Absolutely amazing! One of the best uses of the layering technique in watercolors that I have ever seen. Truly, and utterly, fantastic!

I like how much control he has over the watercolor, yet it's loose and spontaneous at the same time. Amazing!

super control, the way you let those colors dry then blended as the darker areas, Your art hits Boss levels man..

i have been teaching paintings. while i was painting, i explained to my students about how to draw. including that a few minutes, i spent about 20minutes. and i didn't spend particular time to dry. if you control the amount of water, you can finish your painting at once without any break.

I'm happy that you like my picture. About your question...
You like watercolors, aren't you? There are many kinds of paper for watercolors. It doesn't matter which paper you use. It's better to adjust the paper you chose.

I use 100% cotton rag paper 300 or 600 gsm (140 or 300 lbs). Fabriano Artistico and Saunders Waterford are great and affordable if you can find them, but anything "100% cotton" will be miles better than normal paper.
Watercolor papers have three kinds of surface: Hot Pressed (very smooth, dries fast, I do not recommend it for training), Cold Pressed (mild roughness, my favorite) and Rough (great for some textured effects, not so great for detailing).

Garfyspy, i would recommend a 140 lb pound press paper. cold or hot press depending on if you want smooth or textured paper. if price is not an issue, arches makes fantastic 100% cotton paper. it comes in blocks, tablets, and individual shetets for larger sizes. you can really work it. canson is good also. try not
