While melanoma only accounts for a small percentage of skin cancers, it is also the deadliest form. Doctor’s suggest you use the ABCDE rule to identify the warning signs of melanoma. When it’s caught early, it’s highly treatable, with a 99% cure rate.

I'm almost 57. Red hair, blue eyes, light skin, I get sunburn easy. Yesterday I got a 22 stitch chunk cut out of my arm after a biopsy showed melanoma from the first chunk from my arm. I told the dermatoligist about it 5 or 6 years ago and was told it was nothing. It's shape and color changed and I could feel a bump, I went back and the new guy took one look and said that's coming off today. A month and a half later I have this huge hole in my arm. I'm thinking if he didn't get it all with this I'm a dead man walking. Enjoy life while you can, tomorrow isn't guaranteed.
Sorry about ur outcome...I started getting spots 2 weeks ago..I'll soon find out
You should sue that first doctor, i know it wont solve anything but if he is practicing, it could save other people that he examines

I had melanoma back in 1969 and I’m still clear! Wasn’t in any lymph nodes or anywhere else. We got it early and I’m very lucky! If you have red hair and blue eyes PLEASE wear sunscreen and take precautions 💜💜💜

I saw a new mole on my thigh that grew rapidly. Made an appointment and it was an A1. It was excised. My CC derm Dr initially said it didn't seem concerning. Glad I told her that to me it was. Know your body and advocate for yourself.

for those of you panicking, JUST SEE A DERMATOLOGIST. Its good to check for warning signs yourself, but once you've spotted something concerning hand it off to the professionals. There are many stages that must transpire before a healthy mole can become a melanoma, and this process can take years, often so many that you'll die of something else long before you get it. Most atypical moles are just mutated, but not cancerous, get it checked, if its a cause for concern, you can easily get it removed long before it has a chance to become cancer.
I have a chance to catch it early, but the next available appointment for ANY dermatologist will be so far away that it won't be early anymore. I've seen 2 doctors and a dermatologist already. They don't know what it is on my skin.

I knew a woman who tanned religiously in a bed had cancer removed at least once. She died she 59
I also knew a woman who owned a sunbed ,she told me she had spent 3 hours one day on the bed ,I was shocked to say the least, 5 years later she died of cancer ,she was 46 .

Cute heart shaped, not symmetrical, no smooth edges, 2colors, started to grow around february this year, tiny spot appeared out of the blue in 2010, growing now slowly in cute heart shape on my right breast

I have a hairy birthmark, I’m not afraid to admit it. I’ve had it since birth and it grows. I see colors in it such as a bruise color and brown color. I’m going to the dermatologist soon since it’s my first time going since everyone in my family brushed off my birthmark. I’m going with my grandparents and if it is skin cancer, I will update either way. I am deathly afraid of surgery. I’m trying to research the best other ways to solve my problem, please, reply if you have any suggestions to cure it without surgery.

Don't do it, its super dangerous, if your mole that you cut off is by any chance cancerous, you might not cut out all the cancerous tissue and it can spread, creating bigger problems for you. Just go to a doctor please if you are unsure.
