Amazed so few people in the comments have pointed this out yet, but this is only Miranda for the first 9:40 or so. The loud part that starts right there is the beginning of Cassandra Gemini (which continues until the end of the album).
+David Vaughan The whole of Miranda comprises 4 parts - 9:40 is when "b. Pour Another Icepick" starts. It's still classified as the same song.

Because of disputes with Universal Records, 'Cassandra Gemini' (listed as 'Cassandra Geminni' on most versions of the album) was arbitrarily split into eight tracks on the CD version, taking up tracks 5 through 12, since the band would otherwise only be paid an EP's wages for a 5 track album. The splits also were not done according to the song's actual five movements. On digital music stores such as Amazon.com and iTunes Store, 'Cassandra Gemini' appears as a single track."
And Wikipedia's right, as when you look at the digital versions of the album, "Miranda That Ghost Just Isn't Holy Anymore" is about 13 minutes and "Cassandra Gemini" is around 32 minutes.
They tell stories within an album, rather than in each song.

How the hell can any music be this good??? I absolutely LOVE this album! I must have listened to it at least 100 times by now! I am just blown away every single time I hear it... I can't get enough of this album, and I especially love this segment. Its so cool how the whole album runs together like one piece, and even the ending is the beginning. Amazing. Thanks for putting it up, man!

the bass line is pretty much the same :) slightly different rhythm but it basically feels and sounds the same. Kc has less of the typical mars volta sounds in the background and it obviously sounds like an older recording though.
If you've ever listened to the mahavishnu orchestra, mars Volta sounds a LOT like them.
They've stated out of hand a bunch of times that they weren't directly influenced but it's really striking how similar they sound.
That said, I am not complaining.

Wait... Okay, so I checked out the Mars Volta website, to try and prove you otherwise, and this comment had just proven to me that Parts B-D ARE part of Cassandra Gemini due to some kind of issues. Had they not been split up, it wouldn't qualify as an LP, because the album would have had 4 tracks, which isn't really LP material.
...Which makes no fucking sense to me, but I apologize for this.
I'm relatively new to Mars Volta and haven't really read up on 'em.

What I belive happened here was that the uploader was using A-Z Lyrics to gauge when each motion starts and ends, and it classifies what should be Pour Another Icepick as Vade Necum and starts Cassandra as Pour Another Icepick

The parts listed in this song are all part of the Miranda series, as shown on the track listing from the album. I do not own the album, but various images searched for in Google may back me up. I've also seen one image with the time slots for each various piece. Adding up all the time slots for A-D total up to 13 minutes, but the video has an extra 11 minutes, and I believe said image was proven to have 24 minutes totaled up.
However, this shouldn't really fucking matter.

Incorrect. Cassandra Gemini's lyrics start with "You can't bend your crooked arms or fold your punctured proof." This is Part A of Cassandra Gemini called "Tarantism". The part at 9:39 is Part B of Miranda, which is called "Pour Another Icepick".
I thought I was going crazy or my arithmetic turned to shit, because the minutes weren't adding up. But I realize that the ending of Part A was shortened! WHY? If you were gonna upload all four tracks together, then do it properly ffs!
i dont know if they're singing lyrics or words because if its lyrics then i dont get them.....but whichever it is it sounds fucking great

on my pressing "Miranda that ghost just isn't holy anymore" has 4 parts and "Cassandra gemini" (actually Cassandra gemiNNI on my CD) has only 5 parts, i really don't why. i fixed the thing right away on my iTunes library though, i just keep wondering if Miranda lasts 13min or 24min? :o
