Even 9/10 months on from watching this at The Theatre Royal, Drury Lane I still cannot get enough of this show. Cannot wait for it to be shown in cinemas in November.
Some people are actually singers, with a real voice, trained vocal technique and everything. Notice he did more singing than dancing, so I'm guessing he was hired as a singer who could also dance, whereas most of the others were dancers who could also sing. That you noticed his singing demonstrates the distinction.
that was a such a snoozer of a number, that I almost started snoring. if You find that amazing, watch this rehearsal, and see what Broadway can be capable of ua-cam.com/video/qcs09ZaskiM/v-deo.html, as opposed to the devastation and destruction between the 1980s aids crises (we lost so many in the community), and the horrible webber megamusicals dumbed down so much that was amazing, that we still have not truly recovered from this horrible period. Oh and by the way, Joseph, Superstar, and Evita do not fall into these low standards as the cats on down musicals, maybe it was lyricist Tim Rice who added that extra special story telling that cats, phantom, starlight, and a few other dreadful pieces that were missing
Did he sing that opening like that in performance? Good God. He has no personality, no clue of how to put over a song. Bland, like a cheese sandwich on white bread. Part needs to be played by a middle-aged man, who is actually male. This guy's supposed to be a touch director, and monster worker? Please. Gimme a break.
I just watched the pro shot full stage performance and I thought he was fantastic on stage. He is so much better on stage than he is here. He really nails the character and he was one of my favourite parts of the show. I loved his voice and just his presence on stage. I agree he’s not amazing here.
