Hi Becky, I come from an Italian background, both my late parents were born in Italy and immigrated to Canada. For the 2nd pasta you are using it’s pronounced as “ oh-reck-ee-ET-tay “. In Italian the meaning is “ little ears “. Loved all your recipes.
I don’t think she minds learning to pronounce things. Been watching her for a few years and I’ve watched some viewers correct her lovingly. She accepts it. That’s what I love about her.
@@SSubz1 Becky asked if anyone knew if she was saying it wrong to please say aso in the comments. I love that there is such a variety of cultures etc in that someone will most likely know. 😊😊
It’s hard for many English speakers to remember that ch is a hard c (k sound) in Italian. I think it’s great that she knows she’s probably saying it wrong and asks for comments about pronunciation.
My italian family always cooked orecchiete with a gorgonzola and cream sauce with a little bit of butter and pepper, that's it...you just melt all togetjer and comes deliciuos! You can use roquefort or any bluecheese as well!
Been enjoying your videos and have gotten so many great tips from you! Here is a tip I would love to share with you, always wait for the water to come to a boil before adding your salt. If you add salt to the cold pot, the salt will go straight to the bottom of the pot or pan (sink( and eventually you will see 'spots' when washing out your pot from the salt sitting down there. When poured into the boiling water, it will automatically mix in and dissolve :)

I just happened to have a mostly full jar of capers, fresh lemons and parsley and no idea how to use it. Made the lemon caper pasta tonight alongside lemon herb chicken on the grill (rare 60 degree day here in PA) and it was SO GOOD! Next time I’m going to modify it by adding some white wine in as well and maybe sliced banana peppers from last years garden.

Yippee not running errands. I did the brown butter white fudge and browned butter rice krispies last night, made pound cake today, sending to daughter for birthday. Tonight we are having pizza pockets. We may have to widen doors for us. Lol. Thank you for being you
Hi Becky from England. Minds think alike even thousands of miles apart. I have spent most of today doing pasta, chili, and ragu sauce based meals to freeze. I did one just for my self because I honestly didn't think my hubby would eat it. He did and then proceeded to eat half of mine also. As well as the one I did for him. I used left over chicken shredded it with shredded crab sticks. The sauce was a mushroom base with peppers red onions shredded carrots and broccoli stems and oyster mushrooms I mixed it with a garlic and herb crème cheese. With mozzarella, monetery jack cheese. Cheddar and parmesan and crème fresh. Linguini pasta added and I loved it. I do love this channel. You make it welcoming and I want to try the things you make which is always a good sign. Thank You Becky you live a busy life but one that is rewarding.
Becky, thank you for sharing this with us! I did leave the following review :) Lol, its a long one, but thought I would share it over here! (I still have to watch the rest of the video!) "Becky at Homeacre Homestead did a video that had this as her first recipe. I was in town, so was able to get the high maintenance ingredients (I am 45 minutes from the nearest grocery store)like Heavy Cream and the Grape tomatoes. I did modify mine a little bit. I dont have any chicken stock on hand because I just dont have the room, so I end up having to make do with bouillon a lot of times. I have on hand for a lot of recipes that are tomato based the Knorr Tomato Bouillon, so I used that instead of the chicken broth. I made the whole pack of bacon, oopsie! So, I had a lot for the recipe… I ended up using 3 tbsp of tomato paste as well and 3 cups of the tomato bouillon. I also sauteed a medium to large onion in the bacon drippings to give it the extra flavour that I was missing from the better stock. I also goofed and added the heavy cream last. I tempered it because I was really worried that it would curdle. I think even though I goofed on a lot of the recipe. I was trying to remember the recipe via the video while I was cooking. It turned out absolutely fabulous! Today was Stranger Things Sunday where we try out strange things to us, and lol, would catch up on the show 😛 Thank you for sharing such a wonderful recipe, and letting Becky do a video on it. Without that video I would never have found your recipe, your website and a new meal to add to our monthly rotation! Have a wonderful rest of your day!"
I'm DROOLING, Becky! I have made all of these dishes over the years and it would be very difficult for me to rank them...I love them all. Thank you for this delightful, mouth watering ... and oh so satisfying ... video! I'm off now to make dinner. You guessed it...PASTA!!! 😋
Love the 1 pot part of these four pasta meals. Shows that cooking doesn't have to be super hard or messy for yummy dinners. Also makes me want to grow fresh herbs in the garden this year!

Love watching your videos. You often give me inspiration to cook more meals for myself, instead of cooking the old tired favorites. Thanks for getting me moving a bit more. Just a little tip about Italian, in case someone else hasn't already mentioned it: "cci" and "ci" words are pronounced with a "ch" sound (think cappuccino or Da Vinci), "cch" and "ch" words are pronounced with a "ck" sound (orecchiette, bruschetta, Pinocchio). Miss Becky I love watching you anytime you're on. I also watch your reruns over and over. The orcheti translates to little ears in Italian. Take care Becky and keep up the good work 👏

I envisage the lemon caper pasta accompanied by some Salmon...sometime real soon 😉 thank you for being so thorough with the recipe processes...I appreciate all the tips and insight!!!
If you add little water to the bacon it helps render the fat and when it cooks of the bacon browns very quickly. It works really well when making bacon bits, I cover the cut up bacon in water and it let it cook.
Hey Becky I love your recipes I’m really interested to try the 2nd one and 4th one I’ve got a quick tip for you for your fresh herbs. I use a small fork and pass them through the fork it takes all the leaves 🍃 off effortlessly without having to pull each one then I chop them . Happy cooking everyone 😊
Hi Becky, I am a new subscriber. I just tried the first recipe today! It was AMAZING!!! My friends came over tonight and her daughter ate three plates of pastas. They said I can open my own restaurant with this recipe! THANK YOU very much for sharing it!
There's a great cookbook out there, "While the Pasta Cooks", it's quick sauce recipes that can be made, while the pasta cooks. This reminds me so much of those delicious recipes. Thank you for the inspiration!
Orechiette means little ear in Italian because that's what they look like. It is pronounced or-reh-KEE-et-eh and is one of my favorite pastas to cook with because of the way it holds a creamy sauce like the one you made. Also, If you add chicken to the last dish with the lemon and capers, you'd have Chicken Piccata, a dish I believe I've seen you make before. All of these meals look delicious. ~ Lisa
Becky, I absolutely love your videos. I think I’ve watched everyone and I only found you last year. I’m wondering in the sauces that you make I’d love to see some recipes without so much cream and cheese some time.

The lemon caper sauce would be my favorite. It's good, simple Italian fare. Well done Becky. It's or-rec-key-et-tee. It means "small ear" in Italian and it's one of my favorite pastas.
The hubster hasn’t been able to eat onions since covid 😢 so we can’t try #1. We did eat #3 tonight and hubby said it was good. 🥳 Think we will try your lemon caper dish next! 😍
They all look great. i love pasta. Can't wait to try the first one when the garden starts producing. My daughter, who is a vegetarian, would love the number 4 recipe. Thank you for sharing
Becky never disappoints I have a standard pasta dish. Any pasta you like with broccoli garlic and crab meat, cook in pan with plenty of butter and olive oil but not drenched hehe add cooked pasta and squeeze plenty of fresh lemon juice over and serve. My children love this.Simple yet effective.

I'm working on my biscuit and pizza dough and am determined to make both rock for our household. 🥳❤️ My biscuits were a total flop, but my pizza has been pretty decent. I would love to learn how you get some crisp on the crust though?
Hello Becky. I just have been loving watching your videos. I’m a stay at home mama, and I’ve been saving some of your recipes. I made the carrot loaf recipe yesterday, so beyond yummy!!!! Thanks for sharing with all of us 😊
I am looking so forward to this video! I grew up with an Italian grandmother, and I love any pasta (macaroni, 😂) recipe! After hearing Josh’s ranking, I was really surprised. I found the bacon pasta to be the one that I want to try first. Now, I’m just going to have to try them all! 😂
Easy meal my mom uses to make, and I love it. which is sausage, carrots and potatoes throw it all in a roasting pan with some vatable oil and put it in the oven and let it cook until you think it's done. I love my moms dinner like this always look so forward to it coming home from school. smells so good.
Thanks for some recipes that doesn't have tomato sauce. My husband loves pasta but doesn't love tomatoes or any tomato sauce. I will have to try these. They all look yummy.
Becky, how can we make our own sun dried tomatoes? 😊 I roast my saladette/cherry tomatoes, usually with the addition of fresh herbs and garlic. Then I pop them in jars (if we don’t snack on all of them) cover them with oil and keep in the fridge or freezer. So yummy for pastas or even omelettes. I did dehydrate some using no oil. But, I also tend to not roast them completely and turn them into a pizza sauce using my ricer. For another variation, I freeze the saladettes whole, pop in some fresh basil and then vacuum seal them flat (so they’re stackable) and they are so handy, as in your first recipe. I’m always up for more ideas!
This is one of my favorite dishes as a child and my Noni would make them Al Mano ( by hand) in the spring. Orecchiette: Or-e-key-eta-e it means little ears . This dish hales from the Puglia ( G is silent) region of Italy, and traditionally is made with broccoli de rape which isn’t broccoli at all, or broccolini can be subbed. Both of this greens are hearty and stand up to heat better than broccoli. The next time you make it give this a try. Also I bet you would enjoy making them by hand and would take to it easily! Pasta Grannies on UA-cam😊 Tutti a tavola e mangiare!
Just so happens I have all the ingredients for the broccoli pasta! Was going to use the leftover broccoli in a quiche, but wasn’t really feeling it. Happy I watched as now I’m making pasta . I even pulled out some chicken bones from the freezer to make the chicken broth since I’m currently out and it Dan cook all afternoon on this rainy day. This weekends project is to make more broth. I cheat though and get rotisserie chickens from Costco. (Not enough room for meat chickens). I love that I get shredded chicken to freeze and broth from the carcass.
I love pasta dishes and all of these look amazing! I cannot wait to give them a try. I just signed on to your newsletter and cannot wait to more of your recipes. The ingredients seem pretty simple and manageable too. Thank you for sharing!
I forgot to state my vote! I ranked them 1, 3, 4, and 2 - but they were ALL so good for different reasons!

Miss Becky I love watching you anytime you're on. I also watch your reruns over and over. The orcheti translates to little ears in Italian. Take care Becky and keep up the good work 👏
I do too am a rerun binger😊
Oh my word! I tried watching other cooking videos but your videos Im actually learning from your videos because it's you love cooking. You cook fresh most of your ingredients...thank you so much
The caper one would be wonderful with bbq salmon on top
I envisage the lemon caper pasta accompanied by some Salmon...sometime real soon 😉 thank you for being so thorough with the recipe processes...I appreciate all the tips and insight!!!
If you add little water to the bacon it helps render the fat and when it cooks of the bacon browns very quickly. It works really well when making bacon bits, I cover the cut up bacon in water and it let it cook.
Each of these dishes looked simply elegant. Also, like your knife skills 😊
Perfect timing, I am thankful this came up to put me in a better mood!
I always fry a few pieces of bacon when I start soups too! I save a little of the bacon grease and scrape the pan. Such good flavor!
I'd love that too!
All 4 sounded absolutely delicious. Giving them a try. I think the sundried tomato one would be a #1 here.
You are a talented gourmet chef with the best taste faces ❤
The Sun dried tomato pasta looks delicious, would make a great cold pasta dish.
I had fried capers in a salad. It was wonderful

Thank you Josh for the taste testing of these pasta dishes! It's always nice to have a gentleman's opinion on the different dishes. Blessings to your wonderful family!
Thank you Becky! I needed this! I’m struggling so hard with meal planning burnout. Can’t wait to try these!
I also make the pasta with capers, oil and butter but I add peas and shrimp to mine. It’s so good!
Hi Becky, You can just tear the basil up instead of chopping and it won't brown as bad :)
The lemon caper sauce would be my favorite. It's good, simple Italian fare. Well done Becky. It's or-rec-key-et-tee. It means "small ear" in Italian and it's one of my favorite pastas.
Perfect timing! Was looking in my pantry last night and I have a good variety of pasta on hand! Thank you, Becky!
You are so welcome!
Totally a favourite video. All of these recipes are exactly my family's type of dinner xx
The hubster hasn’t been able to eat onions since covid 😢 so we can’t try #1. We did eat #3 tonight and hubby said it was good. 🥳 Think we will try your lemon caper dish next! 😍
I make a similar dish to the last one, but add chopped asparagus, sautéed onion, and shrimp to it.
Becky I feel we have become friends. Your videos are always informative. I am 64. You have made me love cooking and best part is..I don't stress over it. Keep the videos coming. We all love you Becky.
Becky, I can't wait to try these. They look amazing and budget friendly! Thank you.
So great to hear Josh! I always loved his reviews. I love that he joined but you still respect his privacy. Can’t wait to try these recipes!
I made the Marry me chicken this evening. It was absolutely delicious. I will be adding this recipe to my file. I think mushrooms would be a nice addition as well. Thanks Becky.
What a fun day in the kitchen! I just told my fiance last night, "Becky inspires me;" and this video did not disappoint! Thanks for being my inspiration! I'm working on my biscuit and pizza dough and am determined to make both rock for our household. 🥳❤️ My biscuits were a total flop, but my pizza has been pretty decent. I would love to learn how you get some crisp on the crust though?
Made the sausage /broccoli…… but used Asparagus and it was AMAZING! Thank you! 😊
They all looked delicious.
I miss seeing Josh and you doing taste tests together and rating the meals you make
Hello Becky.
Hope you like it!
Love the way you explain And teach
All the recipes sound delicious. Yum! 😊 Thanks for some great recipes even when cooking for one.
Glad you like them!
There is nothing more fun than seeing the delight in your eyes when you taste your recipes! Love it
Just so happens I have all the ingredients for the broccoli pasta!
All of these look absolutely delicious! I will try them soon! Yum!
