class Cruiser of the Mandalorian and Jedi Civil War?

This ship is an absolute beauty. Also, the bridge is just not sticking out.
@@twstf8905 yea it was only a matter of time before he would show up again. Heck I half expected him to show up in GF's best sci-fi naval series defending the Galactic Empire and saying the other navies were inferior
@@Imperius254 The Lancer frigate was a great ship that would have devastated the Rebellion if built and deployed in numbers to cover the massive vulnerability of ISD's to fighters, but the Empire was to *incompetent* to do so.
So it is a fitting moniker as it reminds everyone of how _stupid_ the Empire was.
@@casbot71 its even better when you realize that the frigate had a number of design flaws that rendered it moot in its given role
This one also seems to be way better balanced for it´s roles and has a superior armament both offensive and defensive.
@@noway6633 I do hope you realize what we were doing because of who had a comment in this thread but seems to have removed it(at least that's on my screen) and if you don't know who we we're referring to, than you truly are an innocent being
How sad is it when the Imperial Star Destroyer is twice the size of the Harrower at 1600m. Yet the Harrower only 800m can carries more Fighters, bombers and has everything it needs to be a Frontline capital ship including a strong point defense system.
Well the ISD is a better ship for invading a world since it has not only around 2.000 more soldiers but also heavy armored vehicles. It may also be that its main weapons are stronger, and surely the ship is much faster with the modern hyperdrive (I guess). The lack of good point defense is indeed a big disadvantage.
@@chrissonofpear1384 To be honest I would think that is more an error in pictures (I mean that is not a documentary in which everything fit, it should look cool, not be in every aspect "right"). In-story it may be that among the ships were prototyps/flaggships which were bigger?
@@marcbartuschka6372 I agree, not only does it carry AT-AT and AT-ST it also packs a prefabricated garrison infrastructure to drop on a subjugated world. As for the issue of point defence well I think this is frankly an oversight of the first Star Wars movies. Maybe it was decided that dogfights were more exciting than seeing a veritable storm of blaster fire exploding from a Star Destroyers point defense network.
@@Zergonapal I'm guessing that this is the case, yes. The space combat in A New Hope was heavily inspired by WW2 movies, more specifically a movie that involved low-flying British bombers/fighters on a mission to hit a high-priority target on the ground. The Star Destroyers would be the Star Wars analogue to battleships, which were generally not very effective against aircraft (correct me if I'm wrong).
@@dragonslair951167 WW2 battleships were packed with heavy machine guns, flak guns etc. too, still didn't stop them from being sunk by torpedo bombers.
Flez is a truly great human it would seem
Ah, the Harrower. Quite the beautiful beast. Also has the perfect star wars bridge IMO. Has a great view of the battlefield and isn't overexposed like the venator and imperial class.
If I had my own star wars fleet, my mainline battleship would either be a modernised Harrower or a Nebula class destroyer
I would go for mass produced updated nebulon types. without the needle thin spar between the engines and main part of the ship.
24 fighters, a dozen or so upscale turbolasers and ion cannons, and a few escort ships is all I need.
It is funny how everyone says what this would be their design for main ship. None of these famous ships would be useful in defensive a purposes. They are good for offensive purposes or for several hundreds of systems as main ship. But they would be nearly useless in real defense of planet or several systems. For small factions is best to use a lot of small, cheep, easy to build ships deployed in large numbers.
@@Predator42ID But they are not cost effective. I didn't mean that all capital ships are useless in defense but thinking about how many small ships you could bought instead of one big ship ... And ultimately the solution that I presented was generally mostly used in small faction.
Just buy a lot of trading ships and armed them with guns.
Edit: When I thought about it this is the case with Lurcehulk.
@@troo_6656 static fortifications are useless when the main guns on a capital ship can plink from an AU away.
the wave Crest frigate is what I would propose as the perfect starwars ship.
switch the main guns to be mounted on the blade and you have better shot deflection and firing angles than any ISD.
finally a small fighter bay on top of the blade that opens up could launch fighters in any direction without risk of shots being put inside of the ship, ala the giant gash that is all starwars fighter bays.
bridges/cic's should always be in the center of a ship and very heavily armored, exposed bridges are a very bad idea
THE best ship in Star Wars universe.
Good design, competent in battle, has weapons on the bottom, can carry starfighters
and most importantly: doesn't have the length of 999 km or other superweapon nonsense.
Glory to the Empire!
And it can mount superweapons
Ever heard of the Gauntlet? ua-cam.com/video/Fv9YsXkEBc4/v-deo.html
The Silencer Fleet killer Laser which was Created thanks to Darth Nox
@@marseldagistani1989 which the Harrower even more useful
Meh.
The best looking “evil” Star Wars ship. If they don’t canonize this design in a future Disney production, they are dummies.
Might be for the better that Disney doesn't touch these gems.
Rebels mentions and kind of shows the sacking of Courascaunt
if disney dont canonize this kind of ships this means only one thing. we can use those ships witout fearing copyrights (i am not werry informed about this. this is what i think only)
I'm the 100th like!
I think the Munificent-class star frigate is a close 2nd, but the separatists are the good gies.
I hope this ship is brought back into canon at some point.
Maybe Disney can make a movie about the old republic in the future.
I hope it isn't and that Disney keeps its incompetent ass far away from anything related to the old republic. They already shit on the original trilogy they can leave the rest alone
@@vonfaustien3957 cry harder bitch 🤣 TOR needs to be erased for what it dod to Kotor II
@The high ground I'm not the one bitching about "muh dibney"
Canon is a point of view
Oh my flipping....you have no idea how happy it makes me to see the TOR era getting some real *genuine* love when other SW content creators try to shun or sweep it under the rug. I've always loved the Harrower Class, especially for all its variants. Darth Marr really needed to have more, RIP Marr...you'll always be one with the Force and my heart.
Long live the Sith Empire!
Oh, how I love that ship. Such a beautiful piece of history.
Thrawn. Good to meet a fellow tactician. I'm a big fan of your earlier work, namely the Pincer
@@gammarailgun5406 Why, thank you. Forgive me for noticing that your profile picture is a .gif file? I was unaware UA-cam supported that, however limited.

@@grand-dadmiral comments on the MCRN?
I remember watching the cinematics for SWTOR and seeing the Harrower for the first time. It was love at first sight. It instantly became my favourite SW ship
This right here might be one of the, if not the best ship design in SW and definitely one of the best battlecarriers in all of space operas.
Harrower has reasonable size, numerous properly positioned anti-capital ship weapons on both dorsal and ventral sides (big plus in this IP), dedicated point defence grid, missile and torpedo launchers and a lot of hangars for strike craft positioned all around the ship, which prevents the enemy from spamming weapons on all launching fighters at once (which is weakness found on many SW carriers).
On top of that the ship has numerous backup systems and avoids overexposing critical parts of the ship, which combined with it's futuristic look makes ship, that looks both cool and functional.
Whoever designed this vessel has my respect, this little beauty is just gorgeous!
My favorite ship in all of Star Wars. It just looks so mean and practical at the same time. Love it
Harrower best ship, must become canon.
Above all other Star Wars games, I think SWTOR has provided me with the most enjoyment over the years, everything about it was great, and gave me a chance to exist in my favorite universe with others.
well said !
I love this thing it looks way more formidable than an ISD
May I just ask what you base that statement on?
@@jonashemmingsson7301 It looks like it has more weapons it has much less exposed bridge two more shield generators not to mention all four generators are not exposed and larger fighter complement
@@isimiel3405 You are aware that the exposed "shield generators" on the ISD are actually sensor domes and auxiliary bridge shield generators, right?
With that said, it's very difficult to make a fair comparison between the ISD and Harrower due to the difference in age. The ISD would of course beat a Harrower in a 1v1 due to being newer and twice as large, but the Harrower was definitely extremely powerful for its time. (And also a very cool ship indeed)
@@jonashemmingsson7301 no those ARE shield generators ( i.pinimg.com/originals/f4/03/92/f403922d61e43a57d3e800b3180ebe96.jpg , vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/c/c2/ISD_blueprints.png/revision/latest?cb=20151014140308 ) i never said it could take it 1v1 i just said it looks more formidable (2 v 1 would be another story imo)
@@isimiel3405 You did indeed say that it looks more formidable and I am not here to argue with that.
And yes, the ISD-72x domes do double as shield generators, but they are stated to be *auxiliary* shield generators, not the primary shield generators
Would love if you covered the hammerhead cruiser from the old republic, never really see enough coverage for such an iconic ship
This ship looks so good in the Old Republic-clips you can find on UA-cam. You all should check them out.👌
Love the Harrower class. My absolute favorite Star Wars Capital ship design. I just wish there was a definite number on the weapons emplacements.
This probably my favorite capital ship in terms of look and outright competency. It boasts an almost unrivaled balance of every aspect required of a capital ship, without the massive weaknesses of other ships in the same or later eras.
If Imp SDs had been based off these and just updated and upsized then I believe the rebels might not have been able to achieve many of the victories they did, much less actually win.
This is my second favorite Old Republic ship, behind the Fury Class Interceptor. Gods I hope they make a faithful trilogy of Old Republic movies with these ships.
Do all the old republic era ships, units etc.
Mybe not all, but some :)
@Zerebrat Eightyseven It's called a Manka-Class.
I wish I could see one of these in a canon old republic movie, ramming into a republic capital ship, with all guns blazing.
You'm should have talked also about the modifications that turned some Harrowers into super weapons like the Silencer.
But awesome presentation regardless
I love how the designers took a look at the ISDs introduced in the original trilogy and asked themselves "Where could this design have come from? From what historic design did the designers draw when designing this new ship?".
One of my favorite ships.
Everything you people do on this channel is near perfect, I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS SO MUCH!
I absolutely love this ship.
Best ship, I love it so much. Thank you
Finally an episode on my all time favorit Space Ship! A massive thank you from a long time lurker.
Excellent video, gorgeous ship! Would love to see more of it.
Do the valour cruiser. It was more of a strike cruiser/star fighter carrier. According to my knowledge
Yes.
Sith patriot I see?
I like most of the old republic era ships but mainly like the republics ships
Awesome video! The Empire is my 2nd favorite space navy next to the Imperial Navy of the Imperium of Mankind from 40K. Hope to see videos on those ships soon! Your Resurgent Class SD was one of the best imo :)
This is definitely your favorite starwars ship,so it was about time you made a video on it
Oh my god, I've waited for this video for so long...This is by far the best looking ship IMO
Thank you Spacedock
Out of all the ship designs in Star Wars history, the Harrower and its variants are my absolute favourites
Favorite Old Republic era ship. Love it. Would die of awesomeness overdoes if they made a modern version of it in some show or movie. Or featured it in the Old Republic era movie.
Epic...
Great video! Would love love old republic era videos... wonderful design aesthetic
One of the finest contributions to Star Wars lore.
Excellent video.
Another great video, this 'someone doing a history lecture' style that you do really makes these pop even as much as I love your unscripted rambles as I do enjoy your non academic opinion on ships and sci-fi series
Yet another proof of Expanded Universe superiority!
@@noway6633 There is 1 ok ship and that is the RSD. Fighters are re-skins, B17 space bomber is dumb, Mandator IV is even worse
One notable variant of the Harrower-class was the battleship _Doombringer_ , a one-off modification fitted with a prototype Silencer superlaser cannon. It played a significant role in the ascendance of one Darth Nox to the Dark Council; Nox's master, Darth Thanaton, had publicly cancelled the Silencer project, but Nox continued to pursue it in private in an effort to win the favor of the Imperial military in his fight to overthrow Thanaton. The _Doombringer_ eerily foreshadowed the creation of the _Conqueror_ star destroyer almost four thousand years later under the Galactic Empire.
I realy love the desing of the harrower stardestroyers just the mid section as a ship bay is just amazing
Great episode, always loved the Harrower! Can you do a vid on the Valor class of the Republic since they went head to head.
Something I for one would love to see would be a basic over look of the old republic sith empire fleet.
My favorite Imperial vessel.
Great video.
Something that always confuses me about the star wars universe as a whole is the lack of technological development for seemingly impossible stretches of time. The period around the sith war, which I think was at least 3000 to 4000 years before the "old republic" timeline, had turbolasers, stealth technology, extremely advanced metallurgy (alchemy), and the same concussion missiles and proton torpedo weapons we see even in the yuuzhan vong era. In many ways, the ships and weapons systems were more advanced during the sith war than they are during later timelines, I suppose due to a sort of technological dark age that arose after the conflict. But I always find it interesting when I am introduced to a ship from an earlier timeline that sounds as if it is better armed, armored, shielded and generally superior in design than most "modern vessels".
I legitimately cannot tell if it's because of power-creep in the writing (since much of the older history was actually written after the later timelines) or if it really is meant to convey just how amazing the technology was before the droid scare, and technological backwardness that happened in the old republic era.
One thing I do find very, very interesting about star wars lore is that there is clearly some kind of "lost history" where people seem to have never heard of the Sith, or the indescribably massive war for the galaxy that you would think would be in just about every history lesson, if for no other reason than to prevent a repeat of similar events. It leads me to question whether there was a conscious effort by leaders at the time to suppress education in general, since so many worlds seem to have an almost feudal structure (despite claiming to be democracies or republics) and keeping a serf-like populous at a lower education level makes rulership a bit easier.
It feels like individual worlds often have a feudal lord structure, but participate in a "republic" only on a galactic scale. They send representatives to the republic senate, but when we are given a glimpse into the home worlds of these senators we find the general populous is tribal or city states or feudal, with the masses seeming to possess only passing educations while the elite benefit from their wealth and power. It creates a strange dichotomy where everyone uses advanced technology which is treated no differently than we treat a hammer or a wrench, but social structures haven't evolved or changed significantly for thousands of years. I love this aspect of the setting almost as much as I am frustrated by it.
One of my favorite starships in all of sci find. Love it!
Love you guys!
Oh this made me smile :) I love that ship more than any other ship in all of Star Wars.
One of my favorite ships, thank you for doing an old republic ship! Centurion Class Battlecruiser next?
Good episode!
I love, that the old republic gets your attention. Its an awesome time period. 👍👍and i find it very sad, that it isn’t talked about more often.
I love how the screen at 3:54 just straight up has an isd on it
Thats fucking weird, that must of remained as a blueprint, sith empire must of never constructed ISD not even a prototype , I can imagine those Star Destroyer in civil war era as Sith star Destroyer. If only the sith empire didn't collapse, that would of have been improved on a lot and used against the republic with the assist of sith warriors, as Dromund Kass as still capital
Probably my favourite capital class ship tank you for this
Not a fan of the fixed fork prongs at the bow. If it could open and close, it would make sense but as is, its like its just begging enemy fighters to fly in.
Would be awesome if they can turn it into a giant lightsaber considering the Sith like to do ramming attacks.
In one off models the central bay is often refit for superweapons to take their place. Flying in between as a fighter seems like it would just make you have to contend with point defense on 3 planes rather than 1, and it provides extra cover for the launched fighters at their moment of take-off.
Darth Imperius aproves !!!
This is by far my favorite Star Wars ship, both in design and function.
I remember when I finally got my Guild Ship on TOR, a 3D printed Harrower graces my Armada collection. Cheers Dan
One of my favorite Star Wars capital ships of all time, up there with the Terminus destroyer and the Vengeance SSD.
I love this vessel, my favourite designed warship in all of star wars
This warship looks great. 😮
Thanks for the vid sir.👍🏼👍🏼
Can you please make more sojourn episodes?
Also, I'd appreciate it if you could look at some legacy era ships from star wars.
But, great video! The harrower has always been one of my favorite ships in star wars.
I had an awesome scene in my mind. when I you talked about some sith ramming other ships. I like to imagine that the middle hanger bay between the prongs could be used to directly deposit troops into an enemy ship when the harrower rammed the ship. I want to see that in a movie.
One of my favorite ships in Star Wars
Finally, an expanded universe video on youtube
Thanks for the content.
This and the resurgent are my favorite star destroyer designs
This is my absolute favorite Star Wars ship!
The Harrower is my personal favourite. It has one of the best ship designs in all of Star Wars.
Please do more old republic and legends ship breakdown like the Valor-class cruiser!
I think I've found the model I want to use for my future super heavy fleet carrier.
The only problem being: I want it to also be able to deploy lots of ground forces, and delivery through air transports is, not the most efficient, even though effective.
at 3:55 you can see the og design of the star destroyer Vikon came up with and it didn't have the bridge exposed as it did in the cannon star wars
Oh wow, that's a VERY cool design. Nice history lesson, also. :D
Love it!... Having played KotOR I recognize some of those names.. it brings it all home to a better understanding... so thank you!!
Hell yeah man! I love this design! If I could have any star wars ship, It would probably be this one.
At 800m, I believe it would be right about the same size as the Galaxy-class starship from Star Trek. I'm betting the shields and type 10 phasers from the NCC 1701D would be more than a match for the Harrower to keep up long in a battle with it, though on the other hand, it may be able to hang a long time in the fight, dish out very punishing firepower & ultimately come out on top.
One of my favourite sci-fi ships, if not my absolute favourite, I have a fully unlocked one on SWTOR and she's a beauty if I do say so myself.
Well great, this video has added at least two more ships to my long list of LEGO ships to build. But I've already got a Microfighter of the Harrower with Darth Ikoral.
One of my favourite ships in all science fiction menacing practical and emboiding the Sith Dawanist philosophy as only the superior shall survive.
Love the look of this ship
Nice vid, should cover the Valor Class cruiser next
Its weapon system remind me of Galactica with the flak layer and carrier functions along with the missle ports
It is, without a doubt, one of the coolest Star Destroyer styled ships.
I truly love this ship, would love to see a comparison to star trek ships such as romulan dreadnought .
Really shows that history effects the present and the future even if it’s forgotten
I had a ship to recommend the Arc Hammer star destroyer I would love to see that!
Even long forgotten. The Sith Empire's influence endured.
I love this ship
You can see some Arquitens, Venator and Imperial class design influences in it on the part of the game developers
I’m curious about the Voidstar even though in the game it’s just one of these I feel like it was meant to to be something else or a maybe bigger version and more powerful.
A fearsome ship indeed, and a beautiful one to be sure.
It’s amusing to see how the ISD diverted from the fork shape to the wedge shape (« ironic »)
Also, can we request a review about a specific ship?
It's a really nice ship!
The Sith Empire has Returned!
This is my favorite capital class ship in Star Wars!
I would like him to cover some of the ships from the StarCraft games.
finally the best looking star wars ship
That was STELLAR
I'm suddenly obsessed with finding where exactly the BRIDGE is, and I realize the in-game bridge of the Harrower cruiser does not match what we see. It's round - and here we see a mostly flat section (where it looks like a mini cruiser on top of the main hull).
I've been using the new fleet decorations and wanted to be sure there was room for the imaginary rooms behind those doors we have now...
Seems that the harrower has plenty of space on the sides of the bridge, whereas the republic valor-class is just some kind of crow nest sticking out (and a sitting duck too...)
I love this design. I actually created a hybrid cruiser carrier from this design
The Harrower was one of the main reasons I fell in love with the Old Republic.
Now I need to find a model of this ship.
