@@cameronfield4617 you’re right! When I did this show it was in HS but our director was also a Broadway member who did this show. And we were required to do 1 year of tap and jazz training for this particular show, it was our senior show and our application show for college. So she went hard. As the opening number we ROCKED IT. But many of us had never done tap. Just jazz and basic dance classes. The first time I did this dance I realized how out of shape I was. lol I was 17 but I can gladly say it was my favor dance to date! And I’m 31 lol
@@jdrfqueen Agreed. I find this choreography to be suitable for students who started tap dancing as adults (after the age of 30) and have reached Intermediate level. That usually happens after 3 years of regular dance lessons. Some students will reach this level sooner and others will take forever. I was in the "Forever" group myself. I was born with two left feet. Ever since childhood, I've been very good at sports (gymnastics, swimming, running, skiing) but I suck at dancing. I just don't have the natural talent for dancing. One of my friends is a professional ballet dancer but she totally sucks at gymnastics. She can't do the stuff I was doing at age 7.
Its crazy how in this clip when they are saying the "1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8" part you can hear the British accent but on the actual performance it sounds more American English. The power of voice acting as well as incredible breath support cause phew
What on earth was going on with the camera there? You could get motion sickness watching this video. Not me, obviously, I'm hardcore. But other people. Sensitive types. Excuse me, gotta run.
Looks like it's a post-production steady cam effect (possibly Adobe's subspace warp?) It seems to be trying to keep faces in the same space as far as possible, then giving up after half a second.
Where can I find a tutorial on the last time step after the triple; wing time step. I keep finding different versions which is super frustrating. I need this version. Bueller?
It’s: spank hop shuffle step, falap spank ball change. :) as you falap with the opposite foot, bring your other foot out, then spank it back in and ball change. (Ex: you start on your right. Spank hop shuffle step, falap with your left foot and your right foot goes out to the side simultaneously, then spank it back in and ball change with your left!) I hope this helps!
…hmm. There’s at least one black girl in the cast here. Why didn’t she make it into the filmed version? Did someone decide to do a little whitewashing for the filmed version?
This is literally as hard as it looks
It's not too hard if you've danced a bit
True. Very, very true
Jo Mac not hard in learning but hard in stamina lol and if you have to redo it a millions times it’s exhausting

Yes Millieeeee!!!
42nd street is my favourite musical of all time and got me into tap dancing, it is such an amazing show!!!
Love it when the mirror starts to wave ❤❤ just like they twisted the space by tapping😂😂 it's so powerful and entertaining!
Sharp as hell. Those kids are spectacular.
flippin' eck! That moment at 0.26! My little old feet (and I mean really old) were twitching madly in my slippers....
Millie O'Connell is in the middle! She was Anne Boleyn in Six!
Oh my god I just spotted her that’s crazy she is soooo talented😱😱😱
Omg yes she is !!!
WOW. Just WOW! In some ways this is even more thrilling than watching the onstage performance, since it seems realer, closer. WOW. Just: WOW!

You are beautiful! It was nice to see your performance in London.
Are they dancing on a moving cruise ship ? I got motion sickness here
4 years later but it was most likely camera distortion

i thought the floor was lifting off
Is it a rehearsal room with a sprung floor?
I was very confused with the floor but if u look in the mirror the floor is fine
The camera is on a fixed point and the tapping is making it bounce, that’s all
My dance teacher is in this!!
Blonde one in blue front middle amazing presence. I loved her character
For the opener production at my studio were doing 42nd Street. It's so fun and challenging tho!
Brilliant..............seen the show twice now.
Pop off Millie talented lil bean

I'll say one thing, it tightened up a hell of a lot before it opened!
The floor:⤴️⤵️⤴️⤵️⤴️⤵️
