Without any doubt , the videos that you and Tim put out are very educational, not to mention , that as tactical bass family we learn more with the products out there then any other channel ! I’m safe to say that we listen to what’s you are telling us , and with that , Thank You !
I can't tell you how many times I go back and watch your old videos. As fishermen, we're always trying to find new and better things. When we fing something new that works well, it tends to make us forget about other things that we have learned in the past that worked well also but we strayed away from. So to counteract that, I try to go back in time by reading old articles in magazines, looking through some of my old guide logs, and by watching your old videos. Thanks for all you guys do.
You guys are doing everything right. So informative like I know Billiards. Breaking it down the the foundation on up to Professional level. I watched years of fishing on TV and Never learned as much. All those pros are are talking vague like crazy. "I love a squarbill in summer" proceeds to kill it on TV. Doesn't say anything about color, Depth, speed, sizes, action, Is in near rocks or trees, time of day etc. You guys kill it. Best channel out here. Y'all deserve UA-cam as a retirement. Get that 1million subscribers.
Im really glad you went the extra step in saying WHY Not to use lighter braid. I had actually considered going on a 40-50lb braid when setting up my swimbait setup.
Love this channel I’ve been watching since I was in 7th grade and knew nothing now I’m about to be in 10th grade and feel comfortable with my skills and knowledge thanks to Matt and Tim
Bought my first Bull Shad last week due to these guys. I saw the video with you. Hope I can figure it out. Swimbaits are my favorite baits to fish. Is it possible to ask you for tips strait from the Man! Thanks
For those of us in the Midwest getting pounded with snow stay strong and prepare your gear. Clean your reels, test your knots, and sharpen those hooks it will be over soon and when ice out happens stick a monster
Hey Matt, Awesome video! Exactly what I wanted to know, right when I needed to know it! Another example of why Tactical Bassin is the go to UA-cam channel for the dedicated fisherman! Thank you!
Great job, just what I was needing to hear. I have been thinking about using big baits but where I fish there is a lot of under water structures I can’t see from the bank. Thank you and keep up the great videos!
So happy about this post! This current year I have been sticking to throwing my big swimbaits much more, I live down here in SD Cali, so with spring rolling around it just gets me more and more excited to get out on the water each and everytime! I know you guys enjoy throwing the big baits, so I would love to see some more vids! Maybe even an updated underwater footage vid with only swimbaits!!!
Matt Allen!! My dude, you guys are AWESOME! Don’t worry about the clowns and cheerleaders.. Y’all have helped me fine tune my gear and approach, and I have becomes way better angle because of the dedication you’ll put forth in your videos. Keep doing y’all, keep tacticalBassin 👍🏼
Brother that tip on the trash fatty was sweet I'm already cracking them here in CT 45 degree water just a slow roll creep and they are smashing it right on the bottom straight money thanks for spreading the love
👏👏I'm completely speechless,I don't even know how to comment, and this information is free🤔,Matt and Tim thank you for turning on the firehose one more time 👊👊🍺🍻👍🏆🏆
The video I’ve been waiting for! Just caught my new PB on a Tokyo Rig and now I want to top that with a big swimbait. I’ve been throwing some for about a month with no bites. Your tips always help me, so I’m excited about this video, thanks!
I love the long in depth videos! Great information throughout. Now I just gotta get time to get out there and take my new swim baits and rods/reels out for a test drive.
I just caught an 8 pounder (my PB) a week ago on the 168 S-waver thanks to you guys! I had no faith in swim baits until you guys showed me how to use them 👍
If you are using braid to the shock leader, how long of a leader are you using? That is one thing I have never heard Matt talk about. I am considering using this for my softbait rod as well as for my “heavier baits” for me that is anything that is over 3.5 oz only because I can’t handle throwing much bigger stuff with a messed up shoulder.
Excellent video Matt. I’m pretty much Swimbait 24/7 so I love when you come w a vid on the big stuff. I gotta tell you that you sir have been the main dude I think about when I think of my line system. I’ve been almost an 100% braid/leader guy since I made the full time commitment to big baits 8 yrs ago. You are the only bonafide big bait stud that’s had my back so to speak if I’ve ever questioned that system. You can run down the list of the high profile big bait guys that are serious sticks and I haven’t heard any of them touting braid/leader the way you have. Not to mention you’ve been doing it since way back. Even though I was committed to that line combo and I was gonna do it regardless, it’s nice to know that at least one legit dude has the same philosophy as me. So thank you for that.
Caught my first muskie fishing a 7" trout glider last Saturday. Chartreuse, and white, with pearl white stripes down the side. Crazy vibrant colors, at muddy spillway. I'll have to start throwing it in pond too. I usually try realistic patterns this early, and fail pretty miserably. Thanks for dropping so much swimbait knowledge!
I got an s-waver 168 for my birthday last year but was never confident enough to throw it all that much. after watching all your videos and realizing i had one of your favorites i went out last night and got smashed by a huge, beautifully patterned smallmouth. Thanks!
westley87 I had a hard time locating a shop that sold the Pulse Tail but finally have one coming in the mail. Really cheap compared to other similar baits of the same style. Stoked to see it get engulfed 🙏🏽
Awesome video. When you were talking about fishing the s waver all over the country it made me think that you guys should really come to Minnesota some time and target smallmouth like you do in Michigan. We have some of the best smallie fishing in the world on mille lacs, the upper Mississippi, rainy lake, vermilion and countless other body’s of water. Just watch the bass master angler of the year tournament from a few years ago on mille lacs and you will have an idea of what I’m talking about. Hope you guys can get out here at some point, keep up the great videos.
Yet again, another fantastic video. Thanks alot Matt, great advice. I feel you may have let some secrets out in that one lol. Your generosity of knowledge is greatly appreciated. You Da Man!!
Matt Have ya tried a fly leader straightener? Silly name, but a couple pieces of leather ya run your leader through. The heat generated takes a curled up leader and straightens it right out. Might save some time over re-tying. Great channel man, learned a ton from you guys!
Y'all probably don't delete videos but in case, please dont delete these videos. I'm going to save this video and others in my playlist and watch it when I need it.
Hey, really love your guys's videos. Literally watch everyone 2-3 times. Just thought I would suggest some videos that I would like to see done. Maybe you have done these before and I haven't seen them, but either way, a refresher would be nice. The first one I would like to see is a video that goes in depth on spring fishing and what to look for as far as structures points etc, along with the baits to have rigged up, and everything else related. Another video that I would like to see and I am sure a few others could use is a rundown on how to read and use your fish finders as well as comparisons and other things involving. Like I said, really loving the content. Thanks!
Enjoyed every minute of this presentation. I will use the hyperlinks from now on when shopping for something you recommend. I learned a lot today. Thank you.
I’m sure you guys have heard of it but have you tried the savage gear line thru trouts. The 6 and 8 in crush big bass here in florida. They will not disappoint. In my experience they outfish huds 5 to 1, I recommend the baby bass color. Plus since the hook deploys you won’t throw as many fish and they last forever, I have one that’s got almost 70 bass over 5lbs on it and still kicking. (Ps if you live in Florida tarpon seem so have a taste for them too)
That FC100 is phenomenal I use it on my swimjigs in Florida and my hook up rate has gone up 2X due to the little amount of stretch from braid to leader.
I just got your swim bait heads in the mail, they look great!! I now have a dedicated swimbait box! Would love to add one of those multi jointed shad baits
You guys gotta try the new Savage Gear Pulse Tail Trout. It’s a new wedge tail swimbait but still has their awesome paint and line-through system. Way cheaper than a Hudd, too.
I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR YOUR FINESSE JIG VIDEO.I switched from 1/2 oz. jig to 3/8 oz today because i thought fish wanted a slower fall and man did they,I broke my PB WITH A 7 1/2 LBS LARGE MOUTH .thank you
YOO Allen & Tim! I'm very excited for this year of fishing. Where I live at in the Central-Northeast America, I really struggled catching fish when it cold and raining in the early spring. Do you guys have any great ideas how the weathers or barometric pressure effect the fish and how to catch them in this early spring?? Please make this as your next video as I requested. Thank You!
Nice job...again. Have you tried the new Sufix Advance for your leader to braid? I think you’ll like it. Abrasion resistance, low stretch and mid density.
Could you guys do a video on the bullshooter line by Deps ? The original ,the 160, and the jr. it would be great I’ve been fishing with swimbaits only since last year n we don’t have trout unless it’s stocked bigger lakes have shad and I’m killing it with the bullshad even though almost all the water around me is low vis but a lot of lakes don’t have shad you know ponds but every where has blue gill so I bought the 160 and the jr it’d be great to have these baits explained by you guys
Just picked up a Hinkle shad, any advice? What type of hooks/ split rings or setup? Keep up the great work bud. Love all the tips and advice. Thight lines 🤙🏻
The Stock hooks should be fine, but I like to put on 2 or 3X Owners in 2/0 with a #5 or 6 Owner Hyper-Wire split rings to give a lil more weight to help it sink and keep it down. However if you're trying to keep it higher up with a SS to suspend... I'd stay with the stock or opt for a regular 2/0. Hope this helps.
Wish you talked about wake baits too. There are people who catch more big fish in late winter and spring on wake baits than other swimbaits. My biggest prespawn swimbait bass came on february, on a 7" MS Slammer. It seems wakebaits can be deadly at night too, this time of the year.
I went to a new pond style lake yesterday and put on a serious clinic I mean just slayed em with a 4.8 and 3.8 kietech. Probably caught 40 fish in about 2 hours. Went to move spots and saw a big no fishing bird sanctuary sign. Crazy how you catch em even mid summer mid day in a lake that has never really been fished
I think.he said in a previous video (perhaps the leader tie one) about the length of your arm span finger to finger. He ties a blood knot line to line without anything else. He mentioned it in the video at 30:50 mark.
I use straight 65 pound braid no leader for all my swimbaits in clear water always never seemed to make a difference to the fish never broke off anything the 8 inch and 6.75 inch 3:16 rising sun are very good swimbaits as well
This video is PHENOMINAL. Truly one of your best ever!
Thanks man!
You guys need to do a collaboration video..
-AnTLeY- I second this
How do you guys not have 1 mil sub. Most informative and details more than wired2fish... Love the vids man.
There getting there lol more and more the secret is getting out 😂🤣

Never caught bass in the snow?
Hey Matt,
Awesome video! Exactly what I wanted to know, right when I needed to know it! Another example of why Tactical Bassin is the go to UA-cam channel for the dedicated fisherman! Thank you!
I love this channel. It has helped me gain so much knowledge about fishing it’s awesome. I appreciate this channel so much. 🤙🏼
I am literally on my way to Clear Lake right now! Perfect timing on the video drop Matt.
Great job, just what I was needing to hear. I have been thinking about using big baits but where I fish there is a lot of under water structures I can’t see from the bank. Thank you and keep up the great videos!
HUDDLESTON BLUEGILL FOR THE PONDS! WE WANT TO SEE IT!
Yes sir
Me 2
my dad caught 3 bass over 5 pounds last saturday.... Big swimbaits work! Luckily I got them all on video.
I was fishing this week last year at lake Altoona I really like it down there especially since this is our first week out of the low 30s lol
@@Indiancreekgunsmithing Allatoona is a great lake for spotted bass but it's pretty hard to catch big largemouths there.
37 minute swimbait video... now this is why tacticalbassin is the best fishing channel on the internet.

This explains why my Arigs would snap on backlash, when I go straight braid. This explains aot!!! Thank you!
I’ve been watching these videos on big swimbaits caught my pb 9.3 on on about a week ago
Awesome video!! 37 minutes of swimbaits ... outstanding! Great content Matt
The best bass tips on the line! I caught both of my pbs smallies and largie thanks to you guys. Thank you!
Matt Allen swimbait head stuck a few for me in north Carolina yesterday. Just got them 2 days ago and I'm already in love
Thanks so much for the in-depth video. I really enjoyed the breakdown from the baits, all the way to the to the leader explanation. Awesome!
Thank you Matt!!! love the in-depth vids... Keep them coming!

Diggy I cracked up when he said that too 😂
Diggy
I was going to “Reply” that very line...That’s hilarious! 😁
I love the long in depth videos! Great information throughout. Now I just gotta get time to get out there and take my new swim baits and rods/reels out for a test drive.
Damn Matt I learned some much in 37 mins, I can’t thank you enough!! Keep up the great videos!
I just caught an 8 pounder (my PB) a week ago on the 168 S-waver thanks to you guys! I had no faith in swim baits until you guys showed me how to use them 👍

you guys need to check out the new savage gear pulse tail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think your gonna love it!!!! especially the $$ and line through aspects.
westley87 I had a hard time locating a shop that sold the Pulse Tail but finally have one coming in the mail. Really cheap compared to other similar baits of the same style. Stoked to see it get engulfed 🙏🏽

@@tacticalbassin Haha yeah for some reason I missed that one. Thanks!
“ it catches irregular fish “ love it!!!!
I always like how Matt powers those fish to the boat.
Enjoyed every minute of this presentation. I will use the hyperlinks from now on when shopping for something you recommend. I learned a lot today. Thank you.
Can you make an under spin in the Matt Allen swimbait head please
I’m sure you guys have heard of it but have you tried the savage gear line thru trouts. The 6 and 8 in crush big bass here in florida. They will not disappoint. This video will forever have a special spot in my heart 🤘 time to catch some TANKS🔥
I’m following along when are you going to have a meet up at Lake Gunnersville?
Also, have you guys tried the defiant 232 and 210 yet? There’s a lot of fuss over them right now. Some say it is the new baitsmith mag.
Truly enjoy the info in your videos. I've leaned a ton.
Dude great video. One of the best channels going. Great advice bud thanks.
Loved and Lol’d at the sound effects you added Matt 😆 a great, exceptionally informative video
You guys keep raising the bar with your vids. Awesome stuff.
Hey Matt! If you are ever in Missouri look me up brother! Love to hit the water with you or Tim.
What part of MO? That’s my home also.
You guys gotta try the new Savage Gear Pulse Tail Trout. It’s a new wedge tail swimbait but still has their awesome paint and line-through system. Way cheaper than a Hudd, too.
Thanks for the tips on what baits to use
I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR YOUR FINESSE JIG VIDEO.I switched from 1/2 oz. jig to 3/8 oz today because i thought fish wanted a slower fall and man did they,I broke my PB WITH A 7 1/2 LBS LARGE MOUTH .thank you
What water temperature do you typically start using the s waver. Ps this kinda urgent going fishing with someone tomorrow. To day is March 22nd
Thanks Matt on braid to mono tip, I will try it, I lost so many baits already on braid to floro🤬
Would love to see some pike catches on those swimbaits im sure you've came across a few in the northern states hunting bass
I do with muskies and they destroy my soft plastics haha
YOO Allen & Tim! I'm very excited for this year of fishing. Where I live at in the Central-Northeast America, I really struggled catching fish when it cold and raining in the early spring. Do you guys have any great ideas how the weathers or barometric pressure effect the fish and how to catch them in this early spring?? Please make this as your next video as I requested. Thank You!
You're videos are always very informative and in depth. Thanks and keep up the 🔥 content!
Thanks Matt. I will get into swimbaits this spring ASAP. (Boat back in shop). I use Yo-zuri.
was waiting for this video since you mentioned it a few videos ago lol 👊👍
Been catching them last couple days on the s waver. Bass and pike
Nice job...again. Have you tried the new Sufix Advance for your leader to braid? I think you’ll like it. Abrasion resistance, low stretch and mid density.
Can you guys do a review or spend some time with the Working Class Zero swimbait and share your thoughts? Thanks!
Could you guys do a video on the bullshooter line by Deps ? Dude, I’d love to see the video of you and Mike Bucca fishing the Bull Shad. Post the link if you’ve got it!!!
great information Matt! keep putting out high quality content you and Tim are doing fantastic job!
Lots of good info brother. Got a good laugh out of the "Spectacular Backlash" comment lol.
Wish you talked about wake baits too. There are people who catch more big fish in late winter and spring on wake baits than other swimbaits. My biggest prespawn swimbait bass came on february, on a 7" MS Slammer. It seems wakebaits can be deadly at night too, this time of the year.
Agree 100 percent boot baits for sure.thanks for the tips
Crushing the content, nice work Matt/Tim! 💥💥💥
You guys need to come fish sturgeon Bay WI for prespawn smallies! Would love to see a video!
We've done it a few times in the last couple years... and will probably do it again 😉
I must’ve not seen the videos. Cant wait!!!
Have you guys ever heard of IROD? they make great rods and amazing swimbait rods. I recommend a baileys swim rod GEN 2
The fc100 looks amazing, what length leader do i use with 50-65lb braid and what knot to tie an eggsnap on the end?
I think.he said in a previous video (perhaps the leader tie one) about the length of your arm span finger to finger. He ties a blood knot line to line without anything else. He mentioned it in the video at 30:50 mark.
I use straight 65 pound braid no leader for all my swimbaits in clear water always never seemed to make a difference to the fish never broke off anything the 8 inch and 6.75 inch 3:16 rising sun are very good swimbaits as well
How in the world would someone give this video a thumbs down.
Great video,
I dont use braid to leader for big baits anymore because i had a few connection slips before
Did you tie with the blood knot like he does? 9 loops rather than 6?
Nope, but seen the tutorial video of it. Thinking of trying it but haven't got the time yet
