I had a DAW downloaded for months here but I never had the courage to start from 0, this video made me want to atleast play with it and see if I can get something going, thanks :))
Your tutorials are so easy to follow, I really like how you also show off how it sounds when you do things wrong :) Got any tips on how to best do Barber Beats?
hi, I am new to producing so having never used Fl studio I can't understand why when I change the bpm it doesn't change either the tempo or the pitch. Could you please explain it to me? Anyway ve tutorial, very helpful!
First you have to lock the audio track to the bpm. You drag the audio track to stretch it, let it go, then drag the audio track back to its original place. From there you can change the bpm and the audio track will change with the bpm. You can see me do it at 3:44
This is really good, but I’m wondering how you achieve the sound in track that plays at the start video? It has that slushy morphing or sweeping sound that Telepath uses a lot in his tracks, and it seems to be lacking from the track you made, which sounds more clean than that first track
The actual effect Telepath uses is called Barberpole Phaser or flanger. I don't have that plugin, most people don't unless you pay for it or make it from scratch. I tried to give easy alternatives to that sound. Maybe you can turn the treble down on the eq and turn up the bass frequencies. Hope that helps
Why does the audio peak on FL Studio but in actuality it's not even that loud, because when I send the wav file to my phone it is significantly more quiet than everything else
Sometimes peaking isn't noticeable. Peaking and clipping are different, when audio is clipping it sounds distorted or fuzzy. It also dependa on the sound that's peaking. Maybe turn the channel volume down and the master volume up or the other way, master down, channel up. Hard to say without actually looking at it
@@nightpassage310 Thanks I spent like 3 hours mixing and finally got it right, do you got somewhere I can send it to like an email cause i wanna hear a third party's point of view
It depends on how strong the drums are in the sample. Sometimes the drums are strong and don't need another drum track added. But sometimes, lowering the pitch can weaken the drums. In that case, you need to add another drum track on top. I hope that helps.
@@ronaldc8634 It's bothers me too that I can't find that Telepath song either. I'm still looking for it. I do like DDS but not that much. Their music has too much sample chopping and stuttering.
It's actually very simple. I have another tutorial coming out soon on how to make Signalwave with only Audacity, so stay tuned for that. btw FL Studio demo is free
Any idea how slushwave artists make the songs so long? I know at that point it's each artists approach but it can't be just a small sample looped over, right?
Usually you would take a longer sample. Instead of using a 15 second sample of a song you could use a 1 minute sample of a song and stretch it out using the same technique. This is pretty much what T e l e p a t h does.
@@nightpassage310 Telepath has different ways of stretching the song, all are about loops. Sometimes he loops a sample for like 3 minutes, then moves onto another sample for another 3-4 minutes. This is what he did in those 32 minute tracks. Sometimes he loops a 7-8minute of a sample for about 55minutes (the second track from 向かい合って). Just find a good and catchy sample, loop it over and over and it still sounds great, then add the effects you added in this video, voila, slushwave
Oh man I remember making that first Telephoenix Corp track - I think we looped a 3 second sample over and over and over
haha yeah. That's what it's all about man. It's a good track
Oh my gosh it's you! You're absolutely my favorite wave genre artist of all time. Big love and warmest wishes to you

Great to see you help out people who want to make slushwave, it's a great subgenre
Thanks. I agree.
Slushwave is such a good genre. Happy to see tutorials like these out there!
I heard the term slushwave last night in a random video for the first time, I'm finding myself increasingly intrigued by the genre.
how are you enjoying the trip so far?
I'm trying to branch out and make stuff in genres I don't normally make. Been checking out dreampunk and other genres under the vapor umbrella.

0:55 name?
When you started with the Bobby Brown sample, how did you already have it beat-matched/on tempo? Usually I have to do that in Sony Acid first.
Whenever I try to stretch the sample it doesn't stretch, it just changes tempo and the sample is the same.
@@namelessxdread Make sure to select the stretch option on the top left corner of the playlist window.
you said ask about other underground genres! How do you make post-internet music like Holograms by 骷 (Skeleton)
At the start when trying to match the bpm, can you also just use the option “detect tempo”? Or isn’t that as accurate?
I just tried it on a few different songs and it seems like it's pretty accurate. You just have to make sure to line up the down beats with the grid.

Do I have to put derums or do I do it like this without derums?
