Method 3 could be a jig to make the teeth with a router

Yes, one could make a router jig to make the spur gear teeth. A scroll saw or band saw is pretty fast and gives very smooth teeth. I would be worried about "blowing out" a chunk of tooth using a router, but if you made many passes with the router, you might be ok. Nice thing about woodworking, there are usually a ton of options on how to make parts :) Thanks for watching !!
