Thank you for doing this. My 6yo non-verbal autistic son has been trying to sing along with you all, even sitting next to the TV to pretend he is among you. It has helped a lot in his development of speech. I just wanted to let you know that your work, and a few other similar choirs, have helped a disabled child.
My autistic teen used to sing this with me when he was younger. He won't anymore, but he stopped playing video games yesterday long enough to listen when I played this, which made me cry, too!

3 things I need to say about this; 1. I LOVE Jesus 2. I LOVE this song 3. I Adore all my sister in Christ represented here....thank you for such encouragment!!!
This is just amazing. Berlin, Germany? Brazil? California? Kentucky? Ohio? and many other places I'm missing...and they got the rhythm and such perfectly? Did they "practice"? Well, however they did it, they pulled it off - beautifully!
They practice on their own time and with technology, they can mix and blend the individual sounds together to sound really good. I love listening to virtual choirs because of this.
Worshipping our Dear Lord is truly beautiful. Jesus is coming back very very soon. Are you ready? Get right with God and live forever in his glorious presence. God bless you.
My mother loved the movie "O Brother, where art thou", where she heard this song for the first time. She purchased the songbook, gave it to me, and I taught it to my Choir. I heard this virtual rendition and enjoyed it tremendously, because it is now a lovely memory of my mother. Blessings to all who were a part of the production!
Oh me too! The full body chill when you all sing together and it's perfect and you're all feeling the piece and are all in time and have good pitch is literally magic.
Wow, youtube just played this song, and I have never played it before! During quarantine, I went for a walk with a couple of church sisters, and as we sat down at this secluded place, randomly this man with a bike waved at us, and then came to where we were sitting. He came to us pretending he was singing in a concert and sang this song to us, and then mentioned he came because he left his slippers, but never come to collect the random sandal that was on the floor, we also sang back to Him, Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, and How great thou art, he joined in with How Great thou art, and then he left, and didn't even come for the sandal that was on the floor, I believe it was an angel! We can still give joy and praise during this difficult time :D Keep singing praises to God, shalom
Even though this was created three years ago, so timely for that it is recirculating during social distancing with singers from different parts of the world. So blessed!
I absolutely love the approach you took in allowing them to sing what they wanted rather than actual sheet music to go from. This piece still ended up sounding BEAUTIFUL even though they each did what they wanted to personally. Really shows off each of their musical knowledge and their abilities to adapt. Such a creative perspective! These ladies have truly lovely voices, I come back to listen to this every few months or so when I randomly think of the song and it never stops sending chills down my arms and spine. This is beautiful. You all did a great job, especially choosing this song that reminds us to pray at this time, even though it was published years ago. This is for those of you who are not already doing this: When you pray, start your prayer off with "Father", say your prayer as the Holy Spirit leads you, and then end your prayer with "in Jesus' Name I pray, amen." That way, we all will be praying on 1 accord to the same God, because only at the Name of Jesus will every knee bow and tongue confess that He is Lord of lords and King of kings. Halleluiah!
Beautifully done by beautiful women. Such talent. But what was most striking to me was the very end. When the music was done. And most of the woman made some sort of noise, comment, or face indicating a personal criticism and lack of confidence. Why do we tear ourselves down? Have confidence in the gift you have been given, and share it with others proudly. Don't let the enemy take that from you

I remember singing this when I was in high school. I can't remember for the life of me when it was within that time frame. But while learning it, we were taught that Gospel music was one of two genres that the USA can claim as theirs. The other of course, being jazz. I remember the feeling my choir had singing this song and many others over the years. I miss that so very much.
Absolutely beautiful. These women from around the world sharing their gift of song offered joy to all who listened. Praise God for the message as well.
I had just finished watching a UA-cam video that was a memorial/remembrance video of a young man who passed away one week ago. The video was made by his father, who is my friend. This beautiful video of these wonderful young ladies singing was the very next video that I watched. Just perfect!

Beautiful!! Thanks for taking my mind off of what's going on in our world right now. God bless us all and keep us all in his care!!!! Lots of love to all from Indianapolis Indiana.
Thank you, choir for singing this Gospel Spiritual, "Down to the River" composed when our precious brothers and sisters were torn from their homes and families to work as slaves for the economic gain of European settlers. "Down to the River" was the only safe place for them to worship! May we confess, ask forgiveness and compensate for that tragic time in history for which all us in the USA are responsible then and now.
Beth Jensen dear Beth, though I have much compassion for those both past and PRESENT who have been, and are currently enslaved, whether physically, sexually, mentally, financially etc., with all their heinous aspects, I am NOT responsible for my, nor anyone else’s ancestors crimes. What I am responsible for are my own actions, and those I teach my direct descendants. I am not responsible for compensating persons living today for crimes committed against their ancestors, as I did not commit those crimes. There are many more forms of prejudice than race. As someone of Native American ancestry, a smidgen of African American, Jewish descent, and Prussian aristocracy who fled Europe under the Nazis, treated terribly due to my skin and hair - I expect NO compensation from anyone for past crimes committed against my ancestors...and clearly can make my opinion known in this matter. Please consider all the facts, and ALL peoples, and ALL forms of enslavement, if or when this ridiculous plan comes up for a vote. Thank you. 🌎🌍🌏
These ladies hve the best collection of necklaces. Tiffany from CA has got my favorite. Anyway, I loooooove the song. When inviting sinners, I broke down. . .
I've just spent the last two hours trying to get the sound to work on my laptop with two monitors plugged in. 2 hours ago, I started up youtube and it must have kept on playing muted video after muted video in the background while I putzed with device manager in Windows. Until I finally pushed the right button and suddenly a sound came out the speakers like a glorious semi-circle rainbow suddenly appearing after the tornado had passed. Ladies, I can't tell you how happy it made me to hear you singing.
God bless you all with His unending faithful goodness and His Son's peace when one is obedient to Their will..may His Holy Spirit lead and guide all into the kingdom to come with much hope and joy!
This is wonderful to watch and no doubt everyone involved was uplifted by the experience. But bear in mind that this took hours and hours of work to assemble from separately recorded video clips. It is not at all an "interactive" event.
Can you tell me more about the mechanics of doing this? Or can you direct me to a source who can inform/educate me. I get your message that doing something like this involves technical knowhow. I want to learn about what's involved. Thanks so much.

And who shall wear the starry crown?

Studying about that good ol' way
And who shall wear the robe & crown?

O brothers let's go down
Let's go down, come on down
Come on brothers, let's go down
Down in the river to pray
As I went down in the river to pray
Studying about that good ol' way
And who shall wear the starry crown?

Let's go down, come on down
O fathers let's go down
Down in the river to pray
As I went down in the river to pray

And who shall wear the robe and crown?

49 people are trying to get down to the river and think they can get there with The Lord showing them The Way
Spiritually and musically ignorant. Plus do not appreciate the media aspect of it.
@@francespeterson7437 Hmmm...I think this is gorgeous and I am not a believer, myself. Music reaches a lot further than religion does.
Beautiful!! Thanks for taking my mind off of what's going on in our world right now. God bless us all and keep us all in his care!!!! Lots of love to all from Indianapolis Indiana.
I got goose bumps listening to this after a long week. Thank you. Bless you all!
Thank you.

@@GodsSparrowSpeaks Very well said and agree. Thank you so very much for speaking up.
This is incredible. We've made a mess of this world, but God's love doesn't waver.
Bravo, ladies! One lady from Germany, wow! Love the necklaces.
Our church choir sings this beautiful hymn. Shared it with them to bring some joy during this quarantine. Thanks.
Nothing more beautiful than the sound of harmonies made by woman in a capella
Beautiful. Now if we could just get the whole world to do this
These ladies hve the best collection of necklaces. Tiffany from CA has got my favorite. Anyway, I loooooove the song. When inviting sinners, I broke down. . .

How could people dislike this?
I know, right 👍
I've just spent the last two hours trying to get the sound to work on my laptop with two monitors plugged in.
Glorious. I just had a really hard phone call with my Mum, and it has restored my soul. Thank you so much. 💚
Wonderful job, Tiffany. Amanda and Erin are gorgeous like you; and the other ladies are all quite lovely!
Well done ladies 🚺 :)
Amen
This reminded me of the truth that we who know Jesus are one in Him, no matter what physical distance might separate us in this season.
beautiful...reminds me of Paul finding women at the place of prayer by the water..
Lydia of Thyatira.

nO, someone has blinds. Or those things that block light out, wtf is the English word? Top left corner. :)
This was recorded 3 years ago.
Diana S you’re right it’s blinds
This is wonderful to watch and no doubt everyone involved was uplifted by the experience. But bear in mind that this took hours and hours of work to assemble from separately recorded video clips. It is not at all an "interactive" event.
Can you tell me more about the mechanics of doing this? Or can you direct me to a source who can inform/educate me. I get your message that doing something like this involves technical knowhow. I want to learn about what's involved. Thanks so much.

Keep em coming, a light in the dark for, with and of the human spirit.
Beautiful!!!
Lets Go down in the river to pray Amen!!!
God be praised! God bless you guys.
