I noticed a rules error around 8:40. After the Arvus lighters are shot down he mentions that he made lucky saves so only 1 ogryn died. However, if a model is embarked inside a flyer and the flyer dies, the models inside are automatically destroyed unless they have jump packs.
Great battle report. While the ogryns are so strong they are also so fragile especially as everyone knows how good they are. I'm using a similar unit of 8 at the weekend so I'm going to be a bit more cautious with them. However I also have a Core detachment joined by an HQ that contains 12 ogryns, the larger number of ogryns along with 4 bullet catcher bases has meant they have lasted a bit longer in my early games.
I think at points above 1000 it's going to be more or less required to ally in some Astartes or Solar Auxilia to your Mechanicum army simply because you won't have any air cover -- or even air defense -- without them.

Thanks for that -- do you happen to have a page reference? I checked the transport rules when this came up in the game and must have missed it.
it’s on page 97 under the Embarking and Disembarking rules
@@johnsd3341 Thank you!
@@tacticaeimperialis But (im assuming) the Arvus transports were hovering, so the rule is not applicable.
@DOMdiriDOM This was part of an overwatch shot, so the transports were still Flyers when they were destroyed.
Geoff and you are painting machines! Great game, thanks for sharing. I’m still slowly plodding through all my marine infantry….
Thank you! We do try our best when it comes to painting. These battle reports help keep me motivated.
Great battle report! I kinda like these shorter quick reports.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it

So seems like playing Mechanicum as allies to Solar Auxilia or Marines is the way to go, at least for now?
