- Battlestar Galactica '78 sometimes feels like a Star Wars clone. It's theme definitely goes well with Star Wars' opening crawl.

The Galactica theme tune was one of the best things about that show.
I once joked (probably not true but kind of sounds funny) that the reason the shows budget totally dried up by 1980 and it was canceled too soon was because they spent half of their funding to hire the world's best orchestra. Those really might have been the best orchestra musicians who ever lived. I would love to see a video of them performing it on stage. No science fiction scenes just the orchestra. Plus it would be fun to see what instruments are producing which sounds.
Actually had a good feeling to it
Next I want Star Wars music used for Battlestar. As I posted above it only seems odd because we have gotten used to matching the theme with the movies since 1977 or 1978 for the show. In an alternate universe where what we in this universe call the Battlestar Galactica theme had been used for Star Wars and we had gotten used to it from the start it would have worked just fine. Nobody would think it was odd.
I did exactly this when I was younger by listening to my CD player while watching the movie on mute.
My god he actually did it
Universal Pictures owns the Battlestar Galactica franchise. Imagine Mark Hamill playing either Captain Apollo or Lieutenant Starbuck on that TV show might give him the Star Wars boost even in the 2004 reboot.
He is too old. Adama maybe though.
@@johntrevy1 If Carrie Fisher's daughter did a new Battlestar Galactica movie is something she must do.
Dirk Benedict and Richard Hatch were more handsome and more charismatic than Mark Hammil and they were more handsome and charismatic than the actors who portrayed the newer versions of them in the early 2000s remake.
@@Zurround Well at least Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher are box office blockbusters.
It works well
Something like this was done with the opening crawl to _Airplane II: The Sequel_ ( _Flying High II: The Sequel_ in some countries).
This looks weird to us only because its not what we are used to. In some alternate universe if that theme had originally been used for Star Wars that would just be standard for us and we would all be just fine with it. In fact in my opinion despite Star Wars being way better overall one of the very few things that Battlestar actually did better was the theme music. I am kind of joking because its for facts and not opinions but I think Battlestar Galactica should be written up in the GUINESS BOOK OF WORLD RECORDS for the best theme music for a television show.
How about Happy days theme to Friends and vice versa.
Better
Don't give CBS any ideas they actually will rip off this.
