Very few sports could be mixed, and all of them depend on elements equal to men and women - achery, shooting, equestrian (women are lighter, could actually be an advantage), table tennis, fencing, they all depend on precision and speed. The others are directly related to strenght and endurance.
Fighters get their whole careers shut down because they failed to make weight within 5-10LBs, and these psychos are trying to convince us that genetic muscle mass differences up to nearly 40LBS is not an “advantage” then they call us ANTI SCIENCE for arguing with sound logic lmaooo
@@karinefonte516 Equestrian is very correct, it has decades of proof that women can win big (Isabell Werth is the most successfull Olympian in that mixed Sport). Archery and shooting are still debated. Others that come to mind are Snooker and Pool Billard, Curling, Darts. While men generally have better results than women in those Sports, the question remains if this has biological or sociological reasons. Table tennis for sure not. The men's Olympic champ would beat his female counterpart anywhere between 11:0 and 11:2 in every set. Fencing would be similarly lopsided.
@@RoadrunnerMZarchery can be iffy due to the muscles required for shooting. Anything with guns is a free for all though. Eyeballs and a steady hand are not sex/gender dependent.
@@-MaryPoppins- in Sports science, when trying to answer the question if there are differences between group A and group B, there are basically two ways to approach it: You can do it 1) biologically (anatomy, physiology, neurology etc.) or 2) statistically. The statistics for men vs. women are clear. Men have better World records, better championship results, better head to head in almost all precision events (archery, shooting, Billards, Darts, miniature golf etc.). The numbers don't lie. Now you have to look for the reason behind those stats. Looking at the denominator "sociology": It is obvious that more men participate in those Sports, men have more tradition in participating, men make more money, some countries and cultures even ban women from Sports period. But there is also research diving deeper into the biological field with hormones, nerve conduction velocity, eyesight etc. In conclusion, this field is way too broad to answer the question with a simple statement.
And why doesn’t this issue ever come up for trans men? How about this, if trans women are going to play with women FORCE trans men to compete with men. I’m sure they’ll change their tune quickly and turn on their own
She gave in by turning Dumbledore gay, the rainbow community ate her alive when she denied going further. Their craving to belong to "popular franchises" is what's wrong
@@Wholestain you can still belive in gay people but not trans people and that fine. Being gay was never an issue because there still only 2 genders but the trans one were problematic because it invaded women right and safety. So i dont see the problem here
I think what JK Rowiling has done standing up for women and girl's rights is so underappreciated. She was one of the first ones to speak up about the transgender issue years before most famous conservatives even attemped to do it. She deserves the respect and recognition of a true fighter
With respect, I think we should add Graham Linehan into this mix. He has lost his career, and many 'friends' and colleagues because of his heroic stand for the safety and rights of women and children.
even those 13 year old girls sat out because they knew it was wrong. People are getting hurt. It isn't transphobia, it's a very valid concern for people's safety.
Exactly.. However, from transgenderism point of view & those who support it, women don't really matter or are counted as a real minority. Why? Well, it's simple. From their point of view, transgender women are women. Why the fuss? We enhance womens rights, we promote women's rights & elevate the oppressed. Sadly, what many transgender women advocacy organisation & individuals are doing is the opposite. Many many ngos including those closely connected to government in Ireland for example, want a system where just identify itself is enough for a man to be women. Just say the phrase & you are a woman. This is not just in Ireland, it's in the US, in ozzy & in every western type world. A man with a full beard, bold patch, we are all meant to see as a women, just because she says he is. Well, our brains are not quite wired like that in my personal view. While I understand that we are highly adaptive, we must not be allowed to degrade each others rights or compromise them just to serve or allow section of a community to have their chances of winning. People with disabilities have their own sports and rights to go with them. These rights are under the frame work of what can be possible without creating any distinct advantages to people with disabilities while attempting to create inclusion, equaty and more. Not easy & we still have a lot of work to do. I & many us fully understand that transgendered people need their rights. They do & this includes the right for that person to be able to be part of a community in all it's glory including taking part in sports. Before the special Olympics, para Olympics, people with disabilities tried to participate in sports through common channels just like transgender people are doing right now. While indeed they don't need adaptations like people with disabilities do for access, what's clear and evidence shows, that transgender women especially, have a distinct advantage over biological women Xx and even more so when they merely say I am a woman, I identify as a woman, so let me take part in this all female sports. All of us, more correctly, most of us, know how rediculous this is. Transgender women and transgender men need their own sports body and competitions just like people with disabilities advocated for & now have. Transgender people need to form their own groups including spaces without taking away private spaces from biological women Xx especially. Many women of who are raped by biological men xy do not want anything to do with men including transgender women while in treatment. Nothing. Vulnerable women who were raped by xy biological men including transgender women, want to have their space to heal from the pain caused by them and part of this recovery involves keeping transgender women out of female Xx bathrooms in my personal view. Yet, many ngos and individual advocates don't see this irony of how disrespectful some biological women Xx are treated & feel they are treated by many transgender women especially. It needs to stop. Womens bathrooms should be off limits from any self identifying transgender women. Solution, universal bathroom is needed while having an all female bathroom near by too. People with disabilities don't always get their own ways, why should transgender people be treated any different? Why should their every wish be met at the expense of another group? Is it just because transgender women are men and women must bow down to them for example? In my personal view, this is what many transgender women expect & many women who support them do too. It's all about transgender women really, it's all about men. They are making all the fuss. The men who claim they are women by the fact of them saying it so, makes it fact & true. Personally, I don't buy it & many will not or ever buy it.
No, no, no. You need to understand. Only recognize minority or marginalized persons that benefit my argument. It's ok if people get hurt psychologically and physically if it benefits the cause I've been told is correct. Also, follow the science only as long as it says what I want...otherwise there isn't enough data, you're not looking at this one totally unbiased research paper done by a research group related to that cause, or just ignore the science in this particular case! (Sad to say, I feel I need to point out my post is sarcastic. These days, people might not grasp that.)
1:08 "No evidence they pose any threat to safety…" This is a blatant lie ignoring all the facts, all the cases in which women get seriously injured because of trans athletes, even in sports with no direct contact such as volleyball.
Taking away one group's rights, to give to another, is just wrong, and should be illegal. Not to mention, women's sports is not a retirement plan for failed male athletes.
🤣I've never heard it put that, retirement plan for failed male athletes. That's basically what it is, or what it could be. If you can't make a D league mens basketball team, just throw on a skirt and become a WNBA superstar.
Speaking of retirement plans, Poland is the only European country where women get their retirement earlier than men. Men have to work 5 additional years before they can claim retirement, despite living 10 years shorter on average...
100%...I'll add that Oliver looks like the last dude in America or the planet for that matter that should be discussing anything sports related, let alone the crime of guys who toss on a poodle skirt and want to compete against HS and NCAA girls. He's a puppet of the left who's show is dying and will hopefully go back to the UK once is does...he is a complete clown.
Years ago, my friend told me we would never see "trans women" competing with women in professional sports or the Olympics. When it started happening, he unfriended me and hides from me because he doesn't want to have to admit he was wrong.
I went to Barnes & Noble's and I asked the lady at the counter if they had the new Trump book about deporting illegal migrants. she looked at me and said "GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE AND DON'T COME BACK " and then I said "yeah that's the book! do you have it in paperback?
This isn't just a sports issue. I luce in CA and a few months ago a man with intact male genitalia went into a women's spa and entered a hot tub area naked. The mother with her 13 yr old daughter was distuged and disturbed. She went to complain and the spa owner informed her that local law prevented her from kicking the man out. A week and a half later the man, who had been arrested twice previously, was arrested for indecent exposure. These things are happening.
This is why I'm not sure cross-dressing should even be allowed in public. It will mean everyone has to walk with id's to show their gender instead of simply looking at the social cues that clothes etc provide. 🤔🤔Hey, I've come up with something. "Gendered clothing are social cues, not a social construct."
Don't listen to the mainstream media or the current establishment! They're just trying to tear her down (and many others like her) so that less people feel confident enough to stand up for their own rights. JK Rowling is a hero
Don't forget, she was the tip of the spear on all of this crap long ago. She championed the LGBTQ community until they went a little too far to the fringes of what she thought was right. She gave an inch they took a mile. That inch never should have been given in the first place.
3:15 not allowing trans people to pick which gender they want to compete against only affects a tiny minority (of trans people), also. Actually, a much smaller amount than the number of athletes affected by the trans athletes who are competing. So if they want to argue about a smaller number being affected, then just remove the trans athletes, because that's a much smaller number being affected.
John Oliver: “Trans women playing in womens sports is such a small minority, why do you care about it? We shouldn’t care- only a few people are affected. Get over it and worry about other issues like creepy men on the sidelines” Also John Oliver : “this group that only makes up less than 1% of the entire population needs to be catered to and feel welcomed in all aspects of society!! We must not rest until all conversations and discussions directly center around trans rights!!!! Nothing else is more pressing!!!”
Funny, mass murderers and serial killers only make up a very small minority but we tend to care a lot about these.. Small minorities can do a lot of harm, these freaks a one such minority.
It's the typical modern progressive NPC programming. It leads to quite a lot of Orwellian doublethink. Right. We care so much because you, Oliver, and people like you obviously don't. Also, talk about an easy argument to turn on its head. With trans athletes making up such a tiny cross-section of the population, why do you care so much if they get banned from women's sports forever?
JK Rowling already had my respect by creating one of the best book/movie franchises of all time, but it only grew when she became vocal about protecting women’s spaces. We love you JK Rowling ❤
I was about to say this! I have a 6 year old son and we were play fighting and was shocked by his strength. I am still stronger than him but give it a few years and I’ll have no chance. I told him it was getting a bit difficult and he’ll have to only play fight with his dad 😂 it used to be an understood fact that men are biologically stronger than women. I don’t know why this was thrown out the window.
@SandieKirkwood I have two sons who were hitting 6ft at around 15. One day I was the one carrying all the heavy shopping bags whilst they carried 1 or 2 lighter ones and the next they were the ones carrying 8 bags at a time and running up the stairs to our flat nearly twice as fast. It was quite a shock to me to really discover how young my sons size, strength and speed suddenly outstripped mine.
@@shelleyphilcox4743 you raised some wonderful, helpful sons! You should be proud! I feel like my boy may be on that trajectory. He’s already 4ft tall now! It should be news to anyone especially boys that have hit puberty that they’re stronger than women. You have to be purposefully obtuse to not understand it
I said this on another commentary…tell this to a girl who has had her teeth knocked out, a concussion, lost a competition or scholarship. This is getting so old. Save our girls & kids! I love JK Rowling!!❤
Imagine how the life paths of each look like. One is a father who never had a son and who rough and tumbled with his daughter. amen, and spaces like sports, locker rooms, and bathrooms should be exclusively for people of the biological sex not someone cosplayig the opposite sex
"It only affects a few people" There are two statements in that one sentence, first; "it affects few", second; buried conveniently (or even dishonestly) in the same sentence is the speaker's imbedded opinion that "there are so few they can be disregarded as a valid concern". The first statement is correct but vague, the second is an unfounded OPINION. No one challenges nor asks for convincing arguments in support of that opinion because we do not recognize that "only" is the most compelling word in the speaker's assertion. People hear the opinion camouflaged inside a true fact and do not focus on the word "only". What number of people are affected? It is not mentioned and usually the speaker does not know (nor care). How many MUST be affected before you remove the word 'only' from your opinion? I infer there is no maximum in the speaker's mind. A million is still "only a few".
“It only affects a few people. Why do you care?” I wonder if this is something the Democrats said in the time of Lincoln. "There are only a small number of slaves. Why do you care?" I thought the democrat party was the champion of the minority?
Whenever those folks use the "Why do you care?" non-argument, they know they have no actual justification for their positions. It's just another fallacy.
Or even worse. In domestic violence shelters and women's prisons, where there isn't much of an ability to opt out. These spaces need as much attention as female sports and bathrooms.

About a year ago 2 trans-women joined, not in particularly good shape either, and they both beat all women by a literal mile and the majority of these women were incredibly strong for females. No woman came to the meet ups after that.

A few months ago, a school held a running competition for the girls. One of ''them'' was a boy, and as expected, he ended up first. Now, he didn't finish in first by luck or by the tip of his hair, because multiple seconds later (almost 10), the second runner arrived. It's such a crazy nonsensical and hypocritical argument too. Like, however tiny the amount of female athletes affected by the inclusion of trans athletes is, it can only always be bigger than the even tinier amount of trans athletes demanding inclusion. This really bothers me too. I wish JK would have mentioned it. It is, according to him, affecting two tiny minorities; trans women in female sports and the girls/women who compete against them. He chooses the side of unsportsmanlike advantage over fair competition. He thinks he is defending all trans people with this nonsense, but he is not. Just that tiny minority involved in female sports.
I was thinking the same. It reminds me of that one news reporter talking to JD Vance about Venezuelan gangs taking over "only a few" apartment buildings.
@@LB-gz3ke The whole idea that they are supporting trans people is a vicious lie from the outset. Preach!!!! I swear, I lost a friend due to this issue, saying that I was being transphobic, when clearly men are stronger than women. It's just common sense. People are so brainwashed and going based on feelings instead of logic.
In the words written by JK Rowling: “It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but a great deal more to stand up to our friends” Standing for truth and right will test our relationships and we may lose friends and family due to our stance, but that does not make wrong less wrong. Truth is being bullied, but it will not be beaten!
There is a basic logical imperative that ends this debate before it even begins. If there is a categorical need for women's sports in the first place, then the category is valid, and cannot be violated. Done.

The point of Title IX is that there were vanishingly few funded sports programs for women in schools due the disparity because the popularity of those sports with fans. Undermining Title IX just means John Oliver wants to take academic women's sports back to pre-1972.

There are several types of British accent. Received Pronunciation is the accent most people are referring to when they think it sounds fancy or intelligent. Cockney accent is what it sounds like John Oliver speaks imo (without digging into his ancestry). It is usually (as you can tell) associated with less intelligent people as it's more common in rural areas of GB. Common way to spot it is an almost inability to pronounce the "th" sound, which comes out as an "f" sound. Also you could just say banning trans women from female sports only effects a minority so let’s do it 😂 He’s an absolute twit
In MEN's boxing, there are 17 different weight categories. Why? Because of safety and fairness.
If biological males don't have an advantage why do we even have separate male and female sports?
The patriarchy giveth... The patriarchy taketh away lol
Most women that say these things are fat or spoiled brats that don't participate in sports (or they sucked). Aka, losers, so they don't care.

"This only affects a minority of people." I thought we were supposed to stand up for minorities.
Only the approved ones.

"It only affects a few people"
There are two statements in that one sentence, first; "it affects few", second; buried conveniently (or even dishonestly) in the same sentence is the speaker's imbedded opinion that "there are so few they can be disregarded as a valid concern".

It's such a crazy nonsensical and hypocritical argument too. Like, however tiny the amount of female athletes affected by the inclusion of trans athletes is, it can only always be bigger than the even tinier amount of trans athletes demanding inclusion.
It used to drive me crazy when they would dismiss conservative attempts to highlight de-transitioners because they only represented a small percentage of the trans community, yet God forbid we try to dismiss trans issues even though they only represent a small percentage of the overall community.
@@Michael_Ian_Blackface "He's a troll/grifter/sexist/mysogynist/racist", "It's fake concern", "It's self-hatred", "It's not my job to educate you", "word saladry", "it's a dogwhistle", "they're brainwashed", etc., etc.
The left has developed so many tools in their arsenal that truly boil down to "I'm going to imagine I've pre-won this argument without having to actually think about what you're saying." They are so profoundly allergic to opposing viewpoints. It's pure cowardice.
And most of all, no one calls them out on this bullshit where they all believe wholeheartedly that they have psychic powers and can dismiss you based on the imagined intent of your words.
What they're advocating for is acquiesence to gender theory at the expense of increasing tensions between the trans community and everyone else. Anyone with basic sense know that if you try and force people to accept your religion, it's not going to result in good relationships.
Anybody who has "what's the big deal?" as their positional stance doesn't have a stance at all.....
I had a concussion and TMJ following my collision during a soccer scrimmage with a male when I was a teenager. I didn't recognize at the time why my mom was so angry that we had been playing against one another and that the adults responsible never acknowledged the seriousness of my injury nor their role in matter. Now as a mom of girls, I would never let them be placed in that kind of danger.
Oh my goodness. I’m so sorry that happened to you. It’s so sad some people think this is ok.
I always think back to when I was in 7th grade playing co-ed basketball in gym glass. Loose ball and a girl and I collided at the shoulders going for it. She broke her collarbone, I was fine outside of the guilt of hurting her. Learned a lot that day.
I was a small boy but good at sports. I regularly played hockey and football with boys 50 lbs heavier than me. Size matters. I gave up football after 9th grade. I am 64 now and have injuries from that year. I’d be disabled if I played the next 4 years.

2:18 The John Oliver you know is a character for TV, and a mouthpiece. He doesn't really believe anything.
JK Rowling has turned herself into the number one target for trans people but has become a complete badass role model to girls.
She refuses to apologize or back down ever she just constantly keeps on hitting back love her
That’s what’s beautiful about speaking the truth you don’t ever have to apologise!❤
The truth is the truth, nothing can change that. Even if she did back down and swing to the side of the lie it still won't change the truth. A glass of water is a glass of water...that's the truth, only an idiot would call a glass of water a glass of milk.
Preach!!!! I swear, I lost a friend due to this issue, saying that I was being transphobic, when clearly men are stronger than women. It's just common sense. People are so brainwashed and going based on feelings instead of logic.
In the words written by JK Rowling: “It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but a great deal more to stand up to our friends”
Standing for truth and right will test our relationships and we may lose friends and family due to our stance, but that does not make wrong less wrong. Truth is being bullied, but it will not be beaten!
1945: "why do you care? It's only a few jews"
There is a basic logical imperative that ends this debate before it even begins. If there is a categorical need for women's sports in the first place, then the category is valid, and cannot be violated. Done.
Rowling handed Oliver his head back on a platter. Thank you Ms. Rowling.
So they're up to the "It doesn't happen very often" stage. How long until the "It's a _good_ thing when it happens" stage? Six months?
Both you and J.K. Rowling said it all eloquently. More people need to see this video. Share, share, share!!!
I cannot _staaaaaaand_ John Oliver!
Another 👍 for *emphasis*!
I like you Amala, you've got balls...not real ones like the 'women' John Oliver loves but metaphorical ones like John Oliver's intelligence. I'm a late comer to your channel but I like it, keep it up :)
Lol though in reality balls are delicate and vulnerable. In the words of Betty White- eff balls. You want tough, get a vagina. Those things give birth to babies and can really take a pounding.
“Why do you care about X, when Y is also a thing”
Are we allowed to care about Y and also care about X, John?
whataboutism ?
Running concurrent thoughts and being able to fixate on multiple issues isn't in his skill set.
Have none of these people ever been to a gym? The inmate strength difference between men and women is absolutely astounding.
well, it's innate, but that works, too 😁
"It's only a few apartment buildings"
I tried respectfully debating a woke pastor friend of mine on Facebook about this. Wow, I just got called names, bigot, transphobe, etc by his other friends, even after giving the examples. They are brainwashed!
Woke pastor. An oxymoron.
Woke pastor? Wolf in sheep's clothing...
The point of Title IX is that there were vanishingly few funded sports programs for women in schools due the disparity because the popularity of those sports with fans. Undermining Title IX just means John Oliver wants to take academic women's sports back to pre-1972.
JK is an international treasure.

This sounds like Biden researched the truth with you 😆
Sounds like he did indeed😂
Same here. That applies to politics in the other countries as well.
Back when I was a teen in the 90s, this would never have happened. Actually, such a scenario would have been considered so outrageous and ridiculous that it would be comical. See: the 1992 comedy movie Ladybugs, in which comic legend Rodney Dangerfield coaches a girl’s soccer team and then he convinces his all-star future stepson (my childhood crush Jonathan Brandis, RIP) to don a wig and play on the team as a girl named “Martha.” It’s actually a very cute family kind of comedy, but when you look back and compare Ladybugs to the horrors that girls face today: it just shows you how far we have fallen in just 3 decades.
Yeah boys going into girls bathrooms were taboo. I still remember the cartoon network episode of "Cow and Chicken" showing the tabooness of boys trying to go into the girls bathroom even if it's after hours when no one is in there. Nowadays is crazy
@@priscillajimenez27 When I was a kid my dad, a teacher, would give me the keys to the school so I could go to use his classroom computer (this was before we had one and goofing around on the internet was a major novelty). One time I had to go to the bathroom and for a laugh used the girl's bathroom. I didn't do anything beyond my business in there but I still felt deviant for it.
John Oliver says we should be more worried about creepy teachers than trans girls in sports. Reasonable response: why not hate both? Those points aren't mutually exclusive.
When made the joke about the assistant coach liking the photos. We have had stories of grown men identifying as women and entering locker rooms with minor girls Melody Wiseheart, Jessica Yanniv, and Sasha Yates asking them inappropriate questions and exposing themselves to minors. But we never hear stories of women who identify as men doing anything remotely like this

No one wants to be the one not booing pedophilia.. They don't know what the hell they're showing support for with this weird bait and switch.. Or switch and bait..
*besides that this itself is transphobic implying that pedos would all be turned off by the possibility of seeing a trans child and that there's no market for innaoropriate images of trans kids. It's the innocence and lack of development they like so a trans child would be photographed just the same, if he's trying to imply a corelation
Like Nick Freitas pointed out: 1) it isn't happening
2) it's only happening a little bit
3) there's nothing wrong with it - if it were happening
4) yes, it's happening, and it's a good thing!
And if it’s happening, we deserve it!
Totally agree. Thanks so much for your voice. You're a gift.
I find that most people that seem to make this argument always appear to have never played competitive sport. Anyone that has knows this is BS.
I've seen a few of those 'on the street' interviews. And without fail, every one who makes that kind of argument is either obese or underweight. Or very shy about stating the truth on camera.
John Oliver. It's the eyes, it's the voice, it's the smugness, it's the lunatic gaslighting, I just...I can't. I can't.

I want to suggest - for the audio listener - it would be very helpful when reading a quote from Rowling, and switching midway to your own thoughts, to clearly differentiate between the two.

“pause quote” *your own words* “continuing the quote”
“end quote”

Well said and THANK YOU for this. WE STAND WITH YOU AND JK ROWLING
I remember when I thought having a British accent made one sound intellectual. Thank you, John Oliver, for showing me that this is false.
Examples would be truth/troof, path/paff, and in some cases it's severe enough for thanks/fanks and think/fink lol
A Minecraft UA-camr named StressMonster101 has one of the heaviest Cockney accents I've ever heard. Took me a few videos before I could turn the subtitles off lmao
@@RollMeOne_Kenobi he's definitely not cockney.

Cheating is okay, as long as it is in small numbers. Condition you to accept it in small numbers paves the way for it to be done in large numbers.
Cheating is the least of it.
