I love rising early. I say my morning prayers and Scripture reading and journal. I see the morning star sometimes and the sunrise. It is so peaceful and beautiful. I have a couple cups of coffee. I relish the birds singing, crickets chirping, ...I think you will love rising early. I am reorienting myself as I am now retired. I have gone through much emotionally in the last year with having had covid, the loss of my brother and mother. I am so grateful I had them as gifts in my life. I love these tips for resetting. I really want to focus on social media consumption being more mindful and less frequent. Like you say, it’s so easy to pick up your phone and just scroll mindlessly. I’d rather use that mindless time to be more mindful and do productive things like reading, coloring, practicing piano, doing some tarot learning, etc.
Mornings are really nice. I really like getting up early to make breakfast and coffee for everyone. The house is so quiet before the Sun starts to rise. It's kind of peaceful.
I took a social media break on my last vacation and it was heavenly. One solid week offline and I felt my anxiety level decrease significantly.
That's wonderful you could do that! I'm finding that social media affects me more than I realize it's time to set some boundaries ✨
Such a lovely treat to find a new video from you. Thanks for so many tips to enhance our lives. On a camping holiday here on the Wild Atlantic Way, west coast of Ireland. Also replacing half of our social media time with reading. Finding this practice deeply calming and meaningful.

Yes, living in Sweden fulltime would be extremely difficult for my mental health so we shall see what the future holds ✨
Social media can be a big time killer. I have my favorite YT videos I watch and enjoy, but I don't do any other of the things like Tik Toc, Twitter, Instagram, etc. There are so many things out there to take our time it seems. I think the early morning is a great time of the day and it's a shame to miss it!! I get up early due to my work and seeing so much early: the beautiful sunrises, the birds, occasional wildlife, etc. You will enjoy it! It was so lovely that you got to spend a month away to visit family and friends. The Fika times sound wonderful!! Nice to hear about the ups and downs of your visit!! I know it's nice to be home again, because there is no place like home!!

I could feel the love Jonas has for his home country as he was gazing over the water rushing to shore. Tears welled up in my eyes because I know that feeling.
Rising early to get the day started was something natural to country folk. I was raised in the 60's and 70's so summers were spent rising early to work in the family garden or some other project that needed to be done for the family. I think today's youth have no understanding of this concept. There were no distractions from the necessary life chores that increased our health and happiness in achieving the day's goals. It makes me glad to hear that you will set boundaries with meaningless distractions. I prefer quality over quantity anyway so if I only see your videos twice a month it is wonderful treat to be savored! It is like finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow!

I am returning to reading more too. It makes me happy, as well. I always get up in the morning, and try to find the sunshine, having heard that is good. Spending time reading my Bible or listening on an app also fills my spirit.
I am recovering very slowly from covid, right now, so looking at your lovely video was nice.

I came on here, specifically to say, Jonah, I just went through a very similar travel mishap this summer!
I almost didn't get to visit my Grandma in Florida because I didn't realize that my Driver's License had been expired until the day before I was set to fly down! It wasn't until I was filling out the rental car booking information that I realized it. Luckily, my friend pointed out that I just barely had enough time to renew it if I went to the DMV right when they opened. Thankfully, they were right, I got a temporary license, rented my car the same day and was able to visit my Grandma in hospice. So don't feel bad about your mistake, we all make them!

Hi guys! I just wanted to say that I myself, get up early everyday. And I enjoy that first hour of quiet time for myself. I wake up at 4:30 each day. My husband & I share a car to get to work, so I need to get up early enough, to have the time to wake up and have my coffee/quiet time. And I also state outloud to myself, (well more of a whisper), what I'm grateful for. Gratitude is definetly key. And that hour I take, helps me with my mindset. Keeps me centered to myself. I have a very stressful job, so it definetly helps me get through my day. Thank you for sharing that 😊 Glad you are home and you're back! I bet Tibby is happy too...lol

I think I need to get back to a more Scandinavian menu...when our apples were ripe on the tree, I would get my little cool pack and have my cored apple and smoked salmon in there every work day. That and a Fika [for me that's half coffee half cream] would set me up for all day long. My guts were so happy back then. Thanks for reminding me! The frost got our apple blossoms this year, so maybe I'll substitute berries... I absolutely LOVE what you're sharing here with us! [but sorry to hear about the covid and the mouse poop when you got back home - we had a mouse living in our kitchen wall and stove that we don't use in the summer, and one day there was a BIG POP! and a little flaming lightening bolt shot out of the wall socket by our stove - and that was the end of mouse.]

Such a beautiful video ! Jonas s misadventure makes me think of my own. It has being two years since I didn t see my daughter and her 2 sons and was in the point to go and see them. I took the train to go to the airport and there was a suspect parcel in the airport. So the train couldn’t go there for 40 minutes...I also had a panic attack ! I thought I was going to faint...Fortunately the things got better and I could have my plane on time and have a very good time there...it is so emotional when you are waiting to see people you love, it was a very terrible thing for you. Fortunately you had a very good time, hoping you could be able to stay in Sweden more longer the next time. For now have a good time in your beautiful cottage together. A big hello from France !

Tack for more Sweden. I miss it so there and am aching to return. Many of my family are older and even two of my cousins with whom I was close have passed away in the last 3 years. I understand the joyful aspects of being there. And too, the bittersweet. And yes, it takes some adjusting returning home! So sorry to hear you had Covid. Ergh! And we too, enjoy many fikas with family and friends during our visits... and when we return home we pare down to one fika per day, with fresh fruit instead of something sugary sweet. Everyone in my family bakes.... so you MUST try this one! And that one! Fortunately, we hike a lot in the forest there. Welcome back to the states... take care and ease back in!

I'm so glad you had a wonderful trip, but selfishly I'm glad you are back home! I have been watching grandchildren all summer, and running to little league practices and games. School just started yesterday, now, school baseball, football and cross country for three of my four, and horseback events on weekends. My get back to normal will start in October. Just in time for holiday season!! I love chasing again, my kids grew up and I worked and chased, so now, I can enjoy it more!!

I just started to watch your channel and you guys are just the cutest couple I've ever seen. Can't wait to see more videos. I am really not a morning person but I have to be for work. But for doing it for so long I am just so use to it. I say to myself that on the weekends I am going to sleep in and that doesn't happen I am up at 630 but when I have to get up for work I don't want to get up lol.

Your videos are so relaxing to see. Your trip sounds relaxing and amazing with a bit heart of family time. Coming back home, I am so sorry what it brings back, but you guys are ok and safe. I have dealt with anxiety and depression myself...however music and being out in nature help me cope with the anxiety, and the depression, and connecting with my family and my close close friends, and lots of praying.... it does take time, for the healing, sending positive vibes your way for the both of you.

I love your videos so much, thank you both for all the work you do to make and share them. My family is from northern Sweden. Then some members moved to northern Norway, to Vadsø & Vardø mainly. 3 years ago I was going to see them (I’m from California), with my sister, we also had a month long trip planned with several flights and a cruise too. We had been dreaming and planning a long time.
10 hours before departure I opened my computer to check in and that’s when I saw it MY PASSPORT HAD EXPIRED. there are no words to describe the panic that ensued (oh wait, you probably do!) I had not checked. I thought I still had time. Fast forward, pack frantically hire a driver to take me to Los Angeles, rush race tears plead paperwork more tears apologies too (this was lol my fault) and finally with 3 hours and 5 minutes till flight time, a new passport was handed to me. More frantic racing from downtown LA to the airport. Oh Dear!! Such a nightmare! But alls well that ended well, I almost kissed my airplane seat and all the attendants lol.
Meant to write this was all my fault.
Oh my word!!! That sounds just about as stressful as our passport misadventure! Hope you had a nice time in your trip when all that was said and done!

I was so happy for your new video! I can relate to so many things you said. Coming back home felt claustrophobic to me. And weeds everywhere. Stunning footage of your trip. And I used to be a night owl but switched to getting up at 4:30-5am and its much better. By 10am I had a while day while ppl are getting up. Lindsey I liked your sandals that u wore on your trip! I used to have a pair but can’t find any I like like yours! I love everything Swedish :) I am sorry about the passport issue. I can understand the stress. What u guys did is crazy on the day you left!

It has been a drought I. Upstate NY and yes we b had 90 degree weather and above for a time. Glsd you are home and in time you will feel bettrer .
You have to say it was nice missing the major heat waves this summer but we could see how much it affected our garden and I can't imagine how hard that was for everyone this year🥵
@@itsacharminglife Very hard. I live to see.the flowers and al that summer brings, afternthe.long winters. I know i am not alone. The work that goes onto the gardens etc makes it hard. BUT that can be how it works sometimes. But somehow we do move on to the next scene the northeast will bring us. Hopefully this.fall will.bring colorful.leaves.

This was such a wonderful video - so many things you brought up that really hit home☺️ First of all, your trip looks just magical, and I’m so glad everything worked out with the passport and you were able to enjoy such a beautiful place with family☺️☺️ The adjustment back home always seems to be difficult at first but it sounds like y’all are getting back into the groove there.
I’m so glad you talked about social media, mental health, etc., because it can be so detrimental to creative people - because numbers never correlate with the value of the art - if that makes sense, and that can be very difficult for creatives. It's so true that it's so hard for creators who just want to create but have to figure a way how to sell whatever they craft and to not be crushed when the numbers don't match the creation as you said. I really enjoyed this video. Just like catching up with friends and enjoying the tails and wonderful clips from the trip. So beautiful! As far as slow living goes, I’ve now been retired for 3 weeks and I’m enjoying sitting on my deck in the morning and the nature sounds. It’s so relaxing.
