So you run two laptops for tracks? Using both computers during the show? Or is it in case one crashes and you have a back up? I'm really needing to learn Ableton Live. I use Pro Tools but then bounce the tracks down to MP3's with click on the left, tracks on the right.
One laptop is primary and the second is the backup. If Ableton or the Mac begin to act up, he will use the switcher to move to his backup rig. This is useful since Ableton can sometimes experience a lag or the Mac will experience a slowdown, causing the tracks to skip or slow momentarily. Both computers should be in sync and playing the same tracks so the switchover will be unnoticeable to the audience.
Worship Drums Thanks for clearing that up! The church I play at uses Ableton Live for tracks. I want to learn how the program works so I can use it for my projects.
