Finally, the intro to the Warlord Era of the true timeline! Lot of potential for videos here, Grand Moff Ardus Kaine's Pentastar Alignment, Warlord Zsinj's Empire, High Admiral Treuten Teradoc's Greater Maldrood, Superior General Sander Delvardus Eriadu Authority, Supreme Warlord Blitzer Harrsk's Zero Command, Moff Utoxx Prentioch's Dominion, Moff Par Lankin's Lambda Sector, the apocalyptic mutual destruction of Grand Admiral Josef Grunger and Grand Admiral Danetta Pitta's massive fleets in the battle of Tralus...the list goes on.
Prince High Admiral Delak Krennel's Ciutric Hegemony and Emperor Palpatine's Dark Empire, Carnor Jax's Crimson Empire,Restored Empire,Second Imperium and finally the Imperial Remnant/Fel Empire.
@@My19922 just Prince Admiral. "High Admiral" was claimed by both Teradoc brothers and one source mistakenly attributes 'Lord High Admiral' to Harrsk, though he claimed 'Supreme Warlord' as his title. But yeah, there's a ton of great characters and factions to explore post Endor. The Warlord era makes the Clone Wars look like a cute little skirmish.
So nice to see I am not alone. I didn't have access to the books so all of this is fascinating. I am old enough to have to wait for Christmas to see them OT on TV as we didn't have a VCR ( pre 84), then we got the toys man I wish we knew this lore then our battles would have been even more epic. It broke my heart that I couldn't share it with my kids but Disney had it by then. I hope this channel creator does more in depth about the EU.
Corey's Datapad does a good breakdown of some of them. There's also Eckharts Ladder, MandaLore as well as StarWarsGalacticEmpire Imperials Explained that cover this era well.
It actually has more sense than what happened in disnep fan fiction. "hurr durr evil empire holding galaxy under iron hand has collapsed after year after endor and disapeared". While in Legends it lasted for more than 15 years.
It really bums me out that this video is not seeing thr viewership thay other videos have, because this has got to be the best video I've seen you make. So well done, info kept tight and relevant, and well resarched. My only complaint is leaving out some info i feot would have been fun to include, such as the imperials on Bakura not believing the Rebels have defeated the Emperor and such. I hope tou make more legends focused content like this. Perhaps a string of CWMMP battles that shaped anakin? Perhaps a sequel to this video, wince this covered mostly thr rebellion POV, seeing you continue the fall of the empire woth a focus on the warlords thay tried to take control up until Pelleaons treaty with the NR would make such a great companion piece to tbis video.
So this episode shows the rebels go from one of their biggest defeats at Hoth that nearly saw the end of the war with an Imperial victory to Coruscant where it's the Empire on the defeat and not the Rebellion (New Republic)
Darn, the interbellum era isn't here. If only Marvel 1977, Classic Star Wars, Empire+Rebellion, Star Wars 2013, and other stories set during it weren't extremely inconsistent and somewhat incompatible.
The Empire never falls in Legends. It just coexists with the New Republic and ends up being the good guys with Jedi. In the end, the Fel Empire is the last thing we see in control. Which is realistic. You can't just be like Disney and say Palpatine died and every Imperial suddenly forgot how to drive, shoot, plan, and mentally function. Empires do not fall like ever especially when they are that massive and despite the Rebellion, very much still supported. Funny thing is that even in Legends, the New Republic was worse than the Empire and in the end, what Palpatine started remained but with a better heart.
Imperial factions still exist in Disney's canon though. And like in legends the Empire didn't just immediately fall with Palpatine's death, I have no idea where you're getting that from.
It was a book, not comics. There's a lot of alien species that were hostile to the New Republic and the Empire. The weird Marvel comics you should be referencing are the Tof who had literal pirate sailing ships and dressed like 16th century buccaneers. THOSE were weird
I freely admit I'm a much bigger Clone Wars fan, that's one of the reasons I love this channel so much, thus my knowledge of the Galactic Civil War is very limited, but I was expecting there to be more important battles to be fought between Yavin and Hoth, since the time between those two battles is three years I assume more battles happened. Also, the Rebels and Imperials having to team up to fight a third power during the Battle of Bakura wasn't surprising. What was surprising was the fact that the third power were dinosaurs by the looks of things. And people laugh when we in the crossover community try to have any franchise crossover with Star Wars thinking it's crazy, oh yeah Pooh, Pokemon, and Ponies being in the Star Wars universe, but the Billars, the Ceruk, all the insectoid species, and many other species they all make perfect sense and aren't crazy. LOL.
There were. Alien Warlord Nuso Esva tried to manipulate the Rebellion, the Empire and Thrawn into a mutual destruction for his benefit in the Poln System. Prince Xizor and Black Sun fought with the Rebels and Vader. The Dark Trooper and TIE Phantom Projects were destroyed by the Rebels. There was the Zaarin Insurrection where the Grand Admiral that invented the TIE Defender staged a coup and fought Thrawn for six months. A lot happened that was big between Yavin, Hoth and Endor.
Imagine if the star forge was around Or there where more of them or The republic In their thousands of years made more of them That would have helped the empire A lot
If I remember right, one of the last stories in the legacy era before Disney cancelled it was that the remains of the Starforge were potentially rebuilding themselves into a second one.
The Galactic Empire was doomed from the start as Darth Sidious didn’t realize that his power structure would have cannibalize itself for rivals to an advantage over themselves while depleting the resources of the Empire.
Not to mention the fact that the military was constantly being expanded to the point that the economy would have collapsed in on itself. His Empire was going down regardless of weather the Rebels won or not. Like an Orbarus Snake it would consume itself.
Didnt he do it intentionally? He assumed that he would be in power (essentially immortal/forever). And like the comments above, the constant backstabbing to earn the Emperor's favour is what kept them weak.
Legends did a far better job of handling the fall of the empire, The death of the emperor was definitely a crippling blow, but it wasn't enough to kill it. It remained still quite powerful despite losing it's indispensable leader in the form of Palpatine, despite much of its territory fragmenting into warlord fiefdoms that being reduced to a dysfunctional rump State based in the core and mid rim. They eventually lost it's Capital world, but managed we retake it briefly and managed to push the rebels back to the outer rim under Palpatine reborn for a time, and endured a series of lesser revivals and pulling of some cunning yet awful tricks doing so, until finally after 11 years of conflict they were final reduced to a small number of sectors in the outer rim and was still a force to be reckoned with, even some of the warlords were nothing to sneeze at despite going going rogue, especial Zsinj. So despite beating it, The rebels were never able to destroy it, and in a few generations later the empire again experienced a positive reversal of fortunes and a clawed back much of its lost power and prestige under the Fel dynasty. Despite some incoherency and quality issues in legends, I think it did a way better job of handling the fall of the empire. Strong states like the empire just don't disappear in a year's time as they do in Canon.
