      Of course, you can create comics with any tool you like! There are still plenty of artists who draw on paper and that’s a good thing because it brings more diversity to the art styles.

    I like this kind of art in comics. There is something about inks, paints and water on paper that digital colouring just cannot replicate. One can gaze at this art for hours, taking in all the details and work that was put in.

      +Tyler Blake I try to switch between both and it's still good to see artists who do it on paper but for me, i'm more comfortable with doing it on a computer (i do still draw an equal amount of paper) but i guess it's rather preference of people and it's not a bad thing that people choose to do items on a computer - Art is a large and versatile field, whatever you do - there is no right and wrong, just the different ways that people choose to do things

    • @pacificfirebrush
      @pacificfirebrush 8 років тому +1

      +InMyDreams I agree with you, digital has it's place but I've heard/read people saying they only use photoshop and can't draw on paper. I think you're doing it right, if you're going to do digital learn both. I dabbled with digital in school but I'm old fashioned and like the feel of paper etc. Plus, there's no such thing as an original with digital- I mean for collectors, museums, etc. Imagine going to an art museum that only had prints or digital screens that the artist had never touched- For me, paper and canvas are also about future generations :)

    • @rb2k196
      @rb2k196 8 років тому

      Tyler Blake I totally agree with you - For me, the best part around going around art museums (I absolutely adore the Tate modern in London) is seeing artwork that is there in the flesh and blood (Well not literally hahaha) - you know that there's only one of it/a limited copy of it - you know that the artist's hands made that, touched the material, put pen/paint/pencil to paper to make it - it's not something of the digital age.
      I share your view that we still need to take paper and canvas with us into the future as much as we do digital art so as to preserve methods for future generations and that we don't lose everything to technology and the digital age. To me each of them has their pro's and draw backs - with digital, you can obviously do things and effects that you may not be able to do or it would take a lot longer by hand on paper/canvas but with Paper and canvas, anyone can really do it - you don't have to get the hang of it or buy a fancy drawing tablet.

Seeing how meticulous and patient you are makes me feel so much better. I'm always worried that I'm being wasteful with my time, the only thing you can't get back. I've seen many "How to" videos about comics, and this is by far, one of the best. Very satisfying. Thanks for sharing.
