This was lovely! I do garden a bit but am very new. This Is my second year but I have tomatoes, lemons and pears, figs and a few herbs. Sage, basil, rosemary, thyme, mint and lemon balm. I also have flowers. I am looking to move out of the city so i can expand. I love this video the ending was so precious. As always, happy hugs to you and everyone here💕✨

This reminds me of how I grew up. We owned a small farm in Virginia. We had beautiful pastures, forests and brooks. We lived off of the land.
Our old, weathered clapboard house saw the happiest and saddest of times, which are all now the sweetest memories. I loved the wildlife, fruit trees, and flowers. The outdoors was my refuge. I wrote many poems, and songs there and practiced them on my guitar before proudly singing them to mom.
This summer, at my current home I planted peppers, tomatoes, sunflowers, and heather. They all did fabulously well.
And, my hummingbirds thrived this summer. I can’t be sure of the exact count, but we do have well over a dozen. I planted some perennials that attract hummingbirds and butterflies last year, so I believe that’s why we were so blessed.
Oh my goodness, the way Jonas pulled out Lindsay's chair for her and then held her hand whle going round to his seat! Be still my heart!

How lovely! What a joy to find this In the evening after a long hard day of cleaning up. I fall exhausted into the chair by the fireplace and turn on the big screen TV. Surprise! A harvest and tea party.
You are both so talented! The poem really expresses the feeling perfectly.
I had a 1920s farmhouse in Washington for 30 years. With acres of organic gardens. An eighth of an acre in vegetables and pumpkins. It was wonderful through out all the seasons. Most of what we ate was homegrown. We had several freezers downstairs and put up 20 pumpkin pies and zucchini breads. Nothing is better than a treat from the garden on the darkest, coldest day in January. We would remember summer and start to think of planting in the spring.
You really do live in the perfect place.

As I sit here andwatch I wonder to myself am an old soul just remembering such beauty as I watch you in garden A Beauty to behold there on the table fresh baked cookies and fresh tea made from its delicate herbs 🌿so wonderful to be taken back to such a calm and loving time seeing the flower hearing the birds getting in touch with nature as u walk barefoot its a such wonder and beauty for the eyes to behold a time past and time present may you enjoy every moment of Life have a wonderful Blessed Day .

I watched this video several times and sent it to a friend. I have no idea why, but it brought tears to my eyes. I loved every minute of it and the poetry as well. I wish I could have been there in such a garden enjoying the fruits and flowers of my own labor. What a lovely afternoon. Seems like Heaven.

People, especially city people, long for the simple life that country people live by necessity- previously the rich.. and city folk scoffed and laughed at us. We were called backwards and simple. Picking berries, making bread, kids coming in with dirty faces, etc. And now, here we are. At the end of the day, we all agree on what a person really needs for a rich life.
While watching one of your winter videos, you mentioned a fireplace. Well, may I recommend a heater that looks like a real old-fashioned one. Its sold on QVC on television. Comes in different colors. It can be paid off without interest. Hope this helps you keep warm next winter. Many blessings.

I really need a video on storage in the cottage. For as many seasonal decorations as you do where are they stored the rest of the year. This is something I struggle with in my home!

What a beautiful soothing, peaceful place you have. Oh yes your own homegrown vegetables have a super special, taste. Nothing like tomatoes fresh from the garden, still warm from the sun. Sweet peas taste just like candy. My 2 little nieces and I ate too many and got a scolding from my sister. Because they were for supper that night😊. Can't garden where I live now, people steal and kill your plants. So I don't even try anymore. Saving your video to enjoy over and over. Falling coming soon😉. With its crisp air, colorful leaves...and sweet crunchy apples. Best part of summer is all the fruits and veggies. This year sure flew by fast...ok by me...I love the cool air so much better.

Must share something funny this all reminded me of when watching. When My husband and I lied in the country on 2 acres * we now live in a brick home on a small country village near where we both grew up, and it is very quiet here and small and we do have water falls and back yard, * ut hen living there. we had a large garden. * No fence around it, and we had various things growing including Swiss Chard. I could not wait to eat the Swiss Chard. One day when looking outside we saw hoof prints! First I thought our neighbor's horses had gotten out and was in the garden, come to find out a dear had come that near our home and had eaten ALL the Swiss Chard! None was left for me! Well to my dismay, I finally resolved to the fact the deer was happy and full and I need to just realize it was over for me that year.
Then in the later afternoon that day my husband got busy putting up a fence up around it. * A wire fence* and he was busy most of the day and I was inside busy and could see him off and on. All at once when it was getting to be sunset, I looked out and my husband had closed the gate and had left. I looked again and a rabbit was running around and I wondered if it was inside or outside the fence. He was inside the fenced- in area of the garden and wanted to get out and was running around. I had to open up the gave to let him out. The rabbit must have watched my husband all day while he worked to lock up the garden and the rabbit enjoyed it probably thinking how he could eat the lettuce and have fun and never realized he would finally be locked in at night! lol That has always been a joke with us. I never forgot how hard he worked and yet a rabbit was watching him all the time inside the garden the whole time! Also, how I was just waitng to have the Swiss Chard and then the deer saw it had grown and decided to eat it first!
We love animals and do watch the birds, and hummingbirds and chipmunks etc. Now retired and have been married 53 years.

Morning, last year our Cherry tomatoes did well. Our big tomatoes not so good . Out of 6 plants we got afew tomatoes. String beans,maybe a hand full. This year we're putting more stuff in dirt. Finger crossed they do better plus moved stuff around.

We are slowly restoring our garden . We moved five miles up the river from our previous home of twenty one years.The house is called Gilfach ( Gil fark) meaning the 'cosy nook' here in mid Wales.
