Picard season 3 was really satisfying . They got a lot right in this season and the end credits music was excellent. After the debacle of season 2 they clearly put a lot of thought for this season. I think they realised that what made Picard such a good character was the people around him and getting all the old crew together for one last hurrah was the right thing to do .
Me and my dad are huge fans, he saw the trailer for se3 (and loved it) while he was battling cancer. Sadly he passed before seeing the series. He would have loved it - really loved it. Thank you Picard se3 for being what the fans wanted and needed. My dad would have thanked you, so I am instead. Love you dad.
The ending - "For Annie" is for "Annie Wersching" best known for her role as the Borg Queen, she made her TV debut on Star Trek: Enterprise way back in 2002. Annie passed away in Los Angeles at the age of 45 on January 29, 2023, after a 3 year battle with cancer.
It's by far the best. Tbh I think it's insane when watching The First Contact for the first time, you listen to the intro theme, which is great, and then watch the movie. Then you watch it again and realize that this theme covery the exact whole feeling of this amazing movie, that it fits so perfectly and suddenly it becomes even a million times better. Rarely ever had than on another movie.
Few pieces of music make me cry and Jerry's themes for ST8 is one of them. To hear it again at the end of Piccard season 3, 25 years after it was composed, made me cry tears of joy and appreciation. Given the size and scale of the entire Star Trek universe in terms of story telling, it is incredible how much of it is, musically speaking, the work of Jerry Goldsmith. Long live the king!
Terry Matalas absolutely, undeniably, ultimately killed it with this season! Best Star Trek I've watched in 15 years. Seeing almost all of the original cast of TNG together again...and on the bridge of the Enterprise-D. Still gives me goosebumps.
I totally agree. Seasons 1 and 2 had some positive moments, but they were weaker based on writing and even execution. Season 3 was so excellent due to several factors, namely the reunion of _The Next Generation_ cast, family being a central theme, the use of classical scores, and references to multiple classic series as well as _First Contact._ It was so wonderful to see these iconic characters as we remember them yet also in different places after about 20 years since their last voyage together.
@@1978rharris You can promise all you like! I wouldn't count on anything being "fact" with what has gone on with ST over the last few years. It feels like we were very "lucky" to get Picard season 3 the way it was.. Hopefully you are right though and we get a good younger generation "Legacy" with some of the TNG cast.
I think the First Contact music was a foreshadowing of the involvement of the Borg in this season. Love it, brings back childhood memories when I was a kid. ❤ this upcoming last episode will surely be bittersweet.
Season 3 has been excellent. It takes me back to watching tng when it first aired all those years ago.with my mum.She is no longer with us but she would be loving this.
I just love they used all the older movie music in the series. It really brought home they were wrapping it up. From TOS and the movies through TNG and Picards movies, all the way to the very end.
The Music score, the effects, the storyline, the nostalgia, the humour, the action, the plot - Disney (star wars)- Look and learn!!! this is a way to pay homage to both the original cast and credit the fans!! I can't stress enough how many times in this season I have both filled up with tears and at the same time jumped up in the air with pure enthusiasm. I can't fault it - Every episode has had me on the edge of my seat wanting more each week - No filler episodes. Also the sheer attention to detail - I definitely feel that everyone who worked on this season, did so with the shared love of TNG.
Heute lief die Staffel bei Tele5 und ich bin begeistert. Endlich StarTrek, wie es ein sollte. Die alten Haudegen und die bekannte Musik. Ich bin begeistert!!!!!!!
I remember sitting in the theater, watching the opening credits to First Contact, and hearing this theme for the first time. Talk about nostalgia! Thanks for the memories. 🖖✨️💖
Looking back the show runners laid down clues that should have tipped us off about who the antagonist would be and what ship our heroes would be using to fight them. The First Contact theme, Picard’s old Enterprise D com badge containing a coded message, using code that would have been unfamiliar to Locutus, and the Enterprise D itself was mentioned more than once to keep our minds trained on it. Of course one at a time the Enterprise crew was reunited, the clues were all there. My heart is filled with joy!
I liked probably half of what season 3 delivered story wise, but what was always the high point of each episode was that First-Contact-inspired outro music and the cool animations to go with it. Someone really poured a lot of labor & love into this!
Not watched any of Picard (dont have streaming) but im loving this credit sequence, the details on the visuals are outstanding adsed with the score it just makes it even better.
1:14 disappointed that this didn't happen. Would have been great to see Voyager and Defiant and Enterprise A (the flagships of the original Star Treks) helping out the fight!
Basically in the end credits is everything we have seen so far in the series. I hope we will see Voyager orbiting the fleet museum like in the end credit scene 😍😍😍
I went into Picard season 3 expecting so little. The previous seasons were at best meh and only had a few glimpses of star trek. But this felt like the star trek i remember so much more than anything else in the last 20 years. It’s hard letting go of the TNG/DS9/Voyager era and dealing with new star trek. But if this is where that generation and style of star trek ends I suppose it’s a good goodbye for it.
Best Star Trek in 30 years. Nothing after TNG/DS9/VOY was real Star Trek and stayed true to Roddenberry's vision. All these prequels and 'going backwards' series were trash. This was absolute perfection. More please.
It would be nice is Terry Matalis would do a proper send off for Enterprise. Many of us loved the crew and the ending was so bad. This was so very well done.
0:01 - 1:23 I think the "First Contact" theme firstly celebrates Federation space explorers whom have made contacts with thousands of alien species over the past 250 years, many of them are now Federation members or at least its allies. Secondly, it serves as a memorial for all fallen Starfleet officers who gave their lives in the line of duty for the service of the Federation. Sadly there were millions of them in the Federation conflict against the Borg and the Dominion. Probably there were hundreds of thousands officers who died during the event featured in "Picard" final two episodes, far more than 11.000 who perished during the Battle of Wolf 359.
I've been watching even unknowingly TNG since I was a child in the 90', from time to time growing up, and as adult I've set up with my gf to watch all of it. Then Picard came out, S1 and 2 where quite good, but this... this... is gonna be the perfect closure to the whole story. I'm loving it, I love all the ppl behind it, long live Cap. Shaw, I love TNG.
If they would’ve done this intro on season one, it would’ve been beneficial in keeping me hooked. For the last two seasons I literally skipped the intros and credits just because the music didn’t mean anything to me this, score however, absolutely does.
This is a truncated and edited version off the Star Trek First Contact Soundtrack, entitled “End Credits”. The Motion Picture/Next Generation theme was removed from the beginning. The bridge was cleaned up between the First Contact Main Theme and the TNG theme with a much stronger ending.
sure wish Gene could come back for just a moment or two. he would be ecstatic. there have been bumps along the way but his heritage is honored and enhanced so very faithfully for the most part.
Terry Matalas took Alex Kurtzman’s shit and turned it into gold! I hope he gets his own Star Trek series, preferably with the Titan-A crew. Captain Shaw is my favorite character in all of new trek.
Eugene Roddenberry or Rod Roddenberry is the son of Gene Roddenberry and Majel Barrett. It seems they brought him back on for this season of Picard and may have swerve the franchise back to what Star Trek used to be. Now, there are still eliments that sucks like The Borg as the main bad guy, but it would be fitting that the main bad guy who is behind the talking head that talked to Viduk is none other than Q himself. Q said the exact same things about Picard and the humans on Picard's ship.
Reiterating: They could have a new series (and other spin-off series) that follows up from ST: Picard that continues the franchise from the TNG through 25th century. Letting the events of ST:Picard be canon that sets us into the beginning of the next series in that era of the franchise involving the TNG---->Voyager Actors be guest stars with potential recurring roles for awhile. S3 certainly sets things up for this and yes, we can see a recurring role of Q as well with the venerable John de Lancie with CG version of his younger appearance and he can live act his older appearance. At least with the story involving Jack Crusher and that series can potentially include Wesley Crusher making an appearance or two or whatever as needed with story plots. Another series could be taken place in the 32nd century following the storyline from that time point with important continuity check in place so we don't have breaking continuity but elements of filling in details stories over time. Taking its course continuing from where Discovery ends taking the franchise branch forward as time goes on. I think Terry Matalas has done a great job with the cast in bringing back the charm of TNG and done an alright job (although the season probable should have been 16-20 episodes long but it's a production challenge with only 10 episodes allowed to work it)... but nonetheless, it was a finely done season given the difficulty but it certainly sets things up for future season which should strive to carry this recipe forward. Because it is a streamed series, it's okay through a few words like a few F-bombs (that can't be used on over the air television) and venture into a few subject matters appropriate for mature (late teen and up) and balance some of the deeper relationship issues and struggles that this series incorporated with some of the lighter heart elements and aspiration of ideals that was the hallmark of Star Trek and also venture in a future series getting into exploration missions as well. Sometimes there can be multi-season story arc elements which has been a part of star trek TNG and various spin-off series over the years but also in the future. Characters from DS9 and Voyager may also be a potential guest appearances. Maybe, there's a point to explore beyond the Milky Way. TNG been there once. Hi, maybe you should listen to the original, ua-cam.com/video/MM3QT57d26c/v-deo.html, then listen to mine again. When I first heard the end credits, I realized they had cut some great passages out of both themes, I added a few to both themes.

Absolutely!
Using the music from first contact was pure genius. Arguably the best score of any of the movies.

THE BEST! The best, highest point in Star Trek music is the "First Contact" track from that movie.
And it was a little hint of the final big bad all along. Just so well put together this season was.

Thank you for posting that. I found it very moving when I first saw the credits, and Annie’s name. I’m so glad that millions have seen it also.
She also had a major role in the first season of "Bosch." A true talent, gone too soon.
Remember, when you die, the cancer dies too. So she fought that cancer to a draw.

Jerry Goldsmith was a music legend in the world of cinema!
The three greats of their time:
Goldsmith
Horner
