I think it is a great part of history that a lot of people never would have known if not for this video and others of its calibur. I think it to be a very good thing.

What an interesting story...and how hard it was to come by! Such a shame Mr. Mason never kept the patent and never made his fortune for such an important discovery!💖

Yes, its a shame. And with so many question marks and gaps in the story, its hard to get a good idea of what kind of a guy he was, and what kind of life he had.

Awesome research as always! Thanks for taking the time to look into the history of the jars and the people who made them, and for sharing it with us all.

Nice work, Brandy. Sorting through all those names must have been like untangling a ball of string lol

It was hard enough just to try to stay with the correct john, then his life details are all screwy, which makes for a confusing story, and thats why no one has a good solid story for him.

John certainly wasn't firing on all four cylinder's when he allowed his invention of such great importance to the canning world to go to waste by not renewing his patent. He knew the importance of getting a patent to begin with. Why wouldn't he renew it? And not one of his 13 children were interested in his invention or invention's. Thanks Brandy

This is a very odd story. I wish we knew the reasons behind some of these details.

I am a direct descendant of this man. Our family still carries the Mason name. This was our only shot at generational wealth 😂
